I eat the equivalent of a double bypass burger at home every week. All my fried foods, chicken fries, etc are cooked in LARD. Yet at 51 I am the same weight I was in college. The only thing different is that I never eat desserts, soda, juice or rarely bread and pasta. I do double or triple patties to avoid eating too many buns.

Firstly, places like The Heart Attack Grill might arguably make the situation better simply because of it's extreme nature and sarcastic advertisment and themes. Furthermore, the mass-media attention it has achieved has further emphasized America (and the entire industrialized world for that matters) weith issue. As Dr. John was into diets before creating the heart attack grill, this purpose is very viable, and his concept acts as a "scare" towards obesity.
Secondly, there is a distinctive difference between not caring about one-self and eating unhealthy, the either does not result in the other. There are several other psychological and societal factors that are to blame for obesity. It is very simple to blame indiviuals for obesity, when in actuality societies norms, firms capitalism, and our technological zeitgeist can be viewed as the main influential factors.
Do not give me any bullshit about being a 800 lbs guy on the computer, for all you know I am a 180 lb body builder.
