I remember those landline phone days.I have made prank calls in the past, I was naughty and a rebel when I was younger. It's embarrassing and funny to think about the pranks I pulled. Your story is funny. Also, thanks for reminding us of the game show 'The crystal maze'. I think it used to come on Zee TV. I remember watching that show.

This happened to me as well. I was the victim of prank calls by one of my friends. He uses to call in our home's landline pretending to be a girl, or may be asking one of his female friends to call me. My parents would answer the calls and he/she would ask for me. My parents thought I had a relationship with some girl. This happened to me when I was in 6th standard 😅 I found out it was him, I told him not to do so, but he continued to do this for a while, I got annoyed so much. But eventually karma hit back. I did the same with him, but not pretending as some girl😂 I told the entire story to an older brother, who was a neighbor of mine. He made a plan, he would pretend as telephone operator, school teacher etc. When his parents answer the phone he would say that your telephone service will be disconnected or your son has failed in a subject etc. 😂😂 It was fun.
PS: Please do not do this. We were kids back then. Such pranks might go to serious extent sometimes.

There is a small incident from the late 90s-early 00s time. My brother used to love dogs but mom dad did not want to buy them. So my brother used to call a dog shop by changing his voice and asking for the price of different breed of dogs by different calls on different days. We knew we can't buy the dog anyway but it was funny how the shop owner never got to know about the incident

This video reminded me of my experience with the first landline phone.
When the landline phone was installed in our home for the first time in mid 90s. It was like a big tech thing for us at such time.
Our favorite prank during that time was calling some random number and asking stupid things ... like "aunty aaj kya sabji bani hai aapke yahan" ? The receiver also use to enjoy such prank calls.
I remember once our landline bill came around 2500₹ which was very big amount at that time.
