Bobbi's vsg journey I completely understand how u feel I've worked with kids with special needs best job ever my best friends son has autism he's my adopted nephew I love him so much and now I'm adopting a son with autism he's grown but he can't manage on his own his mom is passing away he has no one cuz of his autism he needs someone to care and I care enough to love him and treat him like he's mine he's a wonderful kid just never had much love Jacob is such a kind man

Donny was very sensitive soul. many people who are 'different' are often the tenderest of heart and often treated poorly throughout life.I have always rooted for the underdog and always will

I love your stories. Being Donny's friend was a good and fun relationship. To not be included hurts so bad. I wonder if the people in the home next to the trailer know where Donny is. Maybe he'll see this and contact you. And if he's not still alive, I know he hears you, God wouldn't keep a tribute like that quiet.

Beautiful, touching story. I think alot of us knew or have known someone like Donny. If there is no obit online from the area, then he possibly went to a care home or somewhere like it. I'd inquire around the town.Surely someone knows what happened to him. Very nice story Jacob..and I hope you told the SOB off who owned that restaurant. I have worked for many people like him. Many of the dead are better off dead.

Jacob: Your story moved me. I had a lump in my throat whilst I listened to it. You did something that's difficult and frightening for so many of us to do: open your self to someone different: a great example of the kindness that opens the soul and opens us to others. Our penchant for self absorption and discomfort with those who are different condemns us to a hell of our own making. (Lest I come across as a moralizer I'm going to say unequivocally that I'm a 1st class offender in that regard.) My rambling digresses from the subject at hand. That's an especially nice tribute to Donny. There are people that make fun of someone like Donny, those people are shallow, two-faced and hateful and when someone's else's back is turned, they'll talk sh!t about them too. Unfortunately, there are too many haters out-there and few people like yourself that take the time to show people honesty, kindness and respect.

My sister always talks about how good the food at Dillard house is. Her family vacations in/around Cherokee North Carolina every year, and they make the drive down to Dillard House, just cause the food is so good
