I expected Bazel to win but this fight was a lot closer than I expected! Silver really didn’t wanna go down without a fight, I was convinced Bazel was gonna lose at one point! Any fight with Seething Bazelgeuse is instantly a winner, but Silver Rathalos really brought his A-game with the Incandescent State. However, Seething Bazelgeuse did a surprising number of nuke ultimates to end his enraged state, which is highly unusual. The description still says normal values aside from HP, but I gotta ask if you did anything for Seething Bazelgeuse specifically, or if he just weirdly wanted to keep doing that. Not complaining either way, as this tactic helped prevent him from getting knocked down and inflicted with high damage from hitting that big head of his, but I am curious if this was merely an A.I. quirk of this fight or not.
@@MonsterSlayerSquad I don't think you need to do anything. Just let things happen naturally, even if it's a completely weird occurrence like this. That little platform blocking certain attacks is something we can control, but actual A.I. behaviour otherwise? Part of the Monsters' charms!
From what I can gather, it's because Seething will choose to use his super nuke if the follow conditions are both met: -Both the head and the tail are purple hotness -He has been enraged for an extended period of time Considering he spent a lot of the fight in rage mode, I think what happened was that Bazel got enraged early, then powered up and immediately sent out the nuke because both flags where ticked. And this continued for a good amount of time. I, personally, am very glad that the entirety of the fight managed to avoid that corner with the ledge this time around, showing off just how damn dangerous Seething is when the arena isn't messing with him. That tail drag combo was deadly, and he was relentless. Just as I love him. Silver put up a good fight, but ya boy SB-52 just had one hell of a blast.
if we're honest tho seething and even furious should be buffed cuz their normal versions are already elder tier...with only a nearly plausible excuse for flaming and scorned to get a minute buff too, with both their normal versions being able to at least stave off certain elder attacks whereas rajang and bazel both being alongside jho as elder eaters...or at least capable of it/moreso than espinas and magnamalo could ever be

I see you adjusted seething so it doesn't stay in it's nuclear state for too long. Being able to take 1000 damage and knocked down twice with that state made it really vulnerable in rise
At the same time tho Bazel is at its peak when spamming bombs in purple mode, I feel like it is actually weaker like this even considering the extra damage he takes, just look at how he dominates Rathalos near the end in just a few seconds while enraged.

Still Silver did a great job considering who he was up against. I’m curious though why did you put Seething and Violet at around the same bracket especially when they fought recently? If Violet wins, are you going to do the fight again, and I kinda miss keeping the monsters health proportional, it kinda takes away from the thrill. You said it yourselfe, they have the same HP now. Seething is a Tank, so thats a nerv. Silverlos got a lot of Nukes and smaller Timebombs not unlike Bazel, and hes faster. He even got Poison. So I on my Part expected him to just outnuke Bazel in the one thing it can do best, while dodging his Bombs in the Air. Im haply to be wrong.
I would assume its because monsters like Gold & Silver rath don't actually have alot of health to begin with, which in normal hunter v monster cases is evened out by their tough tanky hitzones, which as far as I'm aware Monster v Monster attacks ignore almost if not entirely. And in the case of this fight in particular, Seething normally has a near gargantuan healthpool to account for his squishier hitzones & explosive damage pops that hunters can take advantage of, so for MvM fights like these giving them proportionate healthpools would put one or the other at a sever disadvantage!
I was rooting for silver but seethings bombs and ability to stagger is just greater than most monsters!!! Still a badass fight when it comes down to these two monsters
@Evan Zebrowski Seething Bazelgeuse was just a bad matchup for silver, because of those flying staggers. Against sother monsters he won't have that problem and he'll do a lot better.
Seething must've known about how people keep using Silver's cutscene as 'evidence' that he's weak or a jobber because he just seemed absolutely, well, seething the entire fight. My man must've wanted to set the record straight because he did NOT let Silver breathe. Rathalos's unique vulnerability to being attacked while airborne also dampened his chances, but Seething's ace in the whole was just the relentless assault with his bombs. In fact, the usage of his Nuke as soon as it was ready might've even slowed the fight down, as his purple bombs do significantly more damage and are also harder to avoid. This fight went exactly as it would've in lore. Also, if you're curious as to why Seething detonated his Nuke more frequently, the Nuke seems to be tied to how long he's been in rage state and if his head and tail are both at purple hotness. If he's got both up and he's been enraged for too long, he'll detonate it and end the rage mode. On rare occasions however if he's been enraged for too long but isn't at purple yet, when he heats up he will immediately drop out the nuke because of both event flags being checked, because the timer counters even if he's not purple yet. It seems Silverlos managed to keep triggering this by constantly enraging him early, causing it to happen more than a couple of times. Very unique, but honestly, really cool and fun to watch. Seething wasn't just trying to rectify his honor, he was out for blood. And boy howdy did he get it. Ledge won't stop him this time! what a blast this was!
Nah, it just so happens that Seething Bazelgeuse's multi-hits are very broken in this kind of battle. The same goes for the Shagaru's Frenzy explosions.
A lot closer than I'd expect based on their MHWI counterparts! Now it'd be interesting to see how well a couple of Golden Rathian and Silver Rathalos would do against other elder tier monsters. The MHWI version of them couldn't defeat a Rajang even when teamed up, but the MHRS version should do much better than that.

That was another intense battle! I was rooting for Bazel, but when Silver hit his ultimate I was very worried that this would be the beginning of the end with how hard that thing hits even on a fire monster like Bazel! Bazel did have simple, yet effective answer for Silver, which was more bombs and explosions. I predicted that Bazel would turn the battle into a bomb minefield, and that's exactly what he did and it led him to victory. I would love to see Bazel go against Espinas too, but I have the feeling that Rajang won't let that happen.
I always knew seating bazel would win. Not because of a lore base stand point but of a gameplay stand point. Seething bazel’s biggest advantage is ground control while safe in the sky. Silver rathalos would absolutely win if it weren’t for gameplay limitations. The 2 would be fighting in the air constantly because of silver rathalos’s Dedicated air style. Still though I absolutely loved this fight. It was definitely heart wrenching for me to see Rathalos stuck in a corner.

The AI that causes monsters to do their slow landing animation every time they get staggered in the air made Rathalos much more of a punching bag than he should have been. And the corner of the small map had him trapped longer than he probably should have been as well. When Silver was doing what he should have been with the fire, its pretty clear that it had all the tools it needed to completely dominate but he kept acting like an idiot. Get staggered by a bomb in the air > land slowly > get staggered and bombed again for not doing anything for almost 10 seconds > fight returns to neutral. Even more insultingly, the few times when Bazel got staggered in the air and was forced to land, its landing animation is an attack that can stagger, whereas Rath’s landing animation is completely harmless.
I feel like the "stagger in midair guarantees slow landing" thing only applies to the rathaloses Rathian immediately backflips after staggering midair most of the time, seregios continues attacking, and I don't remember what astalos does
@Goji this was a really bad matchup for silver; who I'd argue is a really strong fighter. Those explosive bombs kept staggering silver and that was his downfall.
In all fairness, Rathalos has always had a vulnerability to being attacked when it's airborne. This just extends to Silverlos as well, due to it just being a variant of the former. Unlike the last couple of fights in the Forlorn Arena where the terrain messed with the combatants a bit (though in the case of Flaming v Lucent, it messed with them both, making it even out and generally not impact the fight too much), there wasn't really anything in the fault of the arena or an uncontrollable element that happened this time. Silver's (and Rathalos's in general) unique weaknesses just caused him to lose. I think this also happened with Steve v Rathalos too. It is unfortunate, but it is what it is. He put up a much better fight here than he did in Iceborne though.

Mann Rathalos is just becoming not my favorite monster anymore. I mean for christ sakes he gets beat by every monster he goes up against like uggh bro you’re so weak
I think thats extremely unfair to Rathalos, honestly. Rathalos just has the unique vulnerability of being easily interrupted when it's airborne, and this is probably the worst kind of trait to have against Seething or Bagel in general. Rathalos is a genuinely strong monster, but Steve and Bazel are both bad matchups for him since both of them take advantage of this weakness and are fast attackers. He can defeat other opponents no doubt, those two are just kinda counterpicks to him.
People really forget just how strong Bazel, and especially Seething are. Silver Rath losing doesn't even remotely mean that he's weak in MvM, although one could argue that without equalised health he would have fared much worse.

紅蓮滾ってる状態がすぐ終わる制限がされても尚リオレウス希少種に勝利した紅蓮バゼルは凄いと思う。レウス希少種も炎の連続攻撃や大技がとても強力だったが、紅蓮バゼルの爆撃が強すぎた。紅蓮滾ってなくても充分に強い…。ほんの僅かな紅蓮滾った形態内で大きくレウス希少種の体力を削ったのもよかった。
追記:そもそも紅蓮滾る大爆撃も強かったのもあったが、やはり紅蓮滾った状態が短くされたことの方が不利的状況だっただろう。ただ時々紅蓮滾る大爆撃の前に怒涛の強攻撃を放ったところはやはりよかった。

The AI that causes monsters to do their slow landing animation every time they get staggered in the air made Rathalos much more of a punching bag than he should have been. And the corner of the small map had him trapped longer than he probably should have been as well.
When Silver was doing what he should have been with the fire, its pretty clear that it had all the tools it needed to completely dominate but he kept acting like an idiot. Get staggered by a bomb in the air > land slowly > get staggered and bombed again for not doing anything for almost 10 seconds > fight returns to neutral.
Even more insultingly, the few times when Bazel got staggered in the air and was forced to land, its landing animation is an attack that can stagger, whereas Rath’s landing animation is completely harmless.

I feel like the "stagger in midair guarantees slow landing" thing only applies to the rathaloses
Rathian immediately backflips after staggering midair most of the time, seregios continues attacking, and I don't remember what astalos does

@Goji this was a really bad matchup for silver; who I'd argue is a really strong fighter. Those explosive bombs kept staggering silver and that was his downfall.
In all fairness, Rathalos has always had a vulnerability to being attacked when it's airborne. This just extends to Silverlos as well, due to it just being a variant of the former. Unlike the last couple of fights in the Forlorn Arena where the terrain messed with the combatants a bit (though in the case of Flaming v Lucent, it messed with them both, making it even out and generally not impact the fight too much), there wasn't really anything in the fault of the arena or an uncontrollable element that happened this time. Silver's (and Rathalos's in general) unique weaknesses just caused him to lose.
I think this also happened with Steve v Rathalos too. It is unfortunate, but it is what it is. He put up a much better fight here than he did in Iceborne though.

個人的には銀レウスに勝ってもらいたかったがまあ予想通りだったな。紅蓮状態になってもすぐに大爆撃して元に戻る謎仕様だったが、それでも充分強かった。銀レウス登場ムービーで通常バゼルが劣勢だったのでリベンジできたと考えるべきかww。金レイアに頑張ってもらいたいが相手が相手なので望み薄か?

I think thats extremely unfair to Rathalos, honestly.
Rathalos just has the unique vulnerability of being easily interrupted when it's airborne, and this is probably the worst kind of trait to have against Seething or Bagel in general. Rathalos is a genuinely strong monster, but Steve and Bazel are both bad matchups for him since both of them take advantage of this weakness and are fast attackers. He can defeat other opponents no doubt, those two are just kinda counterpicks to him.
People really forget just how strong Bazel, and especially Seething are. Silver Rath losing doesn't even remotely mean that he's weak in MvM, although one could argue that without equalised health he would have fared much worse.
