How are Randy and Kimmy doing since the loss of Rosie? (Read description)

Many of you have asked how Randy and Kimmy are doing since the loses of Rosie. It has been very hard on both of them, especially Kimmy. Rosie always looked out for Kimmy and took care of her. They were extremely close, and this has hit her hard. And Randy and Rosie were wonderful playmates, often playing and wrestling together., so he too has been missing her a great deal. Animals grieve too, and so we respect their grief, give them time, and do what we can to help them.

I'm sure they miss their buddy as do the rest of us. Its so hard when they go to the rainbow bridge 🌈 and there's nothing we can do to make them better. There is always a hole in your heart forever. It’s been difficult for not only everyone at OWC and the bears, but all of this wonderful community as well. Even though I never met Rosie, I still cried when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I was just beginning to recover from losing Frankie when Rosie passed. Thank you Jim and Susan for giving these precious animals a safe, happy life. Love and prayers from Tennessee. 💕🐻

It is far more difficult to deal with animals who grieve - people can be comforted with words and deeds, but we cannot explain to an animal. Their search for a friend/companion, that obvious devastation about the loss is heartbreaking to see. One tries with closeness, hugs, extra attention or diversion - but it is still so sad that one cannot do more.

Sad but I’m glad they are healthy. So sad to see them clearly grieving. I believe in Paradise we’ll have our animals back too after all it wouldn’t really be paradise without them.
