Thank you so much! I had looked for hours for a solution thinking it was electrical before finally seeing this video. My 2016 Chevy Express 3500 can now blow through whatever vent I choose! I'd buy you a cup of coffee or a beer in a heartbeat!
Was gonna go to a mechanic to fix this. Then found your video, purchased that hose on Amazon and replaced. Took me 1-2 mins. Everything works now! Thank you so much!!!
@cams3091 There are 2 sizes, 7/32 and 5/32. One size goes from canister under battery to a T fitting, the other goes from that T fitting to the top of the intake manifold. I'm the fleet mechanic for the company I work for. We have right around twenty Chevrolet Express vans and box trucks from 2006-2023. On at least 5 of these, the guy's told me it gets hot in the winter and cold in the summer, but it blows out of the defrost vents or blows out of every vent in the cab no matter what. An automotive shop the company used before I took over maintenance and repairs said that they all had bad blend door actuators, and 2 needed the climate control module(controller in the dash). Gave quotes from $450-$700. Go to a local parts store, get 5ft of each for $15-$20. Save yourself $500+ 😂
Hi. Can you please share the amazon link? Im trying to search for it as I just had this issue today. The mechanic says we need to open the whole dashboard and change the servo motors 🥲
I can’t begin to thank you so much for your perfect video of the problem that I had. You were absolutely correct with showing us that hose. This happened to me on Sunday, and I had the correct size hose from my fish tank. lol. I’ll pick up the correct rubber hose tomorrow. Again thank you so very much.👍
Had the exact symptoms and the video showed the exact solution, the vacuum hose was dry rot. My local automative had the vacuum hose in stock for my 2015 Express ... hose size is 5/32 from the vacuum tank to the junction and 7/32 from the junction the motor. I purchaed 2ft of both hoses needed for under $10. Thank you brotha so much for this video!
@@CarlosRios1 passenger side. Under the motor housing. Look around next to the coils. The hose is press on, no connection by means of hose clamp, zip tie etc. I apologize that I cannot identify an exact location.

💥 I just had transmission fluid lines replaced on the radiator of my 2001 Express 3500 that were right near that vacuum canister. Mine is under the battery. I picked up my van and realized that the air was only blowing at the floor and not on the dashboard or at the defroster. I pulled the battery and traced the hose from that round canister up about a foot to a T fitting and saw that the hose that goes from there across to the drivers side was cracked at the end. They must have bumped it when pulling out the trans lines. I snipped off 1/2” from the end, pushed it back on to the T fitting and VOILA…. Air blows from wherever it should now. Thank you. I owe you, bro 👊🏼🍺
OMG! I have AC again! You rock! Thank you👍👍👍 That was exactly my problem. Mine was mounted under the battery. Ive had this issues for at least 2 years. All fixed!
Thank you my work truck has been driving me nuts the last few days I decided to look on you tube and thanks to your video was able to fix it in les then a minute
Same thing, just started today. Figures when it's 88 degrees outside. But thank you so so very much!! My van is a 2014 loaded with options, all-wheel drive, rear cargo heater, electric and heated mirrors rear cam, etc etc only 23,000 MI. They don't make them anymore so I don't want to get rid of it. regardless of all that, again, thank you so much
Wow I just reached down felt around that round tank, felt the tank without a hose attached found the hose and reattached problem solved .I can not thank you enough for showing this.I put lots of woodworking vids on youtube too. Thanks again
This was indeed my problem thanks for the video. I replaced the entire hose line through the tee and up to the engine just under the right side shroud inside the van. The entire rubber line was rotting due to it dangling next to the exhaust manifold. I secured the new line with zip ties to get it away from the exhaust.
This was indeed the problem..!! Great video... REmove DOGHOUSE. U don't have to remove seats just shift DOGHOUSE from side to side for access. MY long VACCUM hose was broken on top if my engine.. go-to lowes or hone depot and get 1/4 inch clear tubing and run through firewall to T connector under battery rack.. check other vacuum hoses too.. Supa easy fix. Thanks for video.
Thanks for the very helpful video! I had this exact problem and followed your instructions to fix it. Strangely still have no air flow from the vents that I thought had been fixed. Any suggestions for a next step? I was thinking the plastic three-way hose junction might be the culprit. Thanks again!
I suppose you could insert a vacuum gauge into those lines to make sure all leaks are fixed. Maybe it's easier to see everything if you remove the cover for the engine inside the cab.
Thanks for the vid. Have a 2011 Savana Van The fan only works on the highest setting (4) and at that setting, hardly any air comes out of the front vents. The air does seem to be flowing out of the defroster vents. Appreciate your thoughts on this scenario.
At first i thought it was the wires under the dash on the passenger side, when i last tackled this issue. Turns put on this vehicle its different and this issue you presented looks to be it!
I recently replaced all the vacuum lines and it started working, but then after about an hour or 2, everything turned off. I can't tell if the relay is bad or the fuse resistor blew on the blower motor? Any ideas? It seemed to work just fine and then randomly shut off? Fuse isnt blown, Going to replace the resistor & relay to see if thats our problem
I'm dealing with the same thing right now. I had a problem, and when I fixed the vacuum hoses, it started working, and then it randomly shut off everything. I'm about to replace the resistor and the.Relays, and I'll let you know if that works
I did that same thing plus ran the other bigger hose which was split got air out dash, blower setting work fan speed works, but still doesn't blow out strong enough to keep cabin of 2013 GMC Savana,go from regular to max air it gets louder but to me don't blow hard enough doesn't change the power
Mmm. I'm gonna check with mine which also has the same problem: won't blow out of the front, just the vent and the sides. I thought it was something more mechanical then that. Will check a bit later.

Did you have to mess with freon or vacuum pump, etc?

That old hose that connected to the vacuum tank, where did the other end of that hose connect to?
Thanks man I solved it by watching your video
Thanks!!!! I was about to start with a new blower motor. Easy fix!!
Do you know what size hose that is?
Small one
Does this truck have a cabin air filter and if so can you please make a video on it
Thanks a mill solved my problem. Exact issue on my chevy express 1500..

I have a2019. I hear the blower wiring but u have no air coming from any vents or defroster. Any thoughts?
just fixed my A/C Thanks!!!!

What does the junction connect to ??
Myns was disconnected from the other end I don’t know where it goes ?
What size hose is this ? Length and thickness.. Thank you
Hose junction your holding at time mark 1:36.. once you connect a hose to that nipple, where do you run the other end?
You connect with vacuum tank Under the battery. That’s mine it is. 2016 chevy
Where's the hose junction located

Check wires behind heater control unit, found the female end tends to widen causing lapse in power. Would be on your 8 pin connector.
Thank you this work truck was supper hot thank you so much

You're welcome!
You the MAN!!
Thank you I was gonna take it to the mechanic save me a couple hundred bucks

Good question. I didn't notice any difference in engine performance, and the check engine light never came on.
Mine does this also, but it’s on and off. Ac works when it wants to. Not sure what that could be
would this be an issue on a 2016 or newer

OMG ! Just that ! hahah thanks a lot !
What will make the AC freeze up even if the freon is good. It will blow icicles until it freezes up
Do you know what the hose is called
I think it's just called a vacuum hose. I bought the replacement hose at an auto parts stores.
The front works perfectly fine but the rear doesn’t. How do I fix that
My air blows out the front vents but the a/c will start then it will stop and go again will this be my problem I have a 2010 Chevy express 1500
Sounds like a compressor problem.
5/32" ID and 7/32" hoses for anyone who happens to see this. Couple feet of each is all you need.
Good video
Nailed it!
