melon I DONT KNOW IF YOUR GONNA SEE THIS BUT IF YOU DO YOU SHOULD DO A ONE PEICE ANYLYSIS ABOUT THE THEME OF KINGS (king of snipers, sanji being a prince, king of the pirates, zoros king of hell, jimbae being the knight of the sea, ect
Yes, people seem to not realize her greed comes from an extremely strong will to save the people she loves from monetary agony, since she saw her mother choosing death to save her and her sister from being killed due to not having enough money. She may tax the whole crew for ridiculous things, but under her economic guidance they'll never lack food, clothing, medical supplies or a safe shelter/boat, and she'll stop at absolutely nothing to use all her wealth to save a friend, like we saw during the Sabaody arc when they tried to "buy" Carnie. My god she'a a well-written character
Nami and Usopp relationship is simply priceless with “don’t you dare mess with my bestie” vibe. The moment Nami asked Usopp to create a weapon for her and by that admitting she needs additional strength proved how vulnerable she can be.
the friendship between them is one of my favorites. I love that they have a genuine bond over being the weakest crew mates and support each other as a result. All of their interactions are gold tbh
I feel like having caught up with the series and looking back on her greed, it's not exactly "Scrooge McDuck loves money" greed, but a genuine understanding of money's value. She spent most of her childhood scraping together money to pay back Arlong, so along with keeping the Merry/Sunny afloat and the crew fed, it's something that just stuck with her since childhood, she values money because it was literally the difference between life and death for Nami and her village.
I don’t think people realize how scary it is for Nami to ask for help. Right after Bellemere dies, she gets kidnapped. And she obviously cries out for help. And Gen-San, who is like a father to her, tries to save her. And he gets cut up, still scarred to this day. It showed her that if people try to help her they’ll get hurt.
Nami's story is so emotional and so good. Her strength is admirable, especially when she forgives Hacachi in Sabaody and Jimbei in Fish Man Island. Such a good character.
Oh, yes! That is one of my personal favourite moments about her. Melon says she's a witch and evil, but she's really NOT. Her attitude is, oh yeah... but not her heart. Her heart is actually quite forgiving and soft. She's a tsundere, after all uwu
@@EntelSidious_gamzeylmzthat was Boss being Boss, he'll do it again and again if he thinks that she'll feel better. He was not the cause of all the shit that happened to her and her village but he knows that he had a chance to prevent it since he knew Arlong's nature and mindset. That's one of the reasons why he's one of the most reliable characters in anime/manga
I love the scene where Nami the first person to suggest to use the Skypea money to help fixed merry while other characters were interested in using it for their own selfish desires like more food, booze, books and fridge lock. Even Usopp didn't think of that. And she does it in the most Nami way possible in pretending to take majority of the money away for herself only to revealed her true intent of fixing Merry. This scene perfectly represented your point of Nami's obsession with money is not out of greed. This also shows how much she cares and value Merry as much as Luffy and Usopp does. She's not obsessed with money for materialistic reasons. She just views it as a safe heaven and as a non-violent solution to a problem. It's the easy most peaceful way of saving someone like Cocoyashi villagers and Camie
Also when in Fishman Island, she conned a clothes store into giving her their entire stock for next to nothing. Nami takes pride in her beauty, but she's not the type to go shopping for more clothes just because. It's most likely that she was buying clothes for everyone in the crew, not just herself
She didn't get to buy Caimie and Arlong didn't even honor his deal..... with those 2 situations alone this theory goes out the window. Sure she cares about not being poor (who in their right mind would want to) and tries to resolve things with money, but that just shows how dumb Nami really is since it has never worked. You can't convince me Nami is a good character with such niche things like being an accountant in an anime about pirates lol Her only saving grace in my eyes is that she unconditionally cares for children (yet letting momo be a pervert is something that always annoyed me) because I too love children and hate seeing them get hurt.
@@keithgraham8588 "how dumb nami is" it's not being dumb it's called 'trauma' she had to steal money to free her village for 10 years as a kid i think you forgot about it and nami isn't just "an accountant" she's the navigator and has the most important role alongside robin and franky and see how the 3 of them are the smartedt on this crew
I feel like every time Nami says someone is in debt it’s just because she doesn’t want that person to abandon her, it’s like a way to keep a person close to her, an excuse to not loose them because she’s too afraid to verbally say she cares
For how mean she can be, one aspect I've always really liked about Nami is how she cares so much about children. From her refusal to leave the Punk Hazard kids behind, to her standing up to Ulti for hitting Tama in Wano, it shows just how much of an impact her mother had on Nami as a person, willing to risk her life for theirs in a similar way Bellemere sacrificed herself for children she wasn't even blood-related to. It's no surprise Oda said she'd be a child-care worker if she wasn't a pirate, because it fits her so well.
Nami having a "soft spot for women" makes so much sense to me as I was raised by only my mom and my sister (with the majoroty of my close family member being women as well) I find it hard to trust men and tend to feel more comfortable when dealing with women. I love Nami so much and feel realy sad some people in the One Piece fandom can't seem to look past her physical appearance, usually reducing her to just a pair of huge (although gorgeous) boobs.
I love Nami so much. Stealing a cloud from Big Mom was absolutely the upgrade she needed. Nothing says cat burglar like stealing a part of a Yonko's soul and making it her partner in crime. She's arguably the best written female character in all of One Piece. And I'm definitely riding the Nami is going to get conqueror's bandwagon. She's a Queen. The weather goodness herself.
My absolute favorite thing about Nami is that, despite the fact that Zoro is Luffy's right hand man, Nami is squarely the second in command on the crew. Whenever the Straw Hats are faced with a difficult situation or important decision - where Luffy either isn't present or, frankly, too much himself to make an informed decision, it's always Nami who makes the final call. In Skypiea when Enel was about to destroy the whole island and the whole crew had just reunited at the bottom of the bean stalk, in Sabaody when the crew was barred from entering the auction house and couldn't fight their way to Camie, in Punk Hazard when they discovered the kids Caesar was experimenting on, and most notably, in Dressrosa, where it was Nami who realised they had to get Momo and Caesar as far away from Doflamingo as possible when they had the chance, even if it meant splitting the crew. I think Sanji, especially pre time skip deserves a lot of credit for being really important as a rogue agent who understands situations fully and does really important things like sabotaging Enel's ship or intercepting the Water 7 train, but Nami's ability to direct the entire crew to success is unmatched. Also, the fact that she is so vulnerable compared to most other members of the Straw Hats makes it so, so much more impactful when she chooses to fight. She has some of my favorite fights and moments in Alabasta, Enies Lobby and Onigashima, because it is completely clear the stakes to her own safety are so much higher than they are to Luffy, Zoro and Sanji, and yet she still chooses to wholy and truly commit herself to her crew and their allies.
Huh. I hadn't even realized that people think of Nami as weak. Her kit has been insanely broken ever since Zou. It's crazy that her epithet is still "cat burglar", it should be Weather Witch.
@@TyandOnGoing We also lose perspective because the new world is insane. But if you drop her in East Blue today, she could take over any island she wanted. She could sink Dom Krieg's fleet with relative ease just with her staff and a small sailboat.
@@KaelegoSoul I have a friend who hates Nami and Usopp, he's anime only and so far he hasn't made it through skypiea yet so every time he tells me that he thinks they're useless I just say he hasn't watched enough yet
Something I love is her relationship with Usopp!! Probably one of the strongest friendships among the Straw Hats and you can feel they truly see each other and care for each other. Nami always acted nicer to Usopp then a lot of the other boys and I think that also is probably due to his more emotional openness, as well as having to work with brains over brawns! There’s a countless number of scenes between them but one of my favorites is when Usopp first loses the money in Water 7 and confides in her that he felt ashamed. He felt so horrible for losing the money and he probably felt Nami was mad at him for doing so, but never once does she blame him. She shows an immense amount of care and outright says she doesn’t care about the money. Another great example of her putting friends and empathy over money!
One element of Nami's character that you didn't really touch on is her cowardice, similar to Usopp and Chopper. Which also ties back into Nami's backstory because she had to rob pirates of their treasure as a child, and she wasn't strong enough to beat them so she always had to run away to escape with the money.
I have a friend whose biggest issue with One Piece is that "Nami's only allowed to fight other women" and like, she doesn't hide that she's a coward right alongside Usopp????? Like I love my friend but I think it's that idea mentioned in this video that some people have that a "strong" female character must be physically strong as well. I kind of like that Nami's a coward! She plays into the strengths of her wits instead!
@@colorfulcheshire4181 This isn't really a complaint about her cowardice, though. It's about the writing. Too often, writers will introduce a token girl on the miniboss squad just so that the female MC has someone to go up against, because they're afraid of showing her fight against a man instead. This happens in a lot of media, from Japan to America. And if there does happen to be a fight between a man and a woman, the woman will almost always end the fight, whether the winner or loser, without a scratch on her.
@@colorfulcheshire4181 I think what your friend wants to see is just her kicking a guys ass. She can be a coward while doing it! The guy in question could be super weak! But I think it’s just frustrating to see female antagonists as the inherently “weaker” opponent ALL the time for the weaker members of the cast (usually women but One Piece does a better job with this actually).
Another cool thing I like about Nami is that recent arcs seem to be pushing a more "motherly" aspect of her, as if she is inhering Bellemere's character. From the PH kids, to Tama, to the wounded Zou citizens, Nami is often finding herself in a position of caretaker, nurturer, etc. And while that's a traditional female role, I like when it's done in a way that doesn't insult the viewer's intelligence. And it works with Nami because, like you said, caring about others is something she really wants to do but is afraid to be seen doing. I was half expecting Nami to adopt Tama at the end of Wano, and I suspect she will adopt someone by the time OP ends, be it Tama or someone else (maybe one of the seraphim), to conclude her motherhood arc.
might also be oda's way of showing her healing from Arlong even further, albeit in a traditional female role kinda way. After all before she would never have been able to truly help others in need, having to use them in oder to save her village. Her now being able to be the protector of others is a subtle way of showing that she is not the person she used to be.
I feel like in a lot of modern stuff, we try to get away from what we consider to be traditional or expected so much that we forget that those roles (in most cases) are still desirable and positive. Being nurturing and caring is something we associate with mothers for obvious reasons and there's nothing wrong with putting a woman into that role, mother or not. There can be immense strength in that role, such as standing up to a Yonko or putting an entire village on your shoulders. It's a good thing for writers to branch out from traditional roles, but it's always important to not forget the reason why those roles are traditional in the first place (obviously this doesn't apply to everything, but protecting and nurturing those who need it is certainly something you want to encourage in everyone, women included)
she forgives jimbei that was a really big character development for her especially because of her relationship with Fishman in the past their relationship is precious
Nami forgiving Jinbe was the moment where I was absolutely certain she’s my favorite Straw Hat. She did not have to be this charitable with him, but the fact that she was is a substantial virtue on her part. I’m not caught up yet so I haven’t yet seen how they interact as crewmates, but I look forward to seeing them under the same flag.
I never really saw the point you made about how Nami realized money keeps the ones she loves alive. But the Bellemere scene and the way she realized "this wouldn't have happened if we had money" honestly made me tear up a little. Thank you for making that point. I believe it wholeheartedly.
I am the #1 Nami defender. She gets way too much unwarranted hate in my opinion and while everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, I do think a lot of it is a result of people misreading her character. Which makes me sad because she is so exceptionally well written.
@@daniell.cavalcanti3019 I've seen a lot of sanji and ussop hate , both of them are called frauds and people claim that ussop is gonna betray luffy . But I've never seen any hate for nami tbh .
One of the most beautiful pieces of Belle Mere's effects on Nami that i always notice is that she tends to act quite motherly whenever she sees a child alone in this world. She was the first to care for the giant kids in Punk Hazard, took care of Momo when he was sailing with them, took care of Otama before during and after the raid in Wano, she always tends to random children around and I think that's adorable. She even pulls some tough love punches on the crew, she is 100% an adoptive mom.
Vivi changed Nami somehow, she made her more comfortable with being vulnerable around others. I always saw Vivi as a turning point in Namis life. And without a doubt, she was her first female friend.
9:57 Wait wait wait... That is why she uses few clothes! I figured it out! Besides the fan service, she needs to *feel* the weather, and the way to do that with the body is to have a lot of skin to feel the wind, humidity etc. She uses those clothes not only as a way to charm people, but to turn herself into the multiple instruments of measurement needed to predict the weather. Things she needs to have to navigate throughout the Grand Line.
One other thing I'd like to point out. Nami's refusal to ask for help is because of her kindness and fear of arlong. The last time she asked someone to help her/save her was when she asked Gen, who was immediately cut and left with permanent scars. Since then, Nami refused to ask anyone for help because fishmen are so terrifying and she didnt want anyone else to die. But she asks Luffy for help and for the first time puts trust in her crew to help her and save the villagers who are ready to march into certain death. Then she gathers herself and runs to help in any way she can.
I love Nami's moments in Saobody Archipelago and Fishman Island. In SA, while Nami didn't forgive Hachi for what he did, she was still able to move past her resentment and eat his takoyaki. Her moment also with using money to save Camie shows how selfless she is. "We'll play by the rules! We'll get her back" is such a powerful moment as she will do anything to buy someone's freedom (also shown in Punk Hazard). Also, in Fishman Island, Jimbei was willing to accept any punishment, but Nami's not like that. As she states, there's no point in her resenting her past, and it was because of her suffering in Arlong Park that she was able to meet her friends. It shows that Nami's suffering was not all for nothing and that her circumstances were what led her becoming the person she is now.
Yea luffy and her family/SHs made her realize even though she experienced such terrible trauma and experiences a child really should not go through she wouldnt change a thing as she truly can live the life she wanted because of the events that played afterward. She finally gained the freedom she so desired for decades.
Also, with Jinbe, while he felt responsible, it was actually not his fault. Maybe you can say there was a bit of negligence on his end, but Arlong did things properly, by bribing Nezumi, so that word of his actions would not reach Jinbe. Nami is one of the smartest characters in the series, it would've made no sense whatsoever for her to recent Jinbe in any way, shape or form
As a fellow Nami enjoyer, I really appreciate this. Nami is my immovable favorite female character in any fiction ever. She initiated that they use their treasure for Merry and for Camie who they just met that same day. She keeps the team in check and tries everything in her power to stop the dummy crew from doing anything life-threatening. Her nurturing nature especially towards women and children easily create a believable chemistry with the supporting characters (Vivi, Robin, Aisa, Wanda, etc.). She's headstrong, strict, harsh, a b*tch, but also fragile, genuine, kind, generous, and a crybaby. Oda is so good at writing the duality in each of his character and hers is one of my favorites.
Oh, but she is mean. She is the freaking devil! But it's perfect for her! Being mean is not necessarily something bad, there are plenty of situations where being mean is more than justified, like with see most of the times Nami shows her mean side (though some are purely for comedic effect, which is enough of a justification as well)
@@AnyMEmdq No, I agree with you. I’m just saying that the people who use that as criticism against her as a character are probably doing it because of misogyny.
How Nami cares for others is a reflection on how she has been cared for by other people. I know lots of people mentioned this but I will as well, is that Nami isn't just the ships navigator, she is the quartermaster, the person that takes care of their supplies and money. And as the Strawhats are a family that is a role that is in many if not most households around the world something done by mothers which basically makes Nami the Strawhats maternal figure or potentially the big sister of the crew. Another aspect of Nami's character is her maturity when compared to the other Strawhats especially early on before Nico Robin joined. She was the one mature figure in a crew full of goofy and immature boys.
"And as the Strawhats are a family that is a role that is in many if not most households around the world something done by mothers which basically makes Nami the Strawhats maternal figure" That's a stretch, because you seem to be leaning into only the reagan era style of household, which isn't old, and is very artificial, and even the, the husband of the house did the taxes and handled the money. The Quartermaster in private vessals is the captain of the ship in all situations outside literal battle. They handle the crew payments, duties, contracts and make sure the ship functions properly. Probably less so in OP but she clearly carries weight with her words among the strawhats.
Nami's love for children, mainly girls as they are normally the ones that interact with the Strawhats, shows how kind she is. She's the mother of the Strawhats, always managing the money because she that they might need it in the future, as seen in water7 or sabaody. And as a mother she keeps them in line, Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp and Chopper, not because she's stronger but because they know that they wouldn't survive without her. Although reckless, the mommy stereotype is a underlying characteristic, she's stern when she needs to be.
@@raisofahri5797 Robin is a unmarried Aunt, not the mother of the crew. As an aunt, she can do whatever she likes, she doesn't need to manage the crew's finances and needs.
Nami violently stabbing her own arm in rage of Arlong then asking Luffy for help always brings me to tears. It was shocking and emotional which made me fall in love with one piece.
in The Significant Sanji Slap Scene, nami not only says "goodbye", she uses a specific form of it. while most people probably recognize "sayonara", they don't really understand exactly what it means. in japanese, when people say goodbye, they usually say some variation of "jaa" (later) or other similar terms. "sayonara" is exclusively used as a goodbye when you believe that *you are never going to see the other party involved again.*
Nami loves kids! That is one thing about Nami that defines her too, she could die for children she loves them that much. If it involves a kid she will do anything to keep them safe, like entering an evil scientist's lair or fighting an Emperor of the Sea. Edit: ...and of course, she is this way because of her trauma too. Because she gave up her childhood to work for Arlong and because a great part of her most precious memories are from when she was a kid, sheltered and innocent with her mom and sister. The one thing she wants the most, aside from money and what it means to her, is to not see other kids ending up experiencing what she experienced.
Nami is the most underestimated character by the fandom. She lives with complete freedom, Does not fear the world, helps her friends and holds them above materialistic things like money (She was ready to give away all of her money for Camie)
I never understood the Nami-Hate-Wagon cuz she really has a great character but also great character-development. She was and still is the one that keeps me going with One Piece. Young me watching a girl with orange hair being brave and smart like her surrounded by mostly male characters was everything I needed. I love all straw hats but she is and will always be my fav 🥰
I think Nami wants security but also Control. If She can Control the situation, then She can keep bad things from happening, She can prevent pain and She can prevent losses. When Arlong betrayed her, and She trying to slip back the mask of a confident woman in Control to the villagers who saw right through it, She realized it. That with no money, no security, She had time to think about how much Control She had of the situation: none. She had never had Control I still cry everytime i think about the scene where She broke down, because my heart really went out for her Not only that, her relationship with jinbei is really interesting to me. She had been abused, used and traumatized by a fishman She despises with all the fibers in her being, only to find out that the man Luffy trusts and Will eventually join the crew was the One that freed that 'monster'. But She didn't resent him for it. She got reminded of all the pain She had been through but She was fully aware it was not Jinbeis fault. Arlong was the only One that was responsible for his actions when he decided to take the east blue for himself, not jinbei. Just as there are bad humans, there are bad fishman, but it doesnt mean every single One is like that, especially not the fishman who was fully ready to take on the burden of her pain and apologize for it Edit: remembered about Hatchan, i dont remember if She forgave him or just didn't have any more ill-feelings for him
I agree. It’s also very similar to Hancock. She wants control of any situation which is why she became the ruler of Amazon Lily & that’s because she doesn’t want to go back to when she didn’t have any control when she was a slave to the Celestial Dragons.
I personally really dont like when people say "the strawhats dont act like themselves anymore" or "theres no development" when Wano and Whole Cake gave basically all the characters involoved such a good focus. That was like an arc ago. Great video again , i love these.
Nami and Toph (ATLA) are great tough characters, and despite their differences, both are extremely well written, and their toughness isn't the reason they're amazing characters
Oda: Here are some the best, most in depth and beautifully written female characters you will ever seen in shone anime, arguably even anime in general. Also Oda: 8:20
I love Nami because she is not only very pretty, she's also canonically one of the smartest in the series and is also the most emotional of the strawhats after the rizzed out cyborg Franky, also the fact her abilities improve not by her suddenly gaining a new physical move like Sanji and Zoro, but she learns something new about her clima tact or it getting an upgrade is also very nice, gives emphasis that her strong is not physical, but psychological, and her strongest is when she has the right tool for the right strategy
I think you mean her complete control over the Monster Trio and Jimbe, given he saw her angry just before the current arc started and he thought she had conqueror's haki.
Nami is the character that sold me on One Piece! Asking Luffy for help was one of the first moments where I can remember crying from a piece of media. She was everything awkward teen me wanted to be, strong, sexy and confident. And to watch her break down and finally ask for help with a resounding cry from the boys, no questions asked. To this day it breaks me. I love Nami, witchy woman and all 🖤🖤🖤
28:26, I know this line may have been subtitled this way due to language differences between Japanese and English and ultimately may have been more accurate, but I really don't like how it's structured. It makes it look like Nami was willing to denounce her pledge to Luffy, even if for just a second. I feel like a more accurate portrayal would be "Luffy will never... stop until he becomes the pirate king."
That's *_exactly_* how it's translated in Viz's manga release. The anime clip is either a fansub (bad by definition) or Toei had already taken subbing the series in-house… and their translators are not known for good writing flow
Nami and Luffy's dynamic is probably one of my fav in anime. The way the "help me" scene was built up. From Nami hating pirates to Luffy directly contradicting the way she thinks pirates act. To the treasure talk and how Luffy openly states the straw hat is his treasure then trusting her with it when she was at her most vulnerable. Then obviously the take down of Arlong. But man it goes beyond that. You see how dedicated and loyal Nami is to Luffy. Like not even romantically it's one of my favorite relationships.
I'm always thinking about how much of her abilities Nami is not using simply because she doesn't need to. She IS an experienced infiltrator and successful thief besides being the super navigator. Her Captain's tendencies made it so that skillset is rarely shown onscreen, even though it is a vital set of abilities for a pirate crew's more recular struggles like smuggling goods, not going broke and generally doing stuff without marine interference.
I agree. Zoro and Nami's relationship is super underrated. They argue like an old married couple and in the present time skip days it was so fun. You can also see how comfortable they are with each other when nami goes out of your way to manipulate zoro to do shit for her knowing full well all she has to do is shed a tear and sanji will come running. They are great friends
One thing I love to bring up around Nami, which informs a lot of why I love her, is that she canonically has conquerors haki. Short after Wano, she was shown unintentionally using it, with Jimbei commenting on it in shock. And I feel this fits Nami super well. The prerequisite of attaining conquerors haki is to have kingly desires, and the drive to go for your ambitions. And what better way is there to describe Nami? One of the most assertive characters in the series, with the will and drive to follow and guide Luffy to become the pirate king, and the force of will to dominate the monster trio. I really like that Nami, while not being some immensely powerful fighter, still has an ability befitting of the most powerful pirates. Cause she is insanely powerful, that just doesnt exclusively manifest in making things blow up
I have a theory that it has to do with luffy’s power making her stronger because he knows it’s would take conquerors coating attacks to hurt him but he’s just that scared of her that subconsciously he thinks she must have it. Won’t know until we see the limit of G5 or see nami use CoC alone tho
Wait, it’s been a while so I kind of forgot. Is it around their new bounty is announced? I feel like I need to reread post wano arc again (I plan on rereading the entire manga tbf)
The only thing I think you missed was her short time with Enel. When presented with a “god” she folds and her confidence shatters but when she sees Luffy eventually comes and rings the bell I think that cemented her confidence in Luffy to where it was at in Wano
I think she's always had Haki but just isn't aware that she's using it, otherwise there's no logical in-universe explanation to why she's been able to physically hurt Luffy throughout the whole series despite him being invulnerable to normal punches
@@penepleto1210I have a theory that since luffy now has the low reality manipulation, he subconsciously imagined nami to be using conquerors haki because he’s scared of her and so naturally she can use it because otherwise she couldn’t hurt him. Won’t know until we learn about G5 tho 🙃
You put into words what I've always felt about one piece and their characters. On top of that, you have great visuals and an incredible insight into this odyssey. I am sure eventually, we will disagree, but 5 videos in (One piece video, freedom of genre, tragedy of sanji, the perfect wints, and now this), I've yet to hear anything I am not in violent agreement with. Thank you for the content and taking the time to fully immerse yourself in one piece. I hope there's more and more to come. I cannot get enough!
I love Nami and Arlong Park, she genuinely makes me giggle when she hits the monster trio and get smarts and story always impresses me. She is genuinely so well written, and you really understand why she acts the way she does in one piece
Oda always has a sweet way of putting Nami close to Luffy. Like when he was exhausted from fighting big moms army after fighting Sanji and also when she took him up giant Jack in Skypiea. Next to Luffy Nami is my favorite character in the series. This analysis you’ve made for her is awesome and I love it. 💜
AHH GOOOD THE NAMI VIDEO MY BE STILL MY BEATING HEART Nami seriously is the best female protagonist in any Shonen manga ever, hell she gives other genre's of story-telling a run for their money. I will fight any Nami haters to a stand-still, she is Oda's DARLING and I will not allow any slander of her.
Bell-mere also slapped Nami, when she said that Nojiko wasn't her real sister. when Nami slapped Sanji, it seemed like another example of Nami doing what Bell-mere did to her and it was the only time she didn't say "Sanji-Kun", it was just "Sanji", showing how disappointed she was with him.
Nami's obsession with money, Luffy's gluttony, Ussops cowardice, Sanji's Lust, Zoro's absolute lack of any sense in direction, all these personality traits make these guys so endearing.
I was rewatching One piece and Nami accepting certain death and telling ulti "Luffy will become Pirate King" is soo similar to Bellemere accepting death and saying" yes nami and nojiko are Her Daughters" Damn Oda is soo good really a masterpiece
I see myself a lot in how Nami acts towards people. Honestly got bullied a lot for crying without understanding why which made me more secretive about my emotions. But when anyone I care about gets to the point of crying I don't judge, but rather respect them for being brave and ask what is making them feel the way they are. So yeah, I cried at the scene where Luffy gave Nami his hat. Not just because he shows that he trusts her to keep it safe but also that he returns the favour without any hesitation. It reminded me of how I wished for someone to help me back when the bullying happend and I realised I was crying joyful tears because I saw someone get something I never got, a friend that cares.
Nami is actually super strong now with Zeus on her side and all the power he brings. Plus her conquerors haki and she really shines. Love her story and charscter the most of all the straw hats and how protective she is of all children. Even in Egghead she is reluctant to attack when her opponents look like kids. Very great character
MelonTeee is exceptionally good at making her point. She ebbs and flows between tangents that seem incidental, and dense, hearty unpacking of info that ties it all together. Also she has a very nice voice.
I fully agree with all you said here. It’s mind boggling how there’s ppl who don’t understand her character and call her gold digger, manipulative, abusive, etc and hate her. She’s weak among the crew and she knows it. She also believes in the abilities of other members. But it doesn’t mean she’s always a damsel in distress because she asked Usopp a weapon to defend herself. She’s not a gold digger for her own benefit. She manages the crew finance well, understand each member’s needs, and shares fairly. But when it comes to her friends, she will use everything she has to save them. Her sister also mentioned how selfless Nami is. Imagine how a 10 yo girl carrying a burden for the sake of a whole village. And probably her past also makes her have this motherly attitude that can be seen since Skypiea. She’s not a mary sue character, which makes her so humane and relatable, perfect in her own ways.
Nami has consistently been one of the best characters throughout the time skip, and that really isn't something I can say for like half the crew. In almost every arc, she has had at least 1 well-written character moment, and her most recent in Onigashima, where she told Ulti that Luffy WILL become Pirate King, really convinced me that she, like Zoro, will follow Luffy to the end.
@@blade8741 Franky’s been great. Sanji is one of the wings of the pirate king. Robin had been pretty solid imo, a little undershadowed but eh she always gets her fun archaeology scenes. Brook’s only gotten better with time. Jimbei just became a Strawhat and has shown his loyalty in spades. I guess the gripes are against Chopper and Ussop. Which I agree. They’ve been used poorly and wish their character moments were stronger. I wish Ussop would stop being such a pussy.
@GrayRain0 I do actually agree with Chopper and Usopp...Which sucks because Usopp is my favourite strawhat and I want to see more of him. And as for chopper....I'm not exactly a hater but I'm not part of the chopper defense force , to put it mildly.
Nami's arc in East Blue is incredible, and her moment in Arlong Park is one of the emotional peaks of the whole One Piece. Love that it comes so quickly, when everybody else is still developing, it makes it even more special.
Great analysis as always! One other key trait of Nami’s I’ve always loved is her protectiveness of children in need (the Punk Hazard children and Tama and Momo come to mind), showing off the extent of her kindness in its purest form. Bellemere was clearly such a huge influence on her.
been waiting for this one. my favorite introduction arc and one of my fav characters, so underrated. the emotional depth she displays in the story is second to none, she’s def the heart of the straw hats :).
"Her trust is vulnerable" 💔 Damn right ... Luffy starting to throw nami's equipments and maps and destroy nami's room while nami saying thank u down their will be one of the best moments in arlong arc .... If u remember he didn't even listen to her back story when Nijiko started to tell the strawhats about it , cause at this stage he already considered her as a friend so he doesn't see it's necessary to hear a reason for helping a friend ❤️❤️
While I do love the "help me" scene, I think my personal favorite scene is the one where she is holding all the money Arlong gave her (16:05). You can see her gritting her teeth while she is faking how happy she is to have money now. Indeed after that, she runs away and leaves those money on the ground too. I think that's the beginning of ther "money-loving" persona. Of course, she actually does love money, but as it's clear to us, she would never value money over the other things she loves. Also in 16:20, she likes to TROLL high-class shops because at Logue Town she tried every clothes and did not buy any of the "fancy ones", instead she bought more casual clothes in another shop XD. NGL, small-chest Nami of early One Piece was so cute... and since Oda loves the perv humor and boobs, he could've kept nami "cute" and contrasted her with the "mature" Robin. It would've still been "bad", but at least it would add a bit variance. It's a shame that she is always the token fanservice. Another thing that I regret Oda never did is that he actually NEVER showed Nami drawing a map since Arlong Park... at least the anime gave her that much. Nami is an amazing character on her own, but to me she shines the best in the story when she is in limited groups or paired with someone (Nami&Luffy, Nami&Zoro, Nami&Robi, the weak trio...). She is so funny seeing her interact with others. On the other hand, I like Robin the most when she goes off on her own. Every panel with Robin in it, it's automatically an interesting panel XD.
The scene with Nami and Ulti always struck me since it reminded me of when Bellemere couldn't deny that Nami and Nojiko were her family. I always felt it was a similar way that Nami couldn't renounce or deny her faith in Luffy even in a life or death situation
1:22 best point. Nobody can argue with that. Especially when she stabs her hand and throws sand on luffy telling him to leave. That's the moment for me that got hooked. Other than sanjis introduction at baratie arc
arlong park is still one of my favorite arcs in this entire series and probably always will be. it was the first really emotionally intense arc and it cemented nami in my top 3. nami is such a beautifully crafted character and i especially enjoy seeing how her past still affects her on punk hazard when she meets the kids, and her deep desire to protect them the way she never was, as well as how she treats momonosuke with a lot of attention and kindness and later (post wano spoilers) the seraphim, being initially nervous to attack them because theyre children
Another reason why I think Nami wearing more revealing clothing is because of her tattoos. When we first met Nami and when she was with the crew before her betrayal, she wears T-shirts to cover her Arlong tattoo. In addition to hiding her secret, the clothes hide her shame and despair. When she's in Arlong Park, she lets everyone see the tattoo while she's pretending to be this ruthless person. Once Arlong is defeated, she removes the tattoo and replaces it with the tangerine-windmill--a combination of her adopted mother and her father figure. Then she wears more clothing that shows off her tattoo as a show of pride of her hometown which is now free thanks to the Strawhats. Her tattoo and her constant showing of it through revealing clothing is her showing her pride and happiness of being a Strawhat. And the fact that the tattoo is covering the stabbing scars she'd made also shows that being in the Strawhat crew has helped and heal her life.
One thing I love about Nami is she is probably the most resourceful strawhat. She is not strong, and she is not even the most intelligent member (though she's in the top half at that), but she is always instrumental to the strawhats' survival/victory, one way or another. The strawhats always die without Nami, either at the sea or in land. She will fool the right person, or make the right read of the situation (one moment people don't talk about much is the "cards" one in Dressrosa where she reads Doflamingo's entire hand), or make the right ally, and so on. She always finds a way to be the ace in the hole, usually in a way that doesn't involve fighting. And that's so refreshing in a shonen.
Regarding the parallel to Catwoman and the femme fatale trope, I'm positive that one of Nami's biggest influences is Mine Fujiko from Lupin. The ability to weaponize his beauty, her early fake betrayals and how she treats Sanji make her pretty similar. Great video as always.
In addition to being a key component as their navigator she’s also been shown to be one of the few on the crew that has any idea how to handle money. When it comes to feeding people like luffy, having enough for repairs and equipment, it is a sorely needed ability that not many of the straw hats have
Love these analysis videos, they let me appreciate the show all over again. Sanji's Baratie arc & Nami's Arlong Park arc were what turned One Piece from just another animated adventure to a story with substance for my 11 year old self when I first saw it on TV. It made me feel things no other animated show could. Good stuff
I remember seeing people talk poorly of Nami because she's a "gold digger", which is honestly such a gross misinterpretation of her character. After Arlong Park, she never once prioritized money of the crew or anyone she befriended. And I'm confident that she wouldn't trade them for any amount of money if asked point blank because money for her means that she can protect and provide for those she cares about. If she was as two dimensional and greedy as people like to think she is, she wouldn't give the crew allowances, she'd hoard every bit of it for herself and would only pay for bare necessities. I once had a conversation with a friend about how eaxh Straw Hat would be as a romantic partner and Nami was ranked very favorably. We're gonna completely ignore the whole physical aspects of her, but she's loyal to those who have earned her trust, she's very smart with money, she is generous, her hotheaded personality would mean she'd keep you in line, and she's dependable when it counts. As for her over sexualization, it's anime, what do you expect? I personally have no qualms with characters being sexualized (provided they're of legal age of course, don't be gross) but what sets Nami apart from someone like Rias Gremory is the quality of the character. I do like Rias but the difference in quality is without question. Anyone can make a female character with big tits, but what makes that character truly fantastic is how they're written.
A moment i absolutely Adore From Nami is her scene with Jinbei in fishman island. Not Only did She wholeheartedly forgave Jinbei for what happened with arlong, but aswell saying she accepted what happened to her and is able to fully move on since she was able to meet the strawhats because of the whole ordeal which is one of the best moments form the arc and is why i love Her character development so much.
Her forgiving the fishman while being reminded of her trauma that she doesn't want to remember is incredible. She's absolutely strong in her own way while still being NAMI.
Amazing video! the only thing I think you missed is Nami and her relationship with fishmen. But that's more a whole other thing in itself so it makes sense to not put it in a video focussed on her character and personality. You make great points and back them up well. It makes me really happy to see someone appreciate Nami for the wonderful and well written character she is🤗
Nice character analysis of Nami.I definitely like Nami, from her greed of money to how much she genuinely cares for her friends and family. I especially like her interesting bond with Luffy. It's clear that Luffy has some influence on her, because despite how aggressive she gets with him and how she gets annoyed by his antics, Nami is probably one of the most loyal members of Luffy's crew to her captain.
Great video as always. I truly appreciate your deep character dives and unique perspective amongst other One Piece youtubers. One of my favorite Nami moments that you didn't mention is her pure relief when Iceberg tells her that Robin didn't betray them, but that she was only doing what she did to try and protect them. Nami understands firsthand what it is like to sacrifice of yourself for those you care about, and also just how far Luffy and the others will go to help.
Beautiful character analysis!! I gravitated to Nami from the first moment she was introduced. She felt unique from the start and an obvious contrast from the magical girls I was used to in my early anime/manga days. However, as the series continued, I saw aspects of myself in her (aversion to trust/not asking for help to name a few) as well as some attributes that I wanted to cultivate personally. That take no BS attitude coupled with a massively caring heart is a fine line to walk, but it’s possible!
Wonderful wonderful look at our incredible navigator. One scene around Nami regarding trust that seems so minor in the big picture, though says volumes in the moment, is that Nami is the one Kiku asks if she can join her in the bath. Rather than asking someone she already knows, Kiku feeling comfortable enough to ask someone she met recently implies a fair amount of trust between the two. More so with Kiku being someone who asks for so little in general. The two of them have much more similar backgrounds than is spelled out in the story, with both taking on much of the share of the emotional burdens of those close to them from a young age and into adulthood. And Nami would 100% be impressed by Kiku making a fool of that sumo guy by strategically acting the damsel in distress. Also feel it's no coincidence that Usopp is the one to call both Nami and Kiku out on not being genuine to themselves, during their lowest moments.
Not only does she have a soft spot for women, she also has one for children. Punk Hazard is a perfect example of how nami takes care of children, despite the fact she was raised by bellemere, who was strong brave and didnt have the average traits of a mother, she was still taken care of safely and grew up to be who she is today despite all the trauma she went through. Which is why she cared about those children and took care of them until someone who she saw as a trustworthy marine took them to a safer and warmer area.
@@second1387 That's true! For me it's so cute when those 3 are clinging to her legs whenever they're scared 😄 Aisa is another example, Nami managed to calm her down and they ended up getting close. I love the part when they meet again after Nami escapes Enel's ship. Aisa's face lights up the moment she saw Nami and she immediately goes to hug her ☺
When Luffy gives Nami his straw hat that’s his way of saying “you can trust me”. Luffy told Nami first that his straw hat was his treasure so him giving that to her showed that he trusted her and she could trust him back. Also, I cried again when you put the scene up of Nami breaking down.
nami's moment against ulti in wano after she hits tama in the anime gives me chiiills. hearing her say basically, and pardon my french, "FUCK NO IM ABOUT TO WHOOP THIS BITCH'S ASS" to usopp when he says they should run is just so bad ass and says alot about someone who tends to avoid conflict at all costs, no shortage of great nami moments though such a great character

I wonder how many OP fans forget that despite Nami’s greed, she’s the one who makes sure the crew has plenty of food and clothes for the voyages.
Yeah, I always thought she was fair about making sure everyone got their share "spending money" apart from what's needed for everyone.
She also immediately knew she had to use the money from Skypiea to fix Merry. :)
@@Tessaalera Yes, exactly!
Nami didn't hesitate in the slightest when it came to trying to save Camie from the slave auction on Sabaody, either.
This! I was also hoping that she mentioned Usopp and their bestie friendship too.

the friendship between them is one of my favorites. I love that they have a genuine bond over being the weakest crew mates and support each other as a result. All of their interactions are gold tbh
I always thought Nami's obsession with money isn't necessarily out of materialism but because it's survival for her
It's survival for the people that she cares about.
To her, Bellemere died because they do not have enough Bellies. Therefore, she need to make sure she had enough for when the situation calls for it.
@@xdragon2kand she realized this more when camie was about to be sold
@@Maybe73that heartbreak when she was confident with their 200 million only to be slapped by Charlos' 500 million
That is such a good point.
Nami's story is so emotional and so good. Her strength is admirable, especially when she forgives Hacachi in Sabaody and Jimbei in Fish Man Island. Such a good character.
Also boobs
Oh, yes! That is one of my personal favourite moments about her. Melon says she's a witch and evil, but she's really NOT. Her attitude is, oh yeah... but not her heart. Her heart is actually quite forgiving and soft. She's a tsundere, after all uwu

Forgot about that, super good example
Also when in Fishman Island, she conned a clothes store into giving her their entire stock for next to nothing. Nami takes pride in her beauty, but she's not the type to go shopping for more clothes just because. It's most likely that she was buying clothes for everyone in the crew, not just herself
I always thought of Nami taking the crew's money for herself is because the guys would all waste it.

What the scallop it’s Landon!!!
If you hate men why do you watch shonen then?
@adjustedindividual7177 when did they say they "hate" men? They just said they are more comfortable and find it easier to trust women irl

@@Gigachadbased-p34 bro jumped to conclusions based off his own pre-concieved notions abt women
Nah don't reduce Zues to a cloud. Nami literally owns Big Mom' soul. Or at least a small piece of it. How many can say they own an Emperor's soul?
Nami is soul queen
Would actually kill for Nami to have conquerors
Well said! I love Nami also, such a fleshed out character. I mean all of them are, but Nami is very special to me
YES. Zoro is Luffy’s right hand and Sanji is Luffy’s left but NAMI is second in command of the Strawhat Pirates. UGH you get it.
Huh. I hadn't even realized that people think of Nami as weak. Her kit has been insanely broken ever since Zou. It's crazy that her epithet is still "cat burglar", it should be Weather Witch.
She's the true definition of a glass canon.
@@TyandOnGoing We also lose perspective because the new world is insane. But if you drop her in East Blue today, she could take over any island she wanted. She could sink Dom Krieg's fleet with relative ease just with her staff and a small sailboat.

In your opinion, do you feel her Zeus power up to be cheap and unwelcome?
In her mind it's probably like "well, I consider it money well spent if it saved your life..."

People exist that don’t like nami??
One element of Nami's character that you didn't really touch on is her cowardice, similar to Usopp and Chopper. Which also ties back into Nami's backstory because she had to rob pirates of their treasure as a child, and she wasn't strong enough to beat them so she always had to run away to escape with the money.
Maybe she'll do a video of the cowardly group and the monster group after the character analysis videos.
If this happens I bet she'll be a better mother than Big Mom was... Having taken Zeus is a great connection to this I believe
Since Jimbei is Luffy's friend , Nami Trust Luffy Judgment
Nami forgiving Jinbe was the moment where I was absolutely certain she’s my favorite Straw Hat. She did not have to be this charitable with him, but the fact that she was is a substantial virtue on her part. I’m not caught up yet so I haven’t yet seen how they interact as crewmates, but I look forward to seeing them under the same flag.
I also think it was easier for her to forgive him after she already forgave Hachi who was directly part of the group that made her life hell

@@daniell.cavalcanti3019 I've seen a lot of sanji and ussop hate , both of them are called frauds and people claim that ussop is gonna betray luffy . But I've never seen any hate for nami tbh .
@@SkeetWeet4368 You are very lucky that you have never seen it, there are many opinions in the community that are not worth reading
Well she used to be my fav character but after timeskip, she has way less moments imo. We really don't get much of her
One of the most beautiful pieces of Belle Mere's effects on Nami that i always notice is that she tends to act quite motherly whenever she sees a child alone in this world.
Nami: Yo, Zoro, are ya' gonna BREAK A PROMISE?
Zoro- *Dissolves into trauma and does whatever she asks
Vivi changed Nami somehow, she made her more comfortable with being vulnerable around others. I always saw Vivi as a turning point in Namis life. And without a doubt, she was her first female friend.
What about her sister lololol
9:57 Wait wait wait... That is why she uses few clothes! I figured it out! Besides the fan service, she needs to *feel* the weather, and the way to do that with the body is to have a lot of skin to feel the wind, humidity etc.
She uses those clothes not only as a way to charm people, but to turn herself into the multiple instruments of measurement needed to predict the weather. Things she needs to have to navigate throughout the Grand Line.
Wait wtf I hadn’t thought about it like that. It make so much sense
God, this is such a good idea, that I hate that it’s not stated in canon! 😤💡
Now I'm thinking of Quiet from MGS. Nami is a way better character though.
That's so ridiculously brilliant I love it
Wait wtf....
The only fishman she'll never forgive is Arlong.
I can’t imagine why some people still think Nami is “too mean” after learning about her past. Another amazing video as always, Melonteee!
Also her "mean" behavior is usually just fun and rowdy. Kinda like Luffy. :)
@@Tessaalera exactly, I think people only say that about Nami because of misogyny, unfortunately.
@@evanbarth7173 I wouldn't go so far, it's just idiocy. But again, it would not be negative criticism, imo, because it's true
"And as the Strawhats are a family that is a role that is in many if not most households around the world something done by mothers which basically makes Nami the Strawhats maternal figure"
That's a stretch, because you seem to be leaning into only the reagan era style of household, which isn't old, and is very artificial, and even the, the husband of the house did the taxes and handled the money.
Although reckless, the mommy stereotype is a underlying characteristic, she's stern when she needs to be.
no the mother role are more fitting to robin than nami, nami are the only daughter, ussop, Luffy and chopper big sister she basically middle child
@@raisofahri5797 Robin is a unmarried Aunt, not the mother of the crew. As an aunt, she can do whatever she likes, she doesn't need to manage the crew's finances and needs.
"How am I supposed to turn my back on children who are crying for help?!" line on Punk Hazard always giving me gigantic goosebumps.
Nami violently stabbing her own arm in rage of Arlong then asking Luffy for help always brings me to tears.
It was shocking and emotional which made me fall in love with one piece.
I'm not at this arc yet. However, I can't wait to see her finally join the crew.
you're in for a good time
@@Duda-ij9ki Why are you spoiling yourself this hard!! I assume you don't care, but still, preserve yourself a bit
@@AnyMEmdq Ah damn! My curiosity got the better of me...
Same here. Actually, a lot of iconic scenes from OP make me drown in my tears/feels.
in The Significant Sanji Slap Scene, nami not only says "goodbye", she uses a specific form of it. while most people probably recognize "sayonara", they don't really understand exactly what it means. in japanese, when people say goodbye, they usually say some variation of "jaa" (later) or other similar terms.
The scene where Nami finally asks for help against Arlong is engraved into my soul, her build up tears from over a decade of abuse made me cry too.
She had never had Control
I still cry everytime i think about the scene where She broke down, because my heart really went out for her
Not only that, her relationship with jinbei is really interesting to me. Just as there are bad humans, there are bad fishman, but it doesnt mean every single One is like that, especially not the fishman who was fully ready to take on the burden of her pain and apologize for it
Edit: remembered about Hatchan, i dont remember if She forgave him or just didn't have any more ill-feelings for him
I think she later did forgive him.
The whiplash between Oda's women character writing and Oda's women character design is a test of strength for any one piece fan
I love how her power comes from her knowledge of weather.
Nami is exactly the girlboss the crew needed, and we love her for it
I think you mean her complete control over the Monster Trio and Jimbe, given he saw her angry just before the current arc started and he thought she had conqueror's haki.
Cause she is insanely powerful, that just doesnt exclusively manifest in making things blow up
oh my god, i love this.
@@saerimiese Yeah, its on the ship right after their new bounties, spesifically chapter 1060
The only thing I think you missed was her short time with Enel. When presented with a “god” she folds and her confidence shatters but when she sees Luffy eventually comes and rings the bell I think that cemented her confidence in Luffy to where it was at in Wano
I don't think all the straw hats will get conquerors haki but Nami definitely will. She is terrifying in the best way.
Didn't Jimbe imply she had it after Wano? XD
It's definitely coming. Oda has been canonically joking about it since forever, even having Jinbe commenting on it in recent arc.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 that bitch is not getting conquers haki
You put into words what I've always felt about one piece and their characters. On top of that, you have great visuals and an incredible insight into this odyssey. I am sure eventually, we will disagree, but 5 videos in (One piece video, freedom of genre, tragedy of sanji, the perfect wints, and now this), I've yet to hear anything I am not in violent agreement with.
Thank you for the content and taking the time to fully immerse yourself in one piece. I hope there's more and more to come. I cannot get enough!
Wow thank you so much! This was extremely generous of you!! I will do my best to keep creating good content! ❤❤
dam,20$ Plus a ghost,i feel bad bro
I love Nami and Arlong Park, she genuinely makes me giggle when she hits the monster trio and get smarts and story always impresses me. She is genuinely so well written, and you really understand why she acts the way she does in one piece
Oda always has a sweet way of putting Nami close to Luffy. Like when he was exhausted from fighting big moms army after fighting Sanji and also when she took him up giant Jack in Skypiea.
Next to Luffy Nami is my favorite character in the series. This analysis you’ve made for her is awesome and I love it. 💜
AHH GOOOD THE NAMI VIDEO MY BE STILL MY BEATING HEART
Nami seriously is the best female protagonist in any Shonen manga ever, hell she gives other genre's of story-telling a run for their money. I will fight any Nami haters to a stand-still, she is Oda's DARLING and I will not allow any slander of her.
Goooooooooo !!!!
Da queen is back baby she neva miss
Nami's obsession with money, Luffy's gluttony, Ussops cowardice, Sanji's Lust, Zoro's absolute lack of any sense in direction, all these personality traits make these guys so endearing.
I was rewatching One piece and Nami accepting certain death and telling ulti "Luffy will become Pirate King" is soo similar to Bellemere accepting death and saying" yes nami and nojiko are Her Daughters"
Damn Oda is soo good really a masterpiece
Nami appreciation; let's gooo!
Putting respect on the real captain (when Luffy allows her to be lol)
Hm? What do you mean half the crew wasnt consistent? I dont think I get it
@@blade8741 Franky’s been great.
Thank you for this!! Nami keeps being so underrated in the fandom, especially her kindness
"Her trust is vulnerable" 💔
Damn right ...
You know what's great about the STRAWHATS, they can't survive without all of them being together.
When it comes to feeding people like luffy, having enough for repairs and equipment, it is a sorely needed ability that not many of the straw hats have
I forgot about that adorable face she made at 32:26 after they got sanji back
Love these analysis videos, they let me appreciate the show all over again. Sanji's Baratie arc & Nami's Arlong Park arc were what turned One Piece from just another animated adventure to a story with substance for my 11 year old self when I first saw it on TV. It made me feel things no other animated show could. Good stuff
I've been waiting for Nami to get a video and I'm so glad it's here!
You can already see her soft spot for children since Usopp's first introduction with his kiddie crew with 3 children
@@second1387 That's true! For me it's so cute when those 3 are clinging to her legs whenever they're scared 😄 Aisa is another example, Nami managed to calm her down and they ended up getting close. I love the part when they meet again after Nami escapes Enel's ship. Aisa's face lights up the moment she saw Nami and she immediately goes to hug her ☺
FINALLY I WAITED SO LONG I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT YOUR ANALYSIS
Nami's love of money is inherently greedy, but if FMA taught me anything, greed is not always a bad thing.
Ok stopped the video at 5 seconds, got my tea, put it up on the wide screen and here we go
I already thought this with your video on Sanji and Zoro but it seems consistent for all of your videos. I love (not overexaggerating) how kind and empathatic you look at all kinds of behaviours and characters. It is refreshing and may have more of an influence on viewers than you might be thinking. Tbh I already knew everythign you unpacked here but at the same time, I feel like I can now take these things and make better use of them in my personal life. Not just a great video but also a great voice/approach, thank you. And you're hilarious.
Dude the way you explain the straw hats traumas always brings tears to my eyes and sheds light on how beautifully they were all written
