I mean I don't know if this is purely "JKD teaching" but this is what I've found and seen that can work. So you could say it's absorbing what is useful.
True, that's why I actually showed me actually using it effectively, rather than just theorizing. But like I mentioned before, NO technique works 100% of the time. You have to find what works for you, and figure out what you can pull of in training and pressure testing.

What knife defense is all basic wrestling and MMA stuff like utilize a lot of limb isolation stuff like kimura and Russian tie or the over hook all are tools of grappling basics I'd say for offense with a knife the most dangerous person would be a boxer

This is what jeet kune do teaches knife defense I like it wish they had a gun defense though :(

And gun defense is simple, if you can't even grab the gun, then you don't have a chance realistically.
