If you see the hay water falling off the front of the pickup tines you need to slow the tractor ground speed a tad. Obviously you were running ahead of the rain and speedy can be better (our knotters always knew the weather and stopped cooperating just ahead of rain clouds). Great feeling to get that hay in the barn as people are going to need it this winter with all the feed shortages around.
Like you I started baling with a JD 24T back in 1970. Ran that one for about 5 years, then I ran a JD 336 for about 3 years. I currently have a JD 338 which runs okay, but it has some issues that I need to work on. The 24T made a great bale and the 336 was good too while the 338 is okay. I never ran one with a kicker or a pull behind wagon, we would hire crews of young men, about my age and at times help haul too. Your JD 348 puts out some outstanding bales for sure, I like how it runs, nice. Congrats on getting the hay done, looks really good. Thanks for sharing, I hope you have a nice Friday and weekend too.
Got it all on one wagon plus the Fronteer 😁 Dried out nicely and looks good.
Yea - the over the side hay truck!

Thanks!
Any advice for a 30 series pan thrower? Ours worked great and now won’t throw a bale more than 2 inches.
