In the Grand Cathedral, she desperately prays to the skull of Laurence, the church's founder, for moral support and guidance while she tries to retain her humanity. Struggling to contain the beast inside, she clutches her beloved pendant, the symbol of her position as head of the Healing Church and a reminder of the noble legacy she's inherited. For a time, all seems well, and it might look like she'll keep the beast at bay long enough for the sun to rise. But as you've no doubt learned by now, there are no happy endings in Yharnam. So you, in your quest to find 'Paleblood', whatever that is, slaughter your way through the Cathedral Ward's weird pale alien-looking preventative hunters until you finally reach the steps Grand Cathedral. Thrusting its doors open, you discover Vicar Amelia, hunched over and reciting a prayer to herself. She, however, has also taken note of you, despite being blindfolded. For you see, the moonlit scent you carry, and the sweet allure of Blood Echoes within you proves too much for her, and she can resist her beastly nature no longer, and casts away her humanity. Yet even still, a small part of her remains, as she still clasps the pendant in her hand, and does not dare to let go, even as you smash her arms to splinters. Like a cornered animal, she fights tooth and claw to resist your onslaught. But, alas, in the end you slay her, just as you have every beast you've encountered. Why? Because it's just what hunters do. And then you pilfer the treasured heirloom off her mangled corpse and smash it so you can get a meh-tier Blood Gem that won't even be of any use to you since that's around the in-game point where you stop fighting beasts and start encountering kin-type enemies.
Ahh, Kos, or some say Kosm... the healing church is evil, I think you just feel bad for her because she's dressed like a nun. They are all very evil, if you learn about the lore behind the church
+H'Boggggggggg I realize this comment is four months old, but I wanted to add my viewpoint anyways. I don't consider any faction or entity in this game "evil." Their morality is far too complex for that. The Healing Church, while its methods have obvious and terrible side effects, genuinely want to help evolve and care for the people of Yharnam. I'm sure there are some members of the Church as it is in game, possibly even Amelia herself, who are so far removed from the original head and choir (it has been many, many years after all) they aren't even fully aware of the awful things caused by the means they chose as a cure all. So, while they aren't in the right, they certainly aren't evil. Just trying to play god, failing, and too stubborn to stop at that point. The hole they've dug themselves is too deep to jump out of. :P
i dunno why some people place such importance on the "intentions" of people obviously doing sinister stuff. why don't you care about their actions? human experiments, people being ripped open and their blood used for rituals. if that's not evil then what is? but you're focused more on some non existent good they "intended to do." lost in abstraction
+H'Boggggggggg I do care about their actions, and I'm not trying to justify them, though I'm not sure where you're getting "people being ripped open and having their blood used for rituals." There's a theory that they used Yharnam's children to harvest Ebrietas' blood, but again, just a theory. The School of Mensis did some pretty fucked up stuff, I suppose they could be "evil" or at least "villainous," but they're no longer really part of the Church. Laurence and his followers were given the opportunity and wanted to try something new, to use the old blood to evolve and assist humanity. Did it work out? No. Was it the right call? No. That doesn't make him or the Church evil. That's the point I'm trying to make.
+H'Boggggggggg According to your funny logic, every driver initiating a car crash is an attempted murderer. Even in real life criminal law, "intention" is needed to convict sb. In the long history of humanity people tried and failed at a lot of things, some with dire consequences. Does it make thoses people evil? No. Should people stop trying to push humanity forwards? Hell no. Only a (small) child judges the world with simply "evil" and "good".
I just realized that during the whole boss fight, she's holding her pendant close to her heart, that's why she only uses one her for attacking. omfg this is genius. even as a beast, she still knows that object is important to her and wants to protect it
I feel bad for her :/ shes probaly the only person who managed to keep part of their minds intact, you can see that she takes care of her pendant even after turning into a beast q_q *edit* AND remenbers how to use it
狂気の化身 Same. I have so much pity for her. I think she is the last cleric converted to beast unless I am wrong. She probably sees other clerics turn into beasts so she knows her fate. She prays and holds onto her golden amulet to keep the bloodthirst away but eventually she can't resist it. That also means she is the most faithful/spiritual among clerics because she can delay her beast form for so long. I think her healing in beast form is just her muscle memory because beasts are supposed to totally give up sanity. But then Father Gascoigne can remember something of his past (no spoilers here) so Vicar Amelia may also have part of her memory.
狂気の化身 I think she is still sane because her louder more human screams sound like she is saying "go". I think she completely aware of her situation. She screams at you to "go" and is forced to fight you because you have her cornered in that chapel.

if you look at her left hand she is constantly keeping that little locket close to her chest, making her easier to attack from that side. I love how From Software puts such small little details in their games.
Sometimes, in my worst nightmares, I still hear the suffering screams of Amelia. One of the best bossfights ever designed in the history of videogames.
To me, Vicar Amelia was the first big hurdle, before I experienced blood-starved beast of course. But I will never forget the the fear that I initially felt when I began this fight.
The cutscenes in From Software's games have always been incredible, and this one is no exception. The way it is directed is masterful, the cut from her shadow transforming to the spray of blood upon the statue.. So fucking good. I wish we could get an atmospheric Bloodborne anime that was just like this.
This is probably my favorite fight in Bloodborne. Great character design, animation, and sound. She's strong enough to respect, but not too hard and you can have a little fun. There's a few neat interactions like stunning her by damaging the limbs, and the whole atmosphere of the battle is one of the best in the game.
One of my favorite bosses, and one that creeps me out and saddens me the most. I think another would be Ludwig as well. Just such an amazing game and concept. I love Bloodborne so much and it has been a real treat to get to play this game. I get chills every time.
Vicar Amelia is probably my favorite boss in the game, She basically sums up the hunt in the opening alone, as well as the prayer she does before the fight, "Seek the old blood", it's a ironic line because as the fight begins she violently Transforms into a Beast herself because of the blood, and as we can tell from her screams, and her wails in the fight, it's a fate far worse than death, and we free her from it by killing her. She would be far worse off in the church, suffering, than us basically putting her out of her misery, it's a pretty sad fight, but it would be even more tragic if she had lived.
While she was not my favourite boss to fight (she was VERY annoying) she is probably the best looking/sounding boss in the whole game. I love her design. I love the sounds she makes. I feel like the game developers had so much fun designing these bosses.
Use the flamespeayer for this fight. If you time it right, you can knock down half of her health and have plenty of healing to spare. With that health, you can make more ammo.
I beat her today and i have to watch it again in youtube after spending my blood echoes. This is one of best boss fight i had in years. Its tense, the ost is superb and i can feel her pain during the fight. Damn i love blood borne.
Just started playing this game. So far, this is the first boss I beat in one try. Didn’t even realize she could heal herself because she never did when I fought her.
She’s a moderately tough fight. Took me 6-7 attempts to defeat on my first attempt, I just left myself open one too many times. Try to stay behind if you can and if you go for her flanks get out after 3 R1 attacks. Throw a numbing mist to stop her healing too. A great fight!
@@_roxy_4801 yeah. When I heard the music for the first time, I realized that it's a banger, so I basically let Amelia murder me when I managed to take out a huge chunk of her health, only to battle her again so that I could enjoy the music a second time.

Plain Doll: Good Hunter, I do love you.
Good Hunter: I love Amelia.
I understood that reference
Amelia = Emilia? lol
That's a great one
Doll: Why do you ignore me, Hunter - san?
Hunter: I'm sorry darling but my heart belong to big fur puppy with angry issues
What about Ludwig?
@@Riceisokay this comment was posted before the old hunters dlc was released.
@@ReinerIsDaddy The beggar that turns into a beast in the Forbidden Woods is able to talk without any issues as well.
It seems some can turn into a beast and still keep their humanity. Another reason to love Bloodborne.
Her transformation and design are so cool, it’s one of my favorite boss designs from Bloodborne.
And Ebrietas daughter of cosmos is such pure nightmare, Rom & the Amygdala too.
She's the only boss I feel sorry for having to kill. I love her design and it's such an epic fight.
Vicar Amelia is best waifu.
What do you mean?
In which Form? ; 3 xD
+Nick Valentine He wants da werewolf puss-puss
Aaron Ham Is there rule 34 of Amelia?
Nick Valentine My good man, you must refer yourself to the very definition of Rule 34 to answer that: "If it exists, there will be porn of it...."
But really, yeah, there is.
thats very sad and haunting that she seems to be screaming "go away", "get out" and stuff like that
I cringed when I saw her cutscene. I was like, "Oh God, she has her own cutscene. Oh God, no. Oh God, nooo." So unreal that anyone can mutate into such a monstrous beast like that.
kellbellsparkles the cringe gets worse, some people find her monster form “attractive”
@@spookyslitter4294 - Lol.

@@spookyslitter4294 Monsters need lovin' too. Maybe the reason she's so pissed is cause' she wasn't *gettin' any*

3:04 "oh no you fucking don't."
Y'know, she reminds me of something, but I can't quite put my finger on what exactly.
*_(Ed....ward)_*
Eh. It'll probably come to me eventually.
Jason 444 oh gosh don’t remind me of that
😱
Consome panchi!
WHY DID YOU MAKE THIS COMMENT. NOW I DON’T WANT TO FIGHT HER
Full Metal Alchemist
the atmosphere of the fight is awesome
When you stub your toe and sound like this

I don't know what it is that makes me love this boss so much
The boss sounds disturbing
This is a souls game, everything in it is disturbing
you think THIS boss sounds disturbing? just listen to the cleric beast's sounds
Daniel King They are pretty much the same
Kevon McNeil Actually, even the boss music sounds the same
***** True, overall pretty much the same everything lol
when I did the visceral attack on her, I fell through the map and died^^
Wow you too? Thought I was the only one unlucky enough to have that happen D=
I have noticed that if you kill mobs on stairs with a heavy attack they tend to fall through and you lose your reward.
propa gandhi Vicar Amelia: "NOPE!"
I glitched through a wall she was facing.
XD that's the game punishing you for hurting such a good girl
if you look at her left hand she is constantly keeping that little locket close to her chest, making her easier to attack from that side. I love how From Software puts such small little details in their games.
Sometimes, in my worst nightmares, I still hear the suffering screams of Amelia.
One of the best bossfights ever designed in the history of videogames.
Her design is amazing. So much story in look alone.
To me, Vicar Amelia was the first big hurdle, before I experienced blood-starved beast of course. But I will never forget the the fear that I initially felt when I began this fight.
2:19 those two hits are just perfect.
Can we talk about how fluffy she is? I'd pet her if she wasn't hostile.
Agreed :)
OK, now hear me out.
Go on
fuck dude
she is sooo cool
The cutscenes in From Software's games have always been incredible, and this one is no exception. The way it is directed is masterful, the cut from her shadow transforming to the spray of blood upon the statue.. So fucking good. I wish we could get an atmospheric Bloodborne anime that was just like this.
This is probably my favorite fight in Bloodborne. Great character design, animation, and sound. She's strong enough to respect, but not too hard and you can have a little fun. There's a few neat interactions like stunning her by damaging the limbs, and the whole atmosphere of the battle is one of the best in the game.
What a friendly Borzoi
One of my favorite bosses, and one that creeps me out and saddens me the most. I think another would be Ludwig as well. Just such an amazing game and concept. I love Bloodborne so much and it has been a real treat to get to play this game. I get chills every time.
Vicar Amelia in base game: Good doggo
Vicar Amelia in the DLC: Best waifu
Tough fight aside, she is actually quite beautiful even as a beast. Always wanted to see her human form.
Didn’t I do it for you
My mom asked across the house "what kind of weird porn I was watching" due to the screams, when I was fighting her once.
From this to Vicar Lawrence to the Orphan of Kos, Bloodborne sure loves bosses that scream in your face.
Tried to kill her with the Threaded Cane.
I almost died in real life.
While she was not my favourite boss to fight (she was VERY annoying) she is probably the best looking/sounding boss in the whole game. I love her design. I love the sounds she makes. I feel like the game developers had so much fun designing these bosses.
One of the greatest boss fights of all time
definitley use short sword/one hand weapons. You lost the most health with DH every time. Shes too quick to use the heavy stuff
+4 short hunters axe works wonders on this boss
I used ludwig's sword in gs mode and I only got hit twice. Just quickstep in time and in the good direction.
Use the flamespeayer for this fight. If you time it right, you can knock down half of her health and have plenty of healing to spare. With that health, you can make more ammo.
Does holy blade work well?
"Remain wary of the frailty of men. Their wills are weak, minds young..."
Vicar was holding back that entire fight, she could’ve ended me on so many different points of the battle but no
The VAs and the audio devs really deserve credit for these games
At 3:03 you can clearly see her praying.
That makes it even sadder.
when she rakes her claws across the floor sparks literally fly and i think it looks dope as fuck
What old blood does to a MF
The amount of Rule 34 for this character is staggering
It's not enough
liked some and disliked some
Nina Tucker got fucking ripped.
Do not forget that she was TP'd as well. I blame Edward Elric even though he isn't that immature.
You made my day sir
EDO . . WADO . . . ONII CHAAN

This game is amazing , and the sound effects wow
i imagined this boss perfectly in my nightmares before i even knew about bloodborne, goes to show how good the character design is
I beat her today and i have to watch it again in youtube after spending my blood echoes. This is one of best boss fight i had in years. Its tense, the ost is superb and i can feel her pain during the fight. Damn i love blood borne.
Just started playing this game. So far, this is the first boss I beat in one try. Didn’t even realize she could heal herself because she never did when I fought her.
Her screams are haunting.
Fun fact, Amelia resembles a Borzoi; a breed of dog that kills wolves and protects livestock. Even her monstrous form has a hint of dignity to it.
1:12 I swear this sounds like Father Ariandel's scream but lower pitched
hahaha even looks like Dark Souls games and BloodBorne are starting to hit Monster Hunter crazyness, look at how big that hammer is XD.
+Tommy Vang If you think that's crazy just look at the "Greatsword" from Dark Souls 2. 2 times bigger than your character is.
Vicar is by far my absolute favorite Boss character! The sounds are so scary and stunning and the animation and model of the creature itself is crazy
I searched for borzoi, thank you RUclips
I was today y.o. when i learned about Borzois
*Those fucking screams, holy SHIT.*
When toilet papers go ultra instinct
She’s a moderately tough fight. Took me 6-7 attempts to defeat on my first attempt, I just left myself open one too many times.
Try to stay behind if you can and if you go for her flanks get out after 3 R1 attacks. Throw a numbing mist to stop her healing too. A great fight!
I don't wish to hurt waifu, but sadly I must
her monster form be lookin kinda thicc~
Yesyesyesyes
I remember this being more challenging for my ears than everything else
Is it the scream or the music?
@@deathrodamus9608 the screams
@@_roxy_4801 yeah. When I heard the music for the first time, I realized that it's a banger, so I basically let Amelia murder me when I managed to take out a huge chunk of her health, only to battle her again so that I could enjoy the music a second time.
1:54 Favorite part of the ost
