Brilliant video, no messing around, straight to what we're all looking for and with super helpful notes to acompany each comparison, top class, perfection, thank you!!
This is great thank you for doing this! It'd be good to hear half of the measures where the beater *isn't* buried. Most every stroke was a buried beater (not a technique critique) which definitely changes the sound.
I use a Rtom Black Hole head over my kick head when I play at home. Does anyone know if the dampening ring on the EMAD would get in the way of the Black Hole head cover?
My favorite of all the EMADs is the EMAD Heavyweight. The EMAD2 is a very close second. Just want more of that low-end and can tune it a bit tighter for rebound and still get a great sound with the EMAD Heavyweight.
I just picked up an emad heavy for my sonor Hilites. Haven’t put it on yet. I usually I usually use a SK3. We will see if it makes a convert out of me.
@@aaronsudasna Correct, because they are a bit special and not strictly EMAD heads. I was told to leave them out of this video and focus purely on the EMAD models. (This video is a collab with Thomann Music and Evans). 🙂
Siros love your stuff on your channel and Drumeo. I would absolutely love to play emad on my DW Colectors kit, but I have a 23” kick and D’Addario doesn’t make a 23”😢😢😢😢
I bought a used Starclassic W/B that has an EMAD Heavyweight and I absolutely hate it, it doesn't sound with enough punch and low-end as I've had from the EMAD Coated, with that on a previous kit I was getting compliments from different people at almost every gig.

Thanks so much, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the layout! 🙏
You make the best comparison videos. I discovered your channel from the stack videos
Thanks for the effort! Great comparison!
My pleasure!
I have the EMAD clear, and I love it! Also using the smaller ring, and playing mostly metal and rock.
I've been using the EMAD 1 ply clears since they first came out. Love them. I gotta say, though, those calf tones, #7, really surprised me!!
This is great thank you for doing this!

I think the Coated one was epic mate
love this, great video great format and great performance
Onix 👌

loved this! UV coated has been mine for years, and the OG clear was my first, but I love them all
I was convinced I was gonna buy the regular EMAD clear until I heard the Calftone. Now I'm unsure again lol
great job
I have and have solely played the heavyweight for years. I'm gonna try and emad 2 or onyx next. I want something different and I liked those the best

Different sounds for different applications of course, but as a drummer Model #3 keeps calling to me!

i’ve always liked the calfskin heads best
I had the onyx but once I tried the EQ3 I didn't come back.
You didn’t showcase the gmad clear and coated

Love it so much!
He's born mid 90s and is 3-5 years younger than me but looks old asf lol and looks older than me. God damn, what dimension am I in?
That's a weird comment to make 🤣🤣
