Welcome to your Jinjer experience. You have just witnessed the amazing vocals of Tatiana metal goddess, and angelic beast. I really appreciate how genuinely moved you seemed to be by the experience. If you want to hear more from Jinjer check out Perennial live at Wacken.

My simple take regarding her "Satanic" voice: If you were a selfless fish (Pisces) who wanted to see the world but was a bit skittish, and then got into the nets and was hooked by handsome butchers who proceed to rip away your scales and entrails (emeralds)... you'd growl too! So you see, sometimes the lyrics call for extreme vocals in a song.
Tatiana (who's not singing as someone possessed, so you can toss the garlic back into the spaghetti sauce) wrote an incredible story and sang about it the way it deserved to be sung... as with most of her songs. Some vocalist just keep singing in their nice and charming voice even when the lyrics call out desperation. Not so with Tati. Her extreme expression - a rare ability - adds so much more to a song... especially if you follow the music with the lyrics and how the beautiful cacophony tells the story.

    • @drammo
      @drammo 2 года назад +2

Kudos for breaking it up in fewer words I was going to. Except for the "cacophony" -- it's not by any definition :)

    • @TomClark-Futoura
      @TomClark-Futoura 2 года назад +2

@@drammo I use the term "beautiful cacophony" which should take any negative connotation away from the word if I use it with this modifier. In my understanding, cacophony doesn't always have to mean displeasing. But I've been wrong once before. ;-) Thx, Andriy.

    • @johndeeregreen4592

The lyrics and understanding them is an even bigger emotional roller coaster, for sure. The duality of Pieces and Tatiana's expression of her emotions through it are next-level.

    • @digitalmouse3314

Her songs are about war in her home province and her escaping her growl is to represent her anger towards russia, all growls are that and represent that.

There's nothing to be frightened of Tatiana is an angel. The band is from war-torn Eastern Ukraine. They have so much talent as a band. Tatiana writes great lyrics, I would recommend maybe listening to this song again with the lyrics up, they are very beautiful and sensitive.
As others have said Perennial Live at Wacken is a great live performance. And again, the lyrics are very beautiful.

Tati is absolutely amazing, and completely self-taught!
One thing I'd like to mention: Your physical responses remind me a lot of mine when it comes to unexpected sounds. There is a condition called Misophonia and it couples with a condition called ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.) They are two sides to the same coin. People who have it can be triggered by certain sounds, and the responses can be a number of things from watering eyes and feelings of euphoria, increased heart rate, and chills for good sounds, or for bad sounds you can experience anger, agitation, nausea, headaches, increased heart rate and also watering eyes. It's a genetic condition that can cause physical responses. A very classic example of people who have it is people who get angry at mouth-chewing noises, or who get chills when hearing music they like. Triggers can vary, but that's a pretty universal one. I have this condition. Perhaps you have it as well? :D

@@jollyroger8025 I honestly don't know the meaning of the song because I haven't looked up the lyrics, but I assume it has something to do with the duality of man since Pisces are the two fish and the song goes back and forth between light and dark tones.
I could do without the growling too myself, not really my style. But I enjoy the melodic parts and when they switch it up really quickly towards the end going back and forth between growling and singing.

Hehehe.. Welcome to the magic that is Jinjer... fantastic musicians and a singer who is utterly beyond words. Tatiana Shmayulk is your hostess on your ride and Roman Ibramkhalilov is playing guitar, Eugene Abdukhanov is on bass and Vladislav Ulasevich is your drummer. The next steps on your journey should be Perennial (Live at Wacken) and after that, Judgment and Punishment (One Take).

🔥Welcome to Jinjer! I just found your channel, great reaction Empress, subbed! Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics!
The first time I heard Pisces I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band.
TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂
Sorry for the long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs!
My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and "that was more unexpected than my first child" 🤣
I love the story of Tatiana getting interested in learning to growl. In her own words, "I was inspired by Otep (Shamaya). When I was 15, my friend showed me a record of House of Secrets. I was like, ‘That dude - his voice is so powerful. And he said, ‘Oh come on Tatiana, that’s actually a woman!’ I was like, ‘What?’ She blew my mind. That was the time, the moment when I realized I wanted to shock people just like her. I just had the feeling or the intuition, like an extra sense that this is what I’m made to do.”
For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, so he's a huge part of the beautiful sound of Jinjer, but Vlad the drummer (who also plays guitar and classical piano, but so far not in most Jinjer songs - I think he played piano in lainnereP) has been writing more of it and wrote nine of the eleven songs for the newest album Wallflowers, first three videos are out for Vortex, Mediator and Wallflower. Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs.
The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine in 2009 as a group of three (then five) with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band when Tatiana replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar 2009/2010), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their road sound engineer Sasha to be a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members.
One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the way she combines growling and beautiful singing with Jinjer's fantastic instrumentals to be so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top, Mediator and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness, Vortex, Wallflower and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for letting capitalism destroy her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah, Outlander, Dip A Sail and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that might do well together in one reaction).
I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official and/or live in Melbourne), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). Note that because Jinjer has so many great official videos and so many astounding live performance videos, no Jinjer fan will ever mind if you react to a second video for a Jinjer song you've already heard, so whichever songs you choose, whatever pace you like: Enjoy! ❤🖤🤘

Pisces is one of the astrological signs, which Tatiana was born under. It is represented by two fish swimming in a circle following each other, and is meant to represent the duality of people born under the sign. The song uses a lot of symbolism of fish and water, so I just wanted to explain that if you looked up the lyrics.
Pisces swimming through the riverAll their life against the stream
Searching for a hook to catch on
    And see their sun beam
Beautiful. Russian is their primary language, so to have written such great lyrics in another language is extra special.

The best explanation of her technique is by The Fairy Voice Mother when she reacted to this. Tatiana has a pronounced tomboy streak and emulated legendary male growler Randy Blythe in her growling technique. It doesn't use the vocal cords but you are totally correct it takes years of practice for men or women to learn the technique.

You are partially correct, she can't scream like that using her vocal chords, it would rip them to shreds. Their are skin flaps, no idea what they called, above the vocal chords, that with training, anyone can use. It is unusual for a woman to be able to make that deep of a growl though. By the way, I am not an expert on this, just heard all this from vocal coaches who listened to jinjer.

Все видимо забыли что демоны это низвергнутые ангелы, и их голос у них никто не отнимал...😏

Terrible. For the first time in 2 years I didn't even finish your post.
But I still think you're wonderful.
But I gave it a thumbs down.

Loved your SRV reactions. Didn't expect to run across a Jinjer reaction so soon. You just opened up a whole can of worms. Check out "Cloud Factory official live video", "Retrospection live in Melbourne", and "Perennial live at Wacken" for more. 😀
