Well, it seemed fitting that after reviewing a Seiko Cocktail Time, I should review an affordable alternative! It doesn't get much more affordable than this one, to be honest. Don't be put off by the fact that it has a battery. It doesn't look like a quartz, and it'll tick for decades with little more than a $1 battery every few years. Perfect for bling on an (ultra) budget ;) Cheers, Jody

I have three Paganis. Honestly I cannot comprehend how they can give so much for so little. They are even genuinely accurate timekeepers. Incredible.
A $1 quartz watch is a more "genuinely accurate timekeeper" than a $10,000 Rolex.

Everything is a Daniel Wellington killer including the fake, but Pagani Design is not marketed like DW, so will never be on the same level.

@@misterman1371 I wouldn't say "never." It will depend on where people are getting the advertising they're exposed to. And I've seen a lot more Jodi vids pop up on my feed than I've seen DW advertisements, total, in the last few years.
Hell, if people didn't listen to podcasts - and watch vids of them on YT - you'd be hard pressed to find that many people who have even heard of MVMT. We have because of the circles of information in which we place ourselves. My parents still get almost all of their news from TV. They never hear about all the topics considered so important by people who live inside the social media world 24/7. That doesn't make them information-deprived.
If no one in the real world gives a shit who is playing Captain Marvel, maybe it's not THAT big of a deal. But don't tell that to the YT nerd-verse. :)

Just got mine for £26, absolutely stunning at that price. Totally agree that the Seiko quartz mechanism used here deserves much wider exposure. Blue dial model looks fine.
I actually really like the look of the blue dial. It’s really impressive how you find these cheap watches and then make us all feel like we’ve got to have one lol.

Yup I've got 4 watches from Aliexpress (plus one from Ebay from China) that were ordered in early March (first week) and still haven't arrived.
More a homage of the Rolex Cellini Date than the Seiko Cocktail Time, I think.
I wasn't aware that there are 311 days in a month.

In preparation for Pagani’s release of the GMT master...Check out the reasonably sized(Same size as the original), Pagani Yacht master!!!Reverse Ceramic bezel insert, Sapphire Crystal, Great specs across the board...82 bucks...as I wear it I’m not pretending that it’s as nice as the real Yacht Master...But it does make me wonder if wearing the real thing could Be worth another $13,918.Cheers!

Another awseome review Judy. Thanks for highlighting yet another quality watch a must buy for any discerning watch enthusiast. I for one would love to see Pagani and there ilk in mainstream retailers, yes, this would drive up the cost, and may cause some legal issues but it's such a shame that you have to source these fine time pieces from a back street warehouse in China often via the internets biggest purveyor of knock off and fake goods. Mind you who doesn't like the lottery of, will it turn up/ will I get stung for customs/ is it in one piece/ does it work/ will it make my wrist go a funny colour/ is it in reality total crap. Etc. Etc.
Mechaquartz sounds like the ultimate movement. Idk why they're not more popular either

Personally, I don’t work in an office setting so my idea of a ‘daily beater’ is a bit different. Crawling under a vehicle to change the oil, I’m drawn more towards a G Shock or MDV-1061. That aside, these Pagani watches are indeed very nice looking dress casual watches! Great review, Jody!
Late to the Party but just picked up a blue dial version. Loved the look of the dial and a nice cheap one for the collection.
Bought the black one. Very nice. Package itself looked as though it could take 100 meters of water. Nice dress watch. I'm happy.
Mine arrived a couple of days ago. White rose gold. Its a lovely thing. I couldn't identify any quality control issues.
The watch looks everything I hoped for. I also have an automatic movement Pagani Design with a corrugated dial face - it's why I chose to take a punt on this one.
At the moment this new watch is my favourite of the two.
Is the case really stainless steel?
@@crobro6380 if that's what the specs say then probably so. It is a very light watch but then it has a quartz movement. It has stood up well to the wear it has received but now I need to change the battery.
The thing still looks great and is one of the watches I often pick up.

i always wanted a cocktail time, but could not bring myself to pay so much for something that will almost never get along with my outfit, i am mostly a hybrid worker, sometimes at the office sometimes getting my hands dirty, that is why i need either robust watches or something that looks formal but i would not cry if its broken if ever make the bad judgment of having to be called outside the office to do something that could break the watch.
Thats just perfect for me right now. I own a small collection of watches but no white dials or gold cases as i really don't know if i will like the style on me. A watch this elegant and with this price will be a perfect test mule for this purpose. The meca - quartz is a good bonus also.

I have one of the very similar ones, but slightly different and more similar to the Rolex Cellini than the Cocktail time with the two tracks around the dial. Slightly more going on on the dial and I'm undecided as to which I prefer. I'm not much of a dress watch or 'very dressy casual' watch I guess but this is just crazy value. Stupid good value, really. This version has a sapphire crystal and screw down crown and case back.
Really really impressed. I imagine the battery life is pretty low since it ticks 4 times more often.

Ok now I came to get dirty but, it is a nice unit. What a great value. I own two cocktail times and admittedly can afford a serious collection. This Pagani is the perfect young man first dress for an interview. I was wondering what you were thinking Jodi, affordable alternative?, but yes I agree.
I have heard of some medical professionals who prefer their "once-per-second" quartz ticking as it makes timing heart rates a little simpler.

Just bought mine for 29$ Canadian dollars Wich is probably pretty much equivalent to aussi dollars... Seiko cocktail time are like 20 times that price here .. close to 600$ so that is really a steal

The new Seiko presage Has been bumped up to $500+!and it is Thicker than an SKX. What’s nice about this one as it’s actually not a direct homage! Has a little bit of it’s own styling! Kudo’s to you Pagani!

€30 for a dial like that and they're (presumably) still making a profit? Yet another watch that leads me to wonder what the profit margins are for some more upmarket brands. Or, worse, for crappy "luxury" brands like MVMT or Vincero.
Wow that is impressive and looks quite nice. I would be interested to see the date wheel down at the six. Also if it had sapphire crystal for a bit extra money it would truly be a no brainer.
There are the Seiko vh31 too. 4 ticks per sec as well but a traditional date wheel. Cool little movements.

I have a Cocktail Time in blue. This is a gorgeous alternative. I love the 6 ticks per second. It looks like an automatic. Damn you Jody, I don't want to buy anymore, but I just might have to.

You could just get the SteelDive. Sometimes available for around $80 on AliExpress! NH35 movement, 200m water resistance, 316L stainless case, color options, logo/no logo options, strap options.
That "311" in the date compli was fighting hard vs. the 30$ price point in my head. The price point won.
U should do a lot more reviews of Pagani Design models, there is a lot more to review bud! Love ur vids of Pagani and San Martin watches!

Arrived yesterday, absolutely blown away for the price. Miles ahead of anything I've received from Watch Gang basic tier.
You can say that again. Just got mine in yesterday, ordered two months ago, beats both the watches that Watch Gang sent me in both price and quality. This just seems like a much more expensive watch.

This is actually a very handsome watch. If a more mainstream brand or proper microbrand made a smaller version with a mechanical movement and some sapphire, I'd be all over it. That date subdial is a much more unique way to tell the date on a dressier watch.

Looks pretty good for $30! Pagani really have a good thing going. Overtaken Cadisen and Guanqin as the top of the Chinese Specials, and then some
I have a Bulova with one of their 262hz quartz movements with 16(!) beats per minute which makes it almost Grand Seiko smooth. It was around $150, too. The weird thing is it was almost totally phased out and barely used now. It seems to me that these high beat quartz movements are a big step up but for whatever reason, they´re not that popular. I guess it´s because 99% of the population aren´t obsessed with the ticks of their seconds hands like we are.

Another great find, still struggling to get past their horribly tacky name and logo on the dial especially in a dressier watch. I do enjoy my pagani chrono from your recommendation though
No mention of feel, but unlike similar styles its crown looks functional. Often with cheap quartz watches, the crown is absurdly small. A minor thing that easily passes unnoticed...it looks right, so attention is not drawn to it. Although a bargain, I don't like the date style, and would prefer 38mm....but that would make it a quite different watch.

Man this watch would be perfect for me and I'd buy it in a heartbeat but the date sub dial is huge and not well proportioned that absolutely kills the watch's looks and doesn't do anything for me
Just a comment on the last question in the video; I may prefer a quartz movement second hand which hits all of the indices bang on, over one that appears to be a slightly wonky mechanical.
Just watched q and a With swiss watch maker. He talked about the prevalence of plastic parts in the movement of even high end seiko movement. This might explain how Chinese special. Can have seiko movement for 33$.
I don't understand it why would anyone want to imitate a mechanical watch there's nothing wrong with quartz watches that tick every second the battery will last longer nice watch looks great value for money
Not bad, not bad Jody. Easily worth the money if you like that style of dial. I’ve got a novelty Curious George watch that uses the same movement. I wish Seiko had a solar version of the Meca-Quartz. Although they’d probably sell a lot fewer autos. Maybe that’s not a bad thing. Profit margin would likely be higher.

They look nice but I would prefer the date dial being a small seconds at 6 o'clock.
I'm ordered blue dial version about two month ago and still does not receive it. At least, now I know how this watch looks in real life. But the biggest downside of Pagani Design brand, is that they lie about the watch price. They fool their customers when showing "original price" about 190$. No matter how much I like this watch when I receive it, I don't give them more than two stars because of that! Such a big company like Pagani Design need show some more respect to their customers!
But I'm more excited about my custom order of San Martin bronze Tuna :) Can't wait until I receive this watch.
3:19 so the Pagani Design Daytona homage has a screw down caseback, and screwdown crown and yet it has 30m water resistant, while this one is claiming 100m and doesn't even have screw down caseback. What the hell Pagani Design
Now they are claiming 100m water resistance for the Daytona homages. I don't know if they've changed anything other than the claimed water resistance on the caseback though.

Doesn’t look bad, good advice on where to concentrate on spending your money. I bought the Pagani TAG Autavia Homage recently, lovely watch. I put a decent leather deployment strap on it & it’s ace. Think I might get this & do the same. 🤙🏼

CAVEAT!
I think the case on these are brass not stainless steel, so my advice is to steer clear of the IP coated versions if you can’t stay away from water. Mine’s already got some er patina😉.
I own one bought it a few months back and it gets a helluva lot of wrist time, bracelet is a bit of a let down(allegedly steel) came with watch took the leather one off it. I love it tho. Very good looking watch.

Well, it should by now be well known, that the Chinese watchmakers use their own "Meters" for measuring WR. In the West, those meters are known as "Chinese Meters", abbreviated as "cm" in the west.....

Love it. I liked the pagani auto cocktail too but 43mm was too large. As soon as I saw it wasn't a 1 sec tick I ordered one. Hopefully they come out with a green in the future like their auto version. Thanks jody!

I mean mechanical movements sweep because more ticks means more accurate. Quartz watches tick because less movement means more battery life (accuracy is a fixed value), so this mecaquartz thing is like Michael Jordan playing baseball.
I would love to see on the channel more watches with this movement that are affordable and have an original design.

Surprised the date dial did not find its way in to the m&n segment ... first thing I saw was the "311" at the top and could not take my eye off of it.
That movement is great! But I must say, I prefer a high quality quartz like the Omega.

I have an Omega quartz. It has lasted almost 25 years. I doubt that this one will last that long, but I don't really care.
This is a great looking watch. The Seiko Mechaquartz works well - I now have 3 of them in different styles. I can buy another 70 or so before I will have spent as much as my Omega would cost to replace.
