  • Rolls-Royce RB.162-1 turbojet engine. Lift engine designed for the Dassault Mirage III V (vertical take-off and landing technological demonstrator).
This engine would be the Holy Grail in the field of jet dragsters… Its thrust-to-weight ratio is simply impressive (16:1) for a turbojet engine.
    Thrust:
    Normal maximum: 19.6 kN / 2000 kgf / 4,400 lbf
    Emergency maximum: +10%
    Mass: 125 kg / 275 lbs

Those were used as a takeoff booster engine in the Hawker-Siddeley Trident. It was placed over the #2 engine in the tail and fed by a small auxiliary inlet on the S-duct and was only used for extra thrust during takeoff. That's pretty damn cool INDEED! Never seen one up close before, thanks!

Also the first engine to use a composite compressor shroud and composite compressor blades. It had no recirculating oil system as it was only designed to be run for short periods.

    hello I have a question
How much is the data equal to the "overall pressure ratio"?
    it's for homework. Thanks!
