Hiking Crestone Peak & Needle, CO 14ers, in 360! - 360-DEGREE (4k UHD)

The start of this out-and-back trail begins at the South Colony Lakes Trailhead, near beautiful Westcliffe, CO. Climbing both peaks from the upper 4x4 trailhead, over Broken Hand Pass, up Crestone Peak and back down, then up Crestone Needle and back down to the TH is about 15.8 miles roundtrip and gains over 7,300 feet in elevation. From the summits of the Crestones, views of the Challenger and Kit Carson, up to the Sawatch Collegiates, to Pikes Peak, and beyond are absolutely breathtaking!!
This trail, trailhead, and pass can be found on apps like alltrails and are popular with backpackers and mountain bikers in the surrounding area. Scout out the area for yourself, follow along, look where you want to see, and enjoy the view!
