- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2010 Kia Optima. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
My dad has one... Runs great. (Knock on wood) And at 80,000 miles... I cannot express how much it has changed my view on kia! Love the car and kia in general. And it has a lively four cylinder in it too.
Well this was a great car, just got rid of it. It's a shame. I miss it. :-(

I've not ever had one problem with mine. I bought it new and now with 124,000 miles have not had to do anything other than oil change every 3,000 miles. It's been a very reliable car. No complaints!

My 2010 Optima has almost 250,000 miles on it.... still runs great.

Still have mine. 2010 KIA Optima LX, gray exterior with the same light gray interior shown here. I have 110,000 miles on the car. Still runs great in November of 2021. The power door locks don't work that well but no big deal. Never had any other problem with the car. Going to try and keep it for a few more years.
I love the styling of the 2010 kia optima. I'm getting my license soon & definitely would buy this as a first car.

I’ve been looking for a good mid-size commuter; something affordable, reliable, safe, and simple. Quite frankly, I think Kia/Hyundai has been outpacing the domestic and Japanese competition for a while now. My commuter/beater is getting old now, and I wouldn’t mind something like this for everyday transport - I like it far more than the Fusion, Malibu, 200, Mazda6, Accord, Camry, and others from the era.
They’ve held up exceptionally well too!

One thing I like about 2010 over 2011 is the trunk opening. 2010 sonata(I think) and Optima along with my 08 Pontiac GP is the rare cars that uses struts which I like over that crushing hinges that are used on MOST cars out these days.
Kia has come A LONG way
I've been really impressed at Kia and Hyundai over the past, say 5 years or so. They've really come a long way. My sister has a Sonata(pretty much the same as the Sonata, and it's really great. Great video as always!

It reminds me alot of the last generation Mitsubishi Galant and the 04-06 Hyundai Sonata's.

pokemonfan8491 it had 85k when I bought it. Now 93k, I drive for Uber/Lyft as a side gig.
Does lyft pay good?
optima 2010 engine is 2.0 or 2.4 but accent is 14,16 so in motor size and
hp. there is difference also the space in optima is more larger from accent.
The 2011 redisign is a dramatic departure from this model, especially the interior.
Ive driven one as well and it is one of the better new cars on the market for 45,000 dollars or less.
you're fried. $45,000 is in the 3 series, tl, c class, q50 etc range

to the people busting on this car because it's a Kia, think back to what Kias used to be. for what it is, this car is phenomenal. sure, it's got a lot of plastics, but this since it's built by Hyundai, it has rock-solid build quality. and yea, hyundai's moving up-market, too. Honda and Toyota have had all the recalls, not the Koreans.
@talldude123 I am surprised her Sedona doesnt have any rust on it yet. We have a 2005 Sedona LX Silver, and it has rust under the paint on the hood. What trim and color is hers?

Kia rio (2004) has a cheap interior. This car is awesome even the older ones of 2002/2004.
People whining about theres no wood and leather in it. Go look for more kia optima/magentis. Leather and wood (and pretty darn good quality to) is an option for this beautifull car!!
Kias seem a lot nicer since 2010. This seems like nice affordable cars for somebody.
How is it on gas tho … because Google is saying that it was 22 MPG
@talldude123 Oh, well maybe the white is a better paint quality or something. Ours has rust bubbling under the paint on several sections of the hood near the grille, and some has appeared to make it above the paint as well. Our sliding doors also have small dents in them from the car wash, but you can only see them in the mirrors.

@Bomchilaka Like I said the engine and transmission where great but nothing else. If you looked at it funny things would break.
@egn83b i have a 7 year getz,the interior carpets tears quite easily,and i have to admit,the air conditioning filter needs alot of changing,but other then that seats,interior electronics,and all of the other stuff works
@Annihilator1111 the 2010 Camry is built in Indiana I believe, and the Accord in Mexico.
Actually, the Toyota Camry is assembled in Georgetown, Kentucky while the Honda Accord is assembled in Marysville, Ohio.

I don’t drive a Kia or a Hyundai but I prefer the ones form round 2006-2011 up until now, especially the 2011 and newer Hyundai and Kia’s, I think they are better made than the 2004 and older models. Over all they seem like very decent cars, I drive a Toyota Camry, but I think they are decent cars, I juts don’t like the one that were made prior to 2006.

B_IQ 11 Well these 2 cars are in different classes. The optima is a bigger mid size sedan where as the accent is a compact

2010/2011 Kia and Hyundais seem nicer cars than ones that are older than 2010/2009.
New KIA and Hyundai autos are just as reliable or even more reliable than Honda, Toyota, or Nissan. Add to that the much improved styling that comes from a past Audi design chief.

So true. Peter Schreyer previously worked as the design chief of both Audi and Lamborghini; so when Peter became the head designer for Kia, he knew that in order to help Kia sell more of their vehicles he would have to design vehicles with a splash of European flair combined with the best technology money can buy.
I like accent exterior than optima but interior optima :)
i think this car is pretty awesome for the price. I am glad it doesn't have that fake wood in it, that is so grampa car. I would like it to have the chrome look most cars have nowadays like Hyundai or Honda.
I've got a 2008 Hyundai Sonata, which is a kissing cousin of this Kia Optima.
And yes, it used to be a rental car. I bought it with 41k, now has over 95k, no problems. Mine's the base GLS model but it also has a power sunroof and driver's-side power seat. It lacks the USB/Aux iPod input though, which was added for 2009, and I am very envious. Mine was US-built in Alabama.
I dunno if it's just me but this Kia seems a bit smaller than my Hyundai. Probably US-spec Sonata is in fact bigger.

@datboiwes3 If they were to get the EX V6 or just the EX L4, The interior is almost as nice as a Lexus especially on the newer Kia's

It’s a nice car but I don’t like the wheel covers, I’d probably take those off and juts go with the steel wheels. Same for any other car with steel wheels.
This thing is like a cross between the Camry, Accord, and Altima gone wrong.
@datboiwes3 I rather buy a car that looks good on the outside and inside even if it's a bit pricey, KIA did shape up though, their cars are getting better since 2010 I guess.

That thing looks like a rental car. I don't understand hyundai and kia because the interior parts don't last the test of time. My honda is 12 years old and still looks like new inside and out other then normal wear. If you buy a hyundai or kia get it for 5 yrs and sell it. I will say the engine and transmission are strong but nothing else.

Any car is used once it's been signed over to someone, even if it has 1,000 miles, still used.
the chief designer of audi now works at kia, so I think alll the cars that got a over do or getting one look sgreat, hey kyle look for the kia cadenza or k5 or k7 that will be the replacement of the amanti that does look like asian audi haha

i don't like kias or hyundais that much honestly. its a good little car i guess. they have such wimpy startups though even the V6s and V8s but maybe that's just me

@datboiwes3 They should look more into putting better gadgets in it, all KIA car sucks except for the new 2011 Optima, NOW THAT IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, might actually get one of those now, my cousin has one and I test driven that one, it's beautiful. I've test driven most KIA cars, they don't come close to Acura, Subaru, Mazda or Honda. Toyota has cheap interiors too =P. KIA is actually getting better.
