    Had roof racks on my 2003 RAV4 and 2010 Highlander and never used them, so definitely taking them off on my 2024 RAV4 for less drag. Thanks for showing the steps.

    Great video Rob! My 2023 did not come with the kit so I had to order it from the service department. That rack was removed the first week I had the vehicle!

    I had a 21 Rav4 XLE Premium and actually did the opposite I bought OEM cross bars so I could use the roof to bring bigger stuff home it worked well but I hated the fact the front one covered the sunroof, I always liked the idea in an accident you might be able to use that sunroof for an escape if necessary...but thats just me lol I LOVBED the Rav4 but traded it in for my 23 tacoma for more capability and storage mostly because the value on the RAV4s went up soo much...

    Nice review with details Rob, didn't know there is a kit for removing the crossbars. Wished Toyota didn't put the rack assembly on the RAV4. Another $400 add on I don't need. I’ve never used the roof rack on my previous SUV. Love the RAV4. Keep the video’s coming.

      Toyota dealer should have given you the kit to remove,

      I could have used the $400 to make one of the payments. Toyota should stop adding stuff that isn’t needed and let people decide if they want to pay for them separately!

    Better without, and it might help your fuel economy. Only concern would be roof leaks.

    Do the bolts go back in or stay out until re install?

      Same question. Did you figure it out?

    I like it better without. Doesn’t the roof rack add some wind noise? Obviously the view is a lot better from the sunroof…

    • @robmotivetoo
      @robmotivetoo  6 месяцев назад

      I never noticed any noise from it.

    Don't you need to cover the holes left from the removed bolts? Otherwise water will get in

    • @robmotivetoo
      @robmotivetoo  Месяц назад +1

      The holes are not left exposed.

      @@robmotivetoodo those snap in decorative covers have a gasket ring to keep out water? Might be a good idea to use sealing tape or silicone sealer or rubber cement to seal the holes. I’ve heard of people getting roof leaks and it soaking into the headliner. I sure if it’s just a rail clip issue or the bolt holes too.

      @PostprandialTorpor Nope, no gaskets.

      @@robmotivetooFYI - also just looked it up and the roof rail leak into the ceiling issue was fixed in all rav4 model year 2022 and onward 👍
