It's good to see Sting rocking with his 3 piece band again.
Should be the police… Who the F are these dudes??!
@@robertjamesonmusicThat’s why it’s Sting 3.0. It’s a different group.
What it looks and sounds like to be eternally young at heart. Right there with ya Sting! 🐝
I was in this audience! Stephen said "it's a Thursday taping, so we're going to bring out a surprise for you - Sting." It was SO fun! We actually taped it on the 12th.
A day after he performed in Detroit. I saw him Tuesday. Being the only new song he played, this song didn’t get the song along and crowd interaction. But the show was a great package of hits. Nearly got an autograph, but i think he thought better of reaching too far off the stage. Great showman.
We were at this taping too! What a great surprise!
But he is not a man to trust sorry
@@ulla-karinandersson9551 huh?
Sting has brought us decades of gorgeous♥️♥️
Sting and Dominic! Perfect combo!!! Love to you!!❤🎉😊
Sounds like Rolling Bruce Peter Gabriel Stones. Nice. Man’s got soul pouring out and nailing it at his age. 😊
Definitely Springsteen
sting’s got a really sweet spirit these days 🤍🤍🤍 big Love 🌷🌷🌷
Sting always at the top right where they belong! Loved the song ✌🏽
Thanks Stephen for having the one the only STING! Awesome song and poetry from the master! And Anderson was one sharp dressed man! Love YOU Stephen 💙🇺🇸💙
"Wrapped Around My Finger" - Fortress Of My Heart"...
i miss the ballads
Dream of the Blue Turtles is a incredible first solo album. My favorite!
Wow he still good. Great to see him playing again. 👍
Sting is... well, Sting. So, how can you not listen, or at least try to listen. But I think I want those three minutes back.
I hear. He's capable of better. The lyrics were a pastiche of clichés.
likewise, love his music by this derivative of SO many other songs
I couldn't have said it better.
Kinda has a U2 vibe. Not his best work but still good compared to newer music.
My first thought was, oh, he wrote a simple, dumb song because he needed to fill up the album.
WOW!!! Sting still sounds great!!❤❤❤❤❤
lol this sounds like shit... are you kidding?
Different strokes for different folks...some day you could decide to like it. It's happened to me@@robdiqulous
Love love love him. All the genres just love him.❤❤❤❤
Love the Sting's vocal intro. King of ballads, sweet bullet to our hearts. 💙💙
The expression on Dominic's face is how I feel about this song
Love this new song STING
He’s going to be 72 on Oct 2! Wow, he’s still my high school band member crush!
73............
@@thewomble1509 oh yeah, he’s 72 now. We share the same bday.
Was lucky enough to see Sting with the Police in concert back in the early 2000s.
The reunion tour! The Tokyo show on youtube is astonishing.
Given how Sting's the visual and personality inspiration for John Constantine/Hellblazer (even writing an intro for John's 30th anniversary) I hope Gunn gives him even a small role in whatever Constantine project happens next
Wonderful song!!! From your heart to mine 🙏😍
I love Sting, he’s an awesome human being 🦋🦋🦋🦋
He looks great and sounds great! 72
He sounds bloody awful.
@@thewomble1509 Awe, no videos of you playing your little guitar? Haha!
@@Sawlon You couldn't afford them darling! Don't trip over that ego, now!
@@thewomble1509 Love your vids!!! lol
@@Sawlon Ditto.............
I saw it live in Bratislava... Sting and the band was great. Most of the set was actually Police songs (or so it felt at least), but all the essential songs were there - all working great with the power trio. Great show. America, enjoy it!
IT'S STING!!!! 🦂
Oh its that Sting 🤷♂️😆
He.s cool too 😎👍
Magic Sting, great song! 🎉🎸🎤💯
We love sting
He is still SO hot!
I like the new, raspier tones in his voice.
I Love Sting,. I have seen him live 32 times, in 3 different states. Last night's performance on Colbert was the first time I was disappointed by him. First time in decades! I wonder if I'm the only one who felt that way. "I Wrote Your Name Upon My Heart" is a lovely title, but the song seemed so very disjointed. And Sting's voice just wasn't up to par. His beautiful, textured tenure was nowhere to be heard. He sounded like every other rock singer, which he is not. I needed to hear one of his many extraordinary albums to set things right. Last night I chose "Dream of the Blue Turtles."
✨I agree…his voice made me a little sad. I’ve seen him (only) five times solo and once with the Police and I’ve adored him for 40 years.✨
@@pinkcherrymakeup6211 He’s 72
I guess you need to choose to accept that he’s 72, or accept that you expect people to not age.
@@Lisa-vb3gn Lisa, I believe he's 74. He always was and still is remarkable. But it's not the actual voice I'm commenting on, it's the kind of song and delivery he chose to perform. His mature voice is gorgeous and so much better suited for jazz or ballads.
@@mariannesmallbridge9753 He will be 73 on October 2nd.
Right on, King Sting!!!
I really love this song. I seem to be in the minority. I'm a Bassist. Sting was my 1st inuence. I love the way he's playing all down the fretboard creating some really interesting chords in combo with Dominic's voicings. And it's so raw, grudgy, with a taste of southern rock.
Loveeeee this song and love this 3 man man show :)
Best part of the song is when the drums cut out, the single chord mercifully changes, and Sting actually sings. Otherwise, for one of the greatest singer/songwriters in the history of music, sadly this one leaves a hole in my life....
I agree completely.
Stephen! You didn't shake the drummer's hand and left him standing! Poor drummers having to sit and play, looking at damn guitarists and singer's bums all night certainly deserve a handshake!! No, I'm not a drummer, I'm an Australian bands front man singer- guitarist but if I had to look at a bunch of bloke's arse's in front of me on stage all night, I would really appreciate a commiserative shake of the hand from the shows MC!! 🤣
Great song!
Go Sting.
Fantastic.
X
Sting with Dominic Miller on guitar and Chris Maas on drums... go check their interviews with Master Rick Beato, you won't be dissapointed...🇲🇽✌😎
I like the bass work!
Deus abençoe você grande cantor
Vida longa, forte abraço
Simple Sweet & Sting
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 sting & 3.0 are on fire. so hyped for the brooklyn show
Has anyone seen Dominic Miller (guitarist) and Willem Dafoe ever in the same room? They look similar and both have ties to Wisconsin...
It would better if he had some backup singers. I like it!
I like aspects of this song, but overall the triteness and repetitiveness of the lyrics kind of turned me off.
What ? You didn't interview him ?
That was annoying. He's a great interview
Eventually your team will confess we did a great job. 😎 Cool! Sting will appreciate the archive.

Just wow.
❤
GOD'S GIFTED 144OOO STING 😊❤
Gotta love Dr francis❤
I love Sting, but is he in his retro Yardbirds stage now? If this is the chosen single, im confused...
⭐⭐⭐⭐!!
Not a great song but I’m always glad to see Sting
not my thing but he looks like he's having fun again
✨I have adored him since the 7th grade when I wrote a paper about The Police for music class. I’ll be 54 in two weeks.🫶🏻✨
Time to retire to Tuscany 🥱
2 THINGS. The Police is my all time favorite band. That song sucked.
His voice seems to be crackling
I need a song Sting.
I fell down a well and there no motivation for anyone to dig me out.
23% battery remaining 🤞
oh dear
Sting has been listening to The Boss.
#1
God look who's in the house
At last an important musical guest. Sometimes it feels as if Fallon took them all leaving only the dregs for The Late Show.
Why do all old musicians revert back to rock ‘n’ roll beat and simple songs. Sing previous songs and talent is immense, and you should be writing like he did in the past.
1. Because it’s fun. 2. Because it takes them back to what got them interested music in the first place. 3. Because unlike people who criticize them for making new music, they haven’t forgotten why they still do it.
The main riff is old school, but there are substantial parts that are classic atmospheric Sting.
I like Desert Rose! Not this cowboy wannabe song!
Song sucks. But Sting is amazing otherwise.
Agreed. One of those songs that just doesn't go anywhere. Very mediocre
Is Sting trying to go Country?
I'll never forgive the show for hyping up Sting so much only to inform later that it was pre taped😭😭😭
sounds like his voice isn't in top form, my guess is that's why they decided to pre-tape.
Howdy old neighbor🙏
Naw…. Not his best. It would sound better as a smooth ballad. The chord progression is neat, but the over loud over driven guitars are an annoying distraction and cover up the melodic flow of the lyrics. Sorry. It needs more work, Sting. 🤷🏼♀️🩵
I think it's because it doesn't sound like a "Sting" song. His style is just like what you described. This sounds like a Bruce Springsteen type song - which is fine, but I wanted to hear a "Sting" style song. He's probably tired of his normal style and needed to break the mold. Good for him. It's better than him sitting in his house all day waiting to die.
Okay, so I guess STING needs songwriting advice from someone online...
Maybe his voice is aging naturally so he's allowing his music to evolve along with it. The best know how to reinvent themselves. Catchy song!
Wow 🤩 - you got this Sting ………..
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Sting has written many fantastic songs, but, for me, this is not one of them.
Every single needs a B side. This, unfortunately, is a C.
Sting is 72
Sting needs Stewart Copeland to keep his pomposity in check.
❤ GVB ❤
I can't afford a ticket to see him 😭😭😭 I'm so sad.
72 years old sexy,charismatic,musician. 🤗
This doesn’t sound that good. Rehearsing garage band vibes.
Ha! I was thinking the same. Sounds like the band and Sting are playing different songs in the same key.
I won’t be buying this album based on this performance. Could’ve been any one if not knowing the artist first. Rough.
Real rough
That is silly.
@@D3ADT1GR3 No, it's an informed opinion. At least it's based on logical reasoning rather than your adolescent emotion.
Doesn’t sound very informed to me.
@@D3ADT1GR3 informed? I’ve been listening to The Police and Sting for over 30 years. This song is BS
Quite a departure from his sound. Not sure I care for it. But man he still looks amazing! Hope the other songs will be better. I will keep listening cause I’m a Sting forever fan!
The old man may look like 80's Phil Collins, but he can still ROCK! 🤘🎸
Who is here to listen how this sounds live compared to the atrocious recording on the single
Turns out it's just not good.
Me too. Tbh I don't think it's a bad song, I actually like it better than anything he released after Mercury Falling, but the voice is uncomfortable to listen to imo. Anyway, his music in the 80's and 90's meant a lot to me and always will.
Arthritis is the real King of Pain.
Didn’t like song at first but by the time it ended was a fan
Voice sounding rough
This wasn't great, and I'm a Sting fan. Weird vocal and pointless repetitive structure to the song. Sting is always going to keep trying, like U2, but the further he gets from his glory years the more uninteresting is the effort.
I’ve loved Sting and the Police since the 70’s, but that song was crap.
I do not have hard copies of the louvre...doughter of Sting..know..endless..Summer
Thought he'd at least last 5 minutes. Hunh.
Nice callback.
Where's the tambourine?
Ooops!!!! 🤫
If the comedy-writers on the show were coasting like Sting here, Colbert would not be on top…
(Substandard Police band, even if his voice is still in good shape; not a memorable song)
yeah this was terrible lmao i stopped after less than a minute.
God, damn that sucked!
Obnoxious repetitive pounding.
What a bad way to start a song.
I just can't grip this rubbish. He was an icon. Not anymore. 😢
Good grief, this is awful.
That is easily the crappiest Sting song I have ever heard.
This isn’t his best but Sting has actually put out a lot of great (still quality) songs as of late - despite not being in his prime. Can’t Stop Thinking About You 2016, Don’t Make Me Me Wait 2018, Rushing Water 2021.
Am I deaf or is this only mono? 🤨
It's pretty narrow. Feels like only the toms and cymbals are panned out, and there's a mono percussion track that's way too loud through the whole song
@@perpetualgrimace Yeah - seems like they've created a typical live mix (mainly mono) and used the same signal for the broadcast. Usually you should have two mixes.
@@Fastvoice for sure. Usually I feel like stereo guitar rigs are silly but they make sense in a trio setting like this. And man, it really would have been better if the backing percussion was panned out, especially since it sounds like it might have been doubled originally.
You're in the wrong key fella.
12 Grammys. But this isn’t one of his best.
Sounds like sting is looking for a Bruce Springsteen following. Not going to happen with that song!
