The Lotus Temple was designed by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, who won acclaim for the project even before the temple was completed. It subsequently received several awards. The Lotus Temple derives its name from its design. The Lotus Temple, located in Delhi, India, is a Bahai House of Worship that was dedicated in December 1986. Notable for its lotuslike shape, it has become a prominent attraction in the city. Like all other Bahá'í Houses of Worship, the Lotus Temple is open to all, regardless of religion or any other qualification. Lotus Temple is 8th Wonder of the world. Marble used for the temple comes from Mount Penteli in Greece. The lotus flower is sacred in Hinduism. It symbolizes beauty, fertility, prosperity, spirituality, and eternity. These are some pretty significant ideals, and all have the white lotus representing them. Many Hindu deities hold or associate themselves with lotus flowers
