I recommend you read the amazing novel version, it's mixing between love, sadness, happiness, meaningful of Matsuri's life and ppl around her. Until now this novel still deeply has a place in my heart
the English name is "the last ten year" by Ruka Kosaka, i think this novel probably is translated to English, Ruka wrote not much novel so you can find her works easily in a bookstore

The film, although about imminent death, offers strong emotional support that just around the corner there's always someone a lost soul can rely on. Surprisingly , this adaptation from a book based on a true story , is positive and brings cheer to anyone who's going through tough life.
I just watched this film. Visual storytelling and scoring is so good! That ending scene where it goes bird’s eye view and there’s old man and woman crossing each other wrapped the film nicely!

原作を書いた小坂さんの人生と少し被せてる様な気がした。原作と同じ部分もあったけど20%くらいかな。他はオリジナルの様な気がした。

原作の小説を読みました。原作の中の茉莉さんは漫画を書いていましたが、、、映画では小説を書いていた点が最初は、なぜ？となりましたが小説にしてくれてありがとうと思いました。映画の間間で原作の文字が書かれて原作をもう1回読んだ時に泣けました。この映画は2度泣ける映画だと思いましたありがとうございます😭
