    Christopher Lee will always be a legend. A phenomenal actor that appeared in over 200 movies; he could speak like 7 languages; was an intelligence officer for Britain's special forces in WW2; was basically knighted; he actually met Tolkien; was a metalhead plus an opera singer for over a decade, the list just goes on.

      He was Dracula more than anyone else, has more film credits than anyone else, one of the most memorable bond villains, was lucifer, death, Saruman and actually met Tolkien, he also read LOTR all the time long before he was asked to be in the films, when asked by Peter Jackman to imagine what it feels like and sounds like to be stabbed in the back he told him he didn't need to imagine it, could speak 5 languages fluently and 4 conversationally, played Sherlock and Mycroft, served during WW2, and he is the ultimate gentleman and legend that will likely never be bested.

    Fabio is one of the most incredible voices in metal. He is versatile, almost a tenor, interspersing guttural voices and clean voices that go from one end of his vocal range to the other. He is one of my favorite singers. He shines, mainly, in songs like Dark Tower of abyss, Holy Thunderforce, Symphony of the enchanted lands and Land of Immortals

    • @bluebehir
      @bluebehir Год назад +17

      I think for guttural you can't go past "Agony Is My Name"
      I think for epic-ness, "Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness" easily my favourite.
      I would have recommended "Lamento Eroico" or "Wings Of Destiny" as intro song, because it creates the greatest contrast later on. Wings has the same "fluffiness" (airated soft headvoice)
      But there are so many great choices, "Unholy Warcry", "wisdom Of the Kings", "Emerald Sword" or maybe something like "Nightfall on the Grey Mountain"

    Fun facts: Christopher Lee very nearly trained as an opera singer when a professional heard him singing in the 1950s, but he had neither the money nor time to pursue the training; he also met J.R.R. Tolkien personally and got Tolkien's approval to play Gandalf, so imagine the performance we might have gotten! Also, you should really check out the albums he did to honor his ancestor, Charlemagne!

      @@sovereigndayyouthkafir3943 well, I will need a direct quote by Lee tbh; because every single time I read that, the original source is an interview of Lee where he says both things (his desire to play Gandalf, and his "meeting" with Tolkien), but they were and have always been shown as completely separate anecdotes!
      And it wouldn't make sense for Tolkien to say that, considering his vision of film adaptation. When they met, Lee was still young, at the very beginning of his career and not famous yet (it was even before he incarnated Dracula, as far as I remember the date). I certainly don't see Tolkien telling a random young man, no matter his talent and enthusiasm: "you'd be perfect to play an immortal divine entity looking like an old man".

      @@sovereigndayyouthkafir3943 Sorry, misread your first sentence! Yeah, I never found any source - neither Lee nor Tolkien, nor any agent / publisher / anybody - saying that.
      I just watched the video you mentioned, going to the part where he talks about that; and as he said in the video, it's a rumour. I think, if it were the case, Lee would have at least mentioned exchanging letters when journalists ask him about Tolkien, but he only ever mention that one meeting decades ago. Or, said letters would have made their way into the "Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien book, considering their direct link to the Lord of the Rings; but there is no mention of Lee or any such benediction in any letter. For me, it's nothing more than urban legend!

    I love that you say classical music and metal are meant to go together. I never really understood people that say it is a crossover of completely different or opposite genres, even if they say it somehow works. For me it always made sense. Obviously there is contrast, but contrast does not mean something does not belong together. When done right classical music and metal fuse so perfectly, that you would not even think of it as a two genres meeting, but as music that was always meant to be this way.

Mr. Turilli was Rhapsody of Fire's guitarist, so you can imagine that Alessandro's voice must be pretty special if Luca traded Fabio for him ;) They're both very good in their own way and they even made an album together (Lione/Conti) which is ok but nothing spectacular.
