      @@warya3246 that's true too. But by other side the best ones deserve the most attention. Like the Big 3 in men tennis who will be remembered with their achievements, not with dramas, marketing etc. If Iga continues in that way in the next 10 years, she would be so close to their achievements, but ofc the models and drama queens will be on the highlight of WTA, not the real tennis...

      @xxxxxxxx8634 2 года назад +6

      @@warya3246 also i don't think Iga will sell herself. Her mentality is way more different than Emma and Naomi one. She could get the whole type on the world (same like Emma in US Open) when she won RG 2020, but she preferred to stay modest and to improve herself. This is how she became #1 for only 2 years. Also her idol is 36 y.o. "king of clay" who still achieves big things. And she wants to be like him, see her playing and even some moves from her body, he motivates her. That's why i think she will make long and successful career, only if she doesn't have serious injures.

    I love that as the months go by her technique improves, in each tournament new things are raised, her forehand is more and more crushing, she reaches every ball they put on her, very good serve, mobility 10/10, I don't want to get my hopes up as with barty, but I expect a lot from iga, hopefully and the opponents are up to her to have a fair competition, because so far, the one who gave her the most tennis fight was jabeour and iga crushed her on the scoreboard

Marin changed the Badminton women's singles game to the more athletic with power and speed... seems like what Swiatek did in Tennis right now. but slowly but sure, other player will raise their games and fitness to challenge Swiatek (like other women's Bandminton player to challange Marin at that time).

    I've never seen this number of outright winners before in women's tennis and I don't recall even Serena being this dominating.
    I love seeing her opponents so out of position during rallies and just knowing that can't stop her. The slump of the shoulders, the incredulous looks as another winner goes past. It's just amazing to see!
    I was thinking that going unbeaten at Wimbledon is a big ask but seeing this look back on her wins the past year and how nobody is even coming close to beating her, I'm beginning to think a Wimbledon crown is inevitable.

    I feel bad for some of her rivals/victims. Kontaveit has not been the same after that 6-0 of the Dubai final. She was playing great tennis before that. Sakkari, a constant presence in finals the last two years, has been on the losing side of tough matches and with Iga's form, her chances of winning tittles is minimum. Bencic is a good player but not really at the level of the other top (she has a gold medal, though which is tougher to get: just 1 in 4 years, instead of 16 possible GS in 4 years). I see Jabeur as the only one with the variety and the tricks to get Iga out of her zone right now. Pliskova... it's a mystery to me how a player so slow and robotic has been ranked on top. She reminds me of Dementieva, a great stationary hitter that was in trouble as soon as they moved her. Sabalenka... he attitude and grunting are so disgusting that she is the only top player that I enjoy when defeated. Gauff seems like a really nice person but her game has many holes. Great movement but inconsistent. There is room for her to improve and make it competitive against Iga. Raducanu is on her own soul search journey, and I don't know if she would be able to escape from the monster that the English media is and play with the freedom she had before her Wimbledon run and the US Open championship. Fernandez has a well rounded game and is steadily improving but I don't see much room for her to go much higher. Badosa, a powerful hitter who seems to implode in great stages. Of recent champions Osaka, Muguruza and Halep have the game and potential to get back in form and challenge Iga. Pegula has the will and power to upset anyone on any given day, even Iga. Finally, although not ranked high, I see Zheng with the major potential for improvement. She has the power, movement, youth and game to be on top.

    • @tradewins
      @tradewins 2 года назад +8

      Pliskova has been ranked high because of the prior year's results. No one disputes that she's not been playing anywhere near her past best. Jabeur is skillful but I don't think can keep up for an entire match the level she'd have to play at to beat Iga. Ons tends to get too emotional when things go against her and wastes a lot of energy that way...as does Sabalenka...for whom I share your antipathy. Gauff may improve enough to challenge Iga but her forehand needs a ton of work. Still, she has the physical talent to do so. Badosa is too slow to beat Iga and so is Osaka. Mugu is a head case, full of self-doubt, and can't play consistently well from one day to another. Halep is nowhere near her peak years and is injury prone and if you've watched her recently you've seen she makes way too many unforced errors and still struggles to control her emotions. There's footage somewhere here on YT where Iga seems to be toying with Halep. Although Pegula did beat Iga back in 2019 on hard, Iga beat her twice this year - once on hard and once on clay. At the time of Pegula's win Iga hadn't achieved her current heights. I concur with you about Zheng. I think she and potentially Coco, at some future time, will have the best chances to beat Iga. If you watched Zheng play against Iga at "Poland Garros" you saw Zheng was more than holding her own until she unfortunately suffered menstrual cramps and couldn't sustain that level.

    • @Rick9482
      @Rick9482 2 года назад +12

      I really hate to see Iga dominate this much because we don't get a very competitive final. The harsh truth is Iga is just in another league right now and turning other players into spectators!
      My jaw drops at how often the ball goes past her opponents on the other side of the court. They just end up watching!

      @@tradewins This tricky- Chinese performance with injured leg that Zheng made in the match against Iga was just an excuse when she clearly realized that she had no chance against Iga. Zheng used all the ammunition at her disposal in the first set ...

    • @tradewins
      @tradewins 2 года назад +6

      @@JesusMagicPanties First of all she suffered with menstrual cramps, and didn't lose because of her thigh. Secondly, did you forget that Zheng won the first set from Iga in a tiebreaker? She may have used "all the ammunition at her disposal", as you claim, but she won that set, which is what counts. So you're really talking through your hat here because 1) you're wrong about her leg being an "excuse"; and 2) unless she told you so directly, which I doubt, you have no basis for claiming that Zheng "clearly realized that she had no chance against Iga." And calling Zheng's actions a "tricky-Chinese performance" says nothing about Zheng, but it indicates that you're a racist. Please don't post any more such nonsense here.

    That's what happens when you're the only consistent player on the tour. She's a really good player, but women's tennis is lacking consistency. Even Halep, who used to be a really consistent player is sadly not consistent anymore. Will we ever see a trio like Serena, Azarenka and Sharapova at their peak again?

      The only things both Sharapova and Azarenka were consistent at are at screaming so much, that it makes people watching tennis on tv vomit! Lol That and another thing they both shared with each other is their one-sided h2h with Serena…
      …The last truly consistently great era of tennis was when Justine Henin, Amelie Mauresmo, Lindsay Davenport and Kim Clijsters were all competing and on top of their game, plus Serena Williams actually had some real competition back than even from her sister, who back then actually cared about winning unlike the last decade or so…

      Tennis wasn’t the same since the last of great Belgians hanged her racquet! I mean sure they both have their comebacks, but it wasn’t the same…since 2008 the female tour aimed straight downhill more and more, deeper and deeper and never seemed to recover…
