    There's just something about Watame that attracts these kind of wholesome superchats. My all time favorite is when Watame was reading a superchat of a father with the words of his 5 year old daughter and Watame trying to interact with that little girl. My second favorite would be that bittersweet superchat about a person with terrible short term memory and how they said that Watame's merch would serve as a memory capsule for them.
    I love the different clips of holomembers being funny and having fun, but what really made me stay in this rabbit hole are these wholesome moments.

    • @nyannyan443

      Same. At first I got drawn by the memes and funny clips, but I got hooked in by their wholesomeness as I got to know them. Watame just has this comforting and pleasant aura around her. She bares her heart on her wrist and it just makes her feel more genuine and someone that you can confide in too.
      This makes me remember that one comment someone had on that Subaru and Sora clip where they talk about the difference between their chats/comments and how they kinda reflect the streamer.

    While not at that degree i also was saved by Hololive, after losing my job and career because of a stupid mistake i was deep in dark thoughts, depressed and anxious at nights i would watch videos in bed until falling sleep to prevent the bad thoughts (first time in my life, usually i always slept without my phone in bed) until some clips got recommended; It was not much but it kept my mind busy and helped me through. A year has passed and i don't know where i would have been if not for this group of lovable dorks.

      I was in the similar situation last year. Thanks to the pandemic I was forced to resign from my job. Job hunting in the middle of pandemic is 100x worse than in the normal situation and I had a fight with my parents. Coupled with the quarantine, my mental health deteriorated and I suffer severe anxiety. But then I found Hololive clip (Kanatan's in my case) and then suddenly lots of clips were recommended. From there on, I was always happy watching Hololive and their clips and I was able to sort out myself again. Those girls do bring happiness and I was forever grateful.
      Honestly, the mental damage back then was so severe that I still have an episode, but knowing that I still have my hololive girls to make me smile really alleviate the stress.

      The smallest of events can have a big impact in the long run - in one form or another.

    I'm glad she is so warm, and I've said it once but I'll say it again, I hoped that while she cares about people she doesn't overburden herself with these harrowing stories and project too hard or stress herself out by trying too hard to please.
    But I seem to have worried for nothing, as she seemed to be able to see how wide the world is, and how people can be in a dark place as she was, but can pick themselves up with support on day. That is why I can't really ever give up on humanity, when I see so many reminders of people like Watame that seem to care genuinely that people in pain can make it through that dark patch.

"I dont want to be born" (or something along those line). That line for me is a suicidal thoughts for a kid. If you dig deeper in her background story, she does have a sad childhood.

I'm at the age where I suppose a man would often have a family and children and Hololive has given me so much joy in a similar way watching kids would. Cuteness, energy, humor, entertainment, to distract me from negative and bitter feelings. I'm so happy that after finding a few clips and liking em, HoloEN happened that really made me involved.
    Especially as my therapy had gotten me in a much better place right before Covid and then all group therapies etc. were cancelled, sending me into quite possibly the worst time of my life, due to the frustration of there being another setback and increase in my secluded anxiety fueled "lifestyle".
    As "sad" as it is to still be alone (and realizing these entertainers aren't my actual social relationships) I genuinely think that these girls at least make me FEEL a whole lot less lonely and miserable, remembering there are things to smile about.

    Yeah, lost my job earlier this year, and was in a pretty low place, but seeing all these girls work their asses off, despite it all, giving it everything they've got reminded me that it's not game over until you quit. It didn't matter how hard the days were, watching these legends always make me laugh out loud, like a genuine guffaw, and then it just dawned on me that everything will be alright. Thank God for these girls, and I hope I'll never find a way out of this rabbit hole, and that it goes on forever.

    Vtubers are quite literally the reason I'm going to Japan for undergrad next year, and that fact will never cease to blow me the fuck away. The ability of Vtubers to connect such compassionate multinational communities is something you can't find anywhere else on the internet. Whether Watame realizes it or not just by being here she's helped more people than she could imagine. She's absolutely right, everyone has their own struggles and to act like we can understand or even acknowledge all of them is naïve, but bringing all those people together truly makes all of our lives a bit better. And it might even pull some people out of the depths of depression to learn a language and go to school in a foreign country... just saying

    • @cronotriggered4314
      @cronotriggered4314 3 года назад +1

      Also in regards to Watame, I'm not sure if she's ever though about this much but one of the reasons she's my oshi is because she speaks very coherent Japanese that is very useful and understandable to someone learning the language. Not to insult Pekora or anything but the calm sheep has taught me much much more.

    My experience wasn't that severe but I was still facing what was my most difficult time in my life. I still am in that period as of writing this. I happened to find a clip of Hololive talents playing Elden Ring, and I decided to check more of their clips. And just like that, the last two months have been filled with so much good emotion for me. Everything that I kept bottled up for months, started pouring out. All the Hololive talents are smart, funny, skilled, and stuff. But what really got me is how wholesome and human they all are - especially with each other. It is like watching an actual anime. I find myself resonating with them, cheering for their success, laughing and crying along with them. I am and will always be so grateful to all the people that made this possible ❤

  •  3 года назад +3

    I feel the same way, and I think it's amazing how much Hololive has helped me at this point. I leave a complicated job in search of my dreams, even though it's not easy and I have autism, I'm hopeful that everything will work out, because I have all these talents to be able to cheer me up when I'm down.

    I think it's great that Watame said that everyone has their own worries. Because to me, while not having experienced something like losing my parents in a car accident and also being in a very dark place in my mind makes me feel even more guilty and anxious knowing other people have it off worse.

    • @Harkz0r
      @Harkz0r 3 года назад

      I used to give myself a hard time over things like that, but I ultimately realised it doesn't serve any helpful purpose. Simply knowing that other people have gone through far worse doesn't make your own struggles seem any less real to you. At least that's how it is for me. Perspective can be encouraging, but also demotivating. At the end of the day, nobody can truly know what someone else is going through. We just owe it to ourselves to keep on doing the best we can.

      Just the opposite, people as kind as Watame tend to be fueled by these kinds of statements so that they want to work even harder to be like that. The funny thing is, these people aren't actors, this is how they truly are, how they truly feel. When Watame started to cry, she was really feeling the gratitude for such a kind comment thrown her way. That's what I like about Hololive. Even though they are branded as idols, which tend to train in acting, these talents are entirely genuine unless they are playing into a comedic bit.

That's why watching the HoloMembers grow and attract lots and lots of people and helping them with their problems without the HoloMembers knowing anything on how much they have helped us through their journey is one of the special things that they had done [Insert thoughts] , this is also why I fell into the rabbit hole and continue on seeing them .......ahhhhh such a life we are given~~ We've been blessed

    First: if you wan't to watch watame you need to be ready to be struck by sadness, wholesomeness and other emotions at the same time.
    Second: watame has such a different vibe from the others imo. she's comfy and chill, but it's not just cuteness, she can bring you to sleep or calm you down, and she can turn your sadness into happiness. it's not some sort of compliment, it's honestly what i feel, she REALLY embodies the feeling of a sheep if you know what i mean. it's strange, but i think alot of the people she has the power to "save" are naturally attracted to her, and find their way here. it's honestly so wholesome and heartwarming... i don't know if there's a better way to express what i'm saying, but it's difficult for me to think of a clear explanation
    Third: i'm glad watame decided to take this future. there were multiple choices that had to be made for her to be where she is today, and alot of people were quite literally saved by this outcome. i hope watame can stay like this for a long time

Keep that in mind before lashing out at people and even if you don't want to make the world a better place keep it in mind to keep the world from being worse.
    Next time someone calls you names online or you feel like insulting someone keep that fact in mind. You don't know if something is frustrating them or if their life is hell or what people are going through at all

    Miko's GTA5 moment on Twitter started me on the path. Coco was the first follow, and Watame was the second, then everyone else followed suit thereafter. Everyone in HoloLive has left an impact on me in some way, and between them as well as the other VTubers out there I've followed, I'm alive and enjoying something in life next to great music and connected communities. This all keeps me sane and not snapping. I'm impressed with pretty much everything about Watame, so I'm glad I found out about her early on in this way.
    Thanks to HL and everyone else out there, I have reason to tune out my very unfortunate circumstances of a blood family that continues BS from decades ago as if it was only yesterday, with their selfish siblings/family contributing to it and not returning help we've given. Bearing the collective burden of all of this as an ill-advised single point of failure has robbed me of opportunities I should have had and been fulfilling. Hearing the details of this would shock and ANGER you to no end. Being subjected to this is a drain on the heart, mind and soul. It's like I'm the only one with integrity and honesty - *_the only one who isn't selfish_* - within my family. So I basically use my time to watch & listen to everyone in HoloLive and beyond as my way through life.
    Coco may have graduated, but I will not forget the first pair I followed. Watame is still here, and I'm very happy for it.

    This is the essence of not just Hololive and Vtuber, but the whole of RUclips in general. Helping people in depressing times so that they can stand back up on their own two feet, not just in entertainment through what they do, but with words like these.
    I still am finding my own words to express these thoughts so I do apologize if some meaning is lost.
