    I found a pretty decent sized Monstera *ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD* last year. I slammed in the brakes (really) whipped a u turn and somehow wrestles that f’er into the way back with a lil help from my then 5 year old. I’m sure it was HILARIOUS to watch.
    Now, she has really bounced back. I sorta just cleaned her up and set her down. Now she’s a mess. I get like 2-3 new leaves every 4-6 weeks. She’s just *s p r e a d* out all her leaves and I’m sure the roots are a jumbled mess. This got me started in the right direction.
    Thank you SO MUCH for this video. As always, it’s helping me get started me in the right direction.
    Also, I garden in the living room floor too. I have a tarp and all that to help with mess, but apartment/condo living sucks Sonya gotta do whatcha gotta do. My husband hates it, but knows HE will be the one schlepping the plants up and down the stairs so he deals with it!😊

    I recently bought a Monstera with five stems that was leaning heavily to one side, almost crawling out of the pot. I had a hard time finding the right space for it, so I chopped off all the leaning stems, and attached the remaining two to a pole. That thing is going to grow the way I want it to grow!

    I live in Florida - and what you bought is how monsteras grow naturally when planted in a yard. If part of it is near a tree it will grow Up. But mostly they develop into a few big trunks that look like they have fallen over - maybe with a bit of an arch. These lovely indoor plants you all shape - are just that - shaped like a bonsai or an apple tree trained to grow flat and horizontal on a wall...

    When you attempt to save a plant waiting two months is waiting for a quick death of the plant. The problem is in the big box stores the plant has already been mistreated/ overwatered/ rootrot and is decline. Big box stores are not spending money for training in the plant area. Anyway, you have to take steps to correct this. You are correct in saying you don't need to go to a larger pot size.

    • @KillThisPlant
      @KillThisPlant  Год назад +5

      I guess I should have clarified this plant didn't come from a big box store, didn't show any signs of root rot, or fungal infections. But you'd be surprised by how quickly more sun, an antifungal spray, and foliar fertilizer can solve that problem without any other intervention.
      Maybe that's for another video.

    I've been able to kill 2 monsteras, so I bought 1 big monstera from a person who was able to keep it for 4 years and make it big in the first place. It was pretty ok the first few months, but now I'm slowly killing it (again). I don't know wtf is my problem. From the past experiences i'm scared to water too often, but also I pour a lot of water so I can not diagnose the problem. I water once in 1-2 weeks and give maybe close a 1 liter of water. I got myself moisture meter and the soil is really dry everywhere but in the middle meter says around 4-5 (moist). I'm really anxious to water because i'm scared of root rot. Also I'm not sure if the plant is just thirsty. Bottom leaves are slowly turning yellow and I'm worried every day I see the plant. In case there is not enough light (because its winter not in Finland) I got 2 plant lights. I'm so desperate I want to call a plant doctor and do everything for me. 😭 I'm LITERALLY ready to pay someone to make the plant thrive.

    My big Monstera is kinda curling her leaves. But not to the front but the back (maybe down is better). She has enough water (at least I think she has). She doesn’t have any pests, I checked and I use a Grow light. I don’t know what to do. Maybe it’s the humidity. Any tips?
