My jaw dropped when I got to the chorus, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it initially.. I had the same feeling I had with how you like that. A bigger drop was what I expected but after a few listens I can genuinely say that it grew on me for sure

They had this is reverse, a hard-hitting verse and light chorus. Kinda shaking up things a bit. It’s a grower, During the first listen, I was like “wait…” but after several listens, I am digging the flow, because it’s not their usual. I take it positively, like they are now trying stuff out without losing their identity as Blackpink. I can’t wait now for the album.
I agree on the reverse....alot of ppl seems to have been shaken up by that. Ngl I was surprised myself coz I thought thered be a beat drop and then a deep base going hard with the Chorus like their hylt/d4 but it didn't lol but it sounds sassy and cool to me. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the prechorus...it doenst build up on me like they always do in their previous songs...I think it's sung in a minor note idk lol? Usually i think they always did in major?not that it sounds bad.

The Blackpink members said before the release of Pink Venom that this track has a bright and fun side. So , what they're saying is the chorus is bright. They wanted to have unexpected and fresh song. I love the chorus when I listen to it multiple times.

I totally agree with you. It felt like the chorus was not the most highlighted part for me but actually the segments where rose & jisoo were in the prechorus/bridge and lisa & jennie in their rapping parts caught my eyes and ears more.

people are saying they prefer HYLT but in HYLT it was the same thing, people saying they preferred D4... it's always like that, when a group's song pops people get attached and don't like the music, but after a while it's gone. turns into a full blown. on the 28th of this month they will perform at the Vmas and still in September we will have the release of the album born pink and the title track. 💗
The traditional instrument, Visuals and JenLisa's rap stood out for me ..rest the lyricist could have added lyrics instead of uuhh aaah latatatata....I mean these will take time to grow on me.

Great video Aaron! I actually like that chorus is more minimal instrumental wise because it eliminated the predictability that Blackpink usually has in terms of song structure. Usually the verse is minimal then we get a powerful beat drop but this time it's reversed. Like you said, when the second chorus it feels more natural. I enjoyed it overall.

I only disagree in the way that I think a minimal/empty chorus is Blackpink's calling card for many of their comebacks, Kill this Love and How you like dat, were the exact same feeling of empty compared to the rest of the song. From my view.
@@odinsecho167 Fair. I guess what I mean in terms of "minimal" is that it didn't have a heavy beat drop and a chant-like chorus like the songs you mentioned. This time it's more reserved and quieter because the energetic sounds are in the verses.
I like the Rihanna bit (from Pon de Replay) Lisa did it fit with the instrumental well in that moment. The instrumental from old school hip hop part with JenLisa also reminded me of an old school rap/ hip hop song but I can’t remember the name of it

I agree with all you said . I really liked the start of song (Jennie part) . The flow and rhythm was amazing but the chorus didn't grow on me after listening to the song more than 4 times now . Not my fav song of blackpink but it's not a bad song . It's a good one . Not the best song of 2022 IN MY OPINION but Definitely a good one .

It's a little bit the similar to the arrangements of their hits like Du Ddu Du Ddu, How you like that. At least it sounded different. The chorus is unexpectedly great after having that blowing pre chorus.

@@jenny006 yeah that 3 songs actually. The thing I noticed on BP is when Du Du Du Du became a hit they repeated the same song structure for a number of comebacks now, EXCEPT Lovesick Girls that's why I appreciated that more recently of their comebacks.

Jennie literally ate an left no crumbs. It amazes me how someone can be so talented and smart and beautiful at the same time. The way she delivered every word, the way she spit fire while rapping and her dancing? Don’t get me started. She’s truly the definition of ace and perfect.

This is what you call a proper song analysis. Ppl out there hating the MV and calling it 'Bad' without any proper explaination. I always comeback to his vids for the reactions and he gives pretty good explanations to why he thinks some parts are a bit off and i mostly end up agreeing. The end part was pretty predictable for me too but the visuals choreography and all the buildup outshone the little that lacked in that part. The song as an overall is an 8.5-9 for me maybe its cus im a blink but they still delivered. The Album will most likely fulfill what little was left unbothered thus far and in short, we'll get an amazing comeback altogether backed by a glittering world tour. Great reaction video nevertheless keep it up dud👏

I wasn’t too crazy about to vocal verses , they sounded too light and up in the air in comparison to the rap verses and the whole concept , it would fit to songs like don’t know what to do and lovesick girls , but here it sounds like it falls short , it’s not bad it just sounds like a misplaced puzzle piece
The song was awful...YG/BP's game plan ...long period between releases, starving fans because then they won't care about the quality of the music, recycles music, great visuals and now hoping Tiktok will piick up song/dance moves... no need for good music anymore. Sad.

for me, (no hate)the first verse just have a big impact that when the chorus came, the hype, slowed down(i dont know what term is more appropriate) but its catchy actually. and i like jennie's tone in the chorus. and im a big fan of jennie-lisa tandem in the rap.its like an oldschool hiphop rap.
rose-jisoo bridge part, perfect. i really like their voice in there.they have perfect contrast.
but the last part, not really feeling it. it feels like its lacking of something.. i dont know.

I think the surprise of the chorus is a real strength. I find it really pleasing that it drops back to a more spare sound that lets the girls just settle into pure SWAGGER.
Omggg I REALLY WISH they had a type of really dark low toned robotic voice backing up their vocals during THOSE CHORUSES. Same thing for the second chorus with more intensity. And if there was a slight pause then a PUNCHING beat drop on that second Ratatata. Masterpiece but just my opinion.
I think they could've at least added more adlibs, and more vocal harmonising, held some highnotes to show off their breath control. The chorus was surprisingly okay for me despite me not liking their chorus's for a lot of their songs especially dududu and kill this love bc it kinda hits hard but then the chorus turns out to be lazy or lacking most of the time.
I think if they made the chorus this repetitive they should have added more elements to it as it repeats like either adlibs or raise the note instead of making it monotone the entire chorus. cause the 'Dis dat pinkvenom this' could've been better and made it sound so lazy. A excellent example would be like Aespa's Savage's chorus's which supposedly is also repetitive eg. the 'gimmie gimmie now' part but the reason why it turns out to be interested aside from the hyper pop sound and inventive mixing, at least as it repeats, more sounds were added and Winter makes it more melodical by raising the note of the 'gimmie gimmie' nows as the repetitive lyrics progresses to keep it interesting and not annoying or meaningless.
In general they've also used the Egyptian, middle eastern, IVE'S Eleven theme styled music too much and its getting wayy to obvious and boring. Overall the song was suprisingly good and more listenable bc they finally stopped using outdated sounds and try to use more sounds appropriate enough for each of the parts and not just use some outdated loud party edm NCS-type sounds. As expected the ending came with the typical Teddy Party drop but thankfully it didn't give me headache or overwhelmingness like Boombayah, Dddududu or Kill this love gave but turns out it was okay bc they finally tuned it down a bit. just not that intriguing for me to feel amazed especially their songs tend to give off the same vibe everytime and have overlapping aesthetics, sound and style with Everglow's Dun Dun and Adios and Secret Number's Doomchita
I think Rose is a good vocal but I really want to hear more vocal techniques from her. She almost always sings the same way and her lows and highs aren't that low or high to see her full vocal range. I also want to see the level of her breath control because none of their songs have them ever holding a high note and its usually just plain singing and the notes were never too low or too high. Compared to Loona's Chuu, Aespa's NingNing and Winter, SES's Bada, Mammoo's Solar, Wheein, IU, Red Velvet's Seulgi and Wendy, Nmixx's Lily, Dreamcatcher's Siyeon and Yoohyeon, and Ailee etc. I don't see Rose standing out at all, but its just her voice that is interesting but in terms of skills and techniques, I never got to hear them and u can blame YG for limiting their vocal range, vocals in their songs but Rose's solo also couldn't show her technqiues, skills and vocal range and breath control.

My issue is that when songs have so much repetition in their lyrics, I get tired of them very quickly and them avoid them all together. It’s usually songs that seem “unfamiliar” (due to its complexity, unusual structure, or dissimilarity to other songs/genres you listen to) that require multiple listens.. from a psychology/scientific standpoint at least. I didn’t think this song really checked any of those boxes for me

I really liked the chorus and Jennies first part was cool! The la tatata part wasn't my favourite, but otherwise the song was fun! I think the MV was good, but the fashion was the best! Jisoo's first outfit is gorgeous (Miss Sohee F/W 2022), Jennie's first outfit is HOT red, the outfits they have during the 1st & 3rd chorus are really good and they work so well together (Lisa's are my favourite) (also I think the outfits would go well with INVU music video by Taeyeon), Lisa's hair colour 😘 + her space buns are amazing and Rosé's leather dress & jacket are rock n roll chic.

Ahora, ame la canción como un todo pero reconozco tb que después de la intro y la parte de jennie y lisa, cuando entra rosé con el precoro, no me convence el tono de sus voces como que es muy drástico el cambio junto a jisoo y después tenemos el coro, muy slow, y después impacto de nuevo con el rap Jenlisa... I had the same reaction at Jisoo's and Rose's verses before the chorus - they end in major notes, which was (and still after many listens) offputting to me since the song and background score so far is all in the minor key side, giving that dark, edgy, mysterious vibe. It would have been damn cool if their verses also ended in a dark tone and aligned more with the theme of the song instead of having a lovey melody vibe.

The chorus was catchy but compare to the ‘dark’ pre chorus- its too empty, and for the final sound aka the breakdance was a no for me 😭 although the instrument was amazing but the “gra tatata” …. So you have an expectation to hear something hard, exciting or loud which means a drop, but the producers sometimes do the opposite just like in this song, when jisoo and rose are singing the instrumental is rising before the chorus, so you expect something big is coming, but it is just the drums, bassline and some vocals - taste that pink venom - so it is called anti drop not a normal drop. You can listen aespa savage to have a better understanding

I agree with the Ratatata which immediately reminded me of Latata, they could've slapped some verse there--hopefully they will in their concerts--like how Boombayah outro'd...but yeah it's BP production, their voices carried the song well, still, hopefully they do get start using less and less of some of these formats/templates they've been using for several years now...till then, I'm looking forward to your Born Pink reactions
