@@aeddiefarmerpretty much all parrot species naturally have a massive phobia of anything unfamiliar in their environment. They can normally handle new things that look like things they already like, but the moment the object looks unlike anything they’ve seen before they just fear.
I don't know if it's just because it's 2am here or what, but the spinning upsidedown while flailing the bottle around that one of the girls did is the funniest thing I've ever seen, I'm in tears 😂😂😂
You guys are doing important work showing how intelligent parrots are. I’m hoping some day humans will acknowledge their intelligence and the law will change to give them rights and better treatment.
Look at these birds. Thats what we're doin...😂😂 This was a cool stream. Birds are just so amazing. All birds are amazing, these guys are just a different amazing. And their human helpers are great. 😂 I wish all birds in homes had enrichment and care at even a fraction of this. It would make their lives so much better. Good Yule to all! 🕯️🔔🌰🍊🌲
i think apollo could learn textures pretty well, like smooth rock vs rough rock or hard plastic (wario, shrek) vs soft plastic (croc). plant textures seem tricky tho, but i’d love to see the little guy try!
Interesting to see pepperberg type training in a family environment. Dr pepperberg left Alex in a lab most of the time. Do you go outside in the summer.? I bring my birds out in a Celltei backpack every day in the summer and they love it.
4 questions: How old was Apollo when you adopted him? What was Apollo’s first word? How often does Soleil, Ophelia and Apollo, train? Do they ever fight! 🦜🦜🦜❤️
you should work on teaching him the names of body parts, it'd be really useful for medical checkups or to help identify pain and injury, things like wing, leg, etc
Neophobia in parrots is hilarious, but it also gets me how they can be afraid of something they've done many times. My lovebird Clinger has clicker training to take treats from my hand. He's done it literally thousands of times by now, but he's still skittish, even though nothing bad has ever happened when he does it. 🙃
Order doesn’t really matter, because understanding numbers isn’t dependent on that, it’s associating the amount of objects with the word, which they do mainly by showing him the value of the number they say on their fingers.
@ yes, but that’s a human convention for patterning and doesn’t really matter. It’s been tested many times that If I taught a kid the alphabet but with an entirely reorganized order of letters, it wouldn’t affect their linguistic abilities in the slightest, because the order is entirely irrelevant, we just have the classic “a,b,c…” because that’s very simply the order we decided to have. There’s nothing really special about it that affects our ability to read and write. Ordering numbers… might…? be important, it’s not exactly as clear since math does have an implied order of value, and that is important for OUR level of thinking, but for a parrot, it’s easy to argue it’s not significant because teaching them the concept of stuff like greater than/less than is beyond their scope to begin with, and isn’t necessary for them to apply a count to objects. It doesn’t matter if they know that 3 is less than 4 if they can properly distinguish what makes 3 and what makes 4, unless you plan to teach them inequalities, which again, way out of scope for a grey, so it’s not worth worrying about.
Why? The whole family is amazing and hilarious ✨ Also, there's another channel more focused on Apollo, the videos are less edited and it's more of his daily behavior. It's called Apollo Archives.
9:25 the legendary low pitch "Hat..?" moment
sounded like "chat" a little bit... he may be becoming more aware
The camera movement due to the cameraman being taken aback makes the moment even more amusing
Is it a hat?
I like how the girls are like "Fu*@K this blue thing but It has snacks"
@@TravisD.Willis I know, why are they so scared of it? 😂
@@aeddiefarmer I mean, just imagine a giant blue thing just appeared in your house and it has snacks on it. I don't blame them 😂

Soleil and ophelia staring into my soul is hilarious.
Can't get over how cute they are
Although Apollo is the star , I really love those little caiques! LOVE the unhinged "laugh"; they always make me smile.
I agree ☺️👌they’re little sweeties too ❤
They have so much enrichment you love your birdos

When it's 2am, I want to be *with* them spinning around. Looks too fun lol
1:28 That yoink made me chuckle.
Also, Tori, GOOD SPIN!
After Tori spins: Dalton - GOOD BIRD‼️🥰🥰🤣🤣😭😭
GET
Ophelia: sprints after snack
The 2 girls are so funny. They think they are sneaking up on the nut. They are being given a free one but are not sure.

Handsome , colorful and sweet birds. Love our Apollo!!❤❤❤❤❤ Thanks for this delightful stream !!!

Be careful, Apollo will learn the Smoke Alarm sound if he hears it too much.
First bugs, rags, *WHAT ELSE IS A PLANT?*
They are deathly afraid of that infernal contraption! xD
I love how Tori riles the birds up on their perch
This is so cute and fun!! Think I'll try and catch the next stream x

it's always so lovely to see you two and the babies UwU
Teach him
"Apollo wants" ❤❤❤
1:29 😂😂😂😂❤ so cuteee
0:03 Of course that is a yes!!!❤
I know who's the craziest and coolest bird in the house.
HAT?! 🤨
hAt? 😰
Damn, Apollo really carryin' this podcast.
Tori being "one of the birbs" for training is so funny. Especially combined with her name meaning "bird" in Japanese
"What's this made of?"
*puts beak around Dalton's finger*
"Metal"
Confirmed, Dalton is made of metal.
hat?
haAat
LOL you just yeeted her 5:45

BIRBCOPTER 11:10
Birds do laugh. Watch Gizmo. Sometimes uses his evil laugh.
Did you name Soleil and Ophelia after the Fire Emblem Fates Conquest characters? If not it's a really weird coincidence that they share names
When asked about their names they answered “easy! Fire emblem”
@likky1 Oh dang, that's really cool. I've only just played Conquest for the first time, so it was kinda surreal recruiting them lol
Why do they continue to be cautious with the blue thing?

The sound mentioned in the stream was the augh sound

Does Apollo ever mimic some of the stuff the sisters do and vice versa?
maybe you should teach apollo "i want" specifically
❤❤❤❤❤
How old is apollo?
those birds are not playing with that blue thing at all omg

Someone's gotta change the battery in their fire alarm
I love Ophelia
That box was very thin.
Dalton dalliances are the best you win, jar open 💯💯💯💯💯Tori is 😄
Do they like millet spray if they do why don’t they have it for treats
Such fun birds! How old is Apollo?
Have you noticed that when you tech Apollo numbers you count 1,2,3,4, but when he wants snak you count 4,3,2,1. That's confusing I think.
Order doesn’t really matter, because understanding numbers isn’t dependent on that, it’s associating the amount of objects with the word, which they do mainly by showing him the value of the number they say on their fingers.
@Syntex366 true but when you teach kids, you teach them 1,2,3 and abc first for a reason. Not 4,1,5, not vzy

my question was answered iw was what is apollos favorite type of nut besides pistash
How did the cork become metal? Isn't metal the material he knows best, or perhaps second best after glass?
Dalton did have a ring on that hand. Maybe he was looking at that?
i think he bit his ring when he bit dalton's fingers and got confused
This will have been asked loads but how do you tell the girls apart?
(also how do you pronounce caique???)
You pronounce it like the word unique but with cai at the start
