In this video I go over the common things that you need to check for when buying a 300zx. I hope this helps you guys out! Don’t for get to subscribe if you enjoy!
These are young you tubers.Don't be to hard on him he did A good job on talking about A car he at least owns.People always talking about cars they can't even afford to rent for A day.Good luck young man.
I’m glad you mentioned these things can have codes and never throw a check engine light. When I got my na 2+0 it only threw a code for egr and knock sensor. Egr hose was gone so I reconnected both codes went away. Now I believe my speed sensor may be faulty. I’m not getting a signal to the speedometer on cluster and when I’m on the highway it feels like every time I let my foot off the gas it revs high. Going to run the diagnostics for the tcm and see what comes back today.
I found a gem out of state. 1990 NA 99k miles for less than 2 grand! Couldn’t believe it. The timing is off slightly but it still runs. And for 1500.00 it doesn’t really matter! I’m estimating about 4k to put into it. Perfect project car!
Alex Childers appreciate man. Yea, down here in NC they’re priced a lil too high. But up north they’re not as pricey. I’ll keep you posted. Keep up the good work bro.
I had problem with series one PTU. No start when hot. I relocated a series 2 by the battery. Cooler and away from damaging heat from the engine/fans. The reason the series one PTU crabbed out was weak solder joints inside. Heat from the engine caused the solders to lift off the circuit board. This meant a dead car and many folks had to wait until car had cooled in which to restart. Also weak front lower wishbone. Fuel pipes leading into the engine (2 small rubber pipes) would perish (heat again). Bushes can weaken so poly-bushing a good idea. Rear lights/spoilers may crack due to weathering. Exhaust was weak. Must change oil every 2500 miles with a good synthetic. Good video.
Idk if you will be reading this, but I'm thinking of buying a 5speed NA and restoring it, but the engine doesn't run... It was imported from Dubai and supposedly it ran normally there... - these cars are hard to come by in my country (only 1 is listed online in our country for 14000€) - southeast Europe and I am really bashing my head in about it. What are your thoughts? Do you think it's worth it?
HICAS is a bell and whistle that adds weight and complexity for not much real performance gain. And these cars are already kind of heavy. It was an engineering exercise that never really caught on and most race car drivers don't like it. Not that hard to delete but it does take some time and expense.
My friend has a 2+0 nissan 300zx with 230,000 miles he replaced all the basic essential parts that it needs to be reliable all it needs is a paint job hes selling it for 3.5k but there's another 300zx 2+0 that's fully stock with perfect paint. 100k miles for the same price but of course I would have to replace the essential parts of it since nothing has been replaced. Idk what's the best deal here. Need help idk alot about these cars.
I’m 18 trying to buy one with 65k miles for 11k$ is that a good price or would y’all recommend I go for another car since this would be my first daily driver car
I purchased a 91 non turbo and it looks like its been through hell, i wish i saw this video before hand cause it would of saved me a headache but anyway i love the car but im sure parts are hard to come by, if anybody knows someone in the New York City area please reach out to me.
If your gonna buy a z just check it inside and out and understand what you're buying isn't new.. main spots of rust is around the bottom of quarters or top of the hatch on the body itself or for the hatch where the jack goes and spare. But for motor I mean dude understand it's gonna need work now if your even questioning thing's about what could happen I mean keep in mind the price people are not gonna drop dramatically unless it's been for sale over 3 or 4 months but I got my slick top for 1500 with a bad coil in hopes cause of a misfire now I thought that before with my first z but it was injectors but no biggie that was a $600 car lol but my slick top blue up after a month of babying it.. you never know what you buy so just keep in mind and don't get upset if something happens
My T-tops do NOT leak and I use premium gas but you think I'm lying. Make sure the hatch struts work. Wow ,there's a car buying tip if ever there was one.
So in short go get yourself a 370z in excellent condition, pay the car note to avoid all the stress ,headaches and endless repairs that would better be used to pay the car note. Got it.
The whole gas topic is totally unnecessary in Austria/Germany/Switzerland because the lowest octane gas we have here is 95....you cant get 91 or even lower. Usually for our sports cars we use 98 or 100 octane....
@@zthreetwo9874 as a twin turbo auto owner id recommend getting an na manual 2+0 Exhaust for the 2+0 is easier to find Na and tt transmissions are the same so no trans conversion if you want to turbo swap it
@@joshhall2323 good morning buddy, I’m looking forward to buying a na manual trans from a buddy with a blown motor, but planning on tt swapping it since the na motor was blown.. wat do u advise
@@kirlraphael1028 I would look for a crashed twin turbo and get the motor out of that, alot of people just slap a turbo onto the vg30de as the vg30de has higher compression which is alot easier to make power out of, the issue is that it's higher compression makes it extremely likely to blow up, even making stock twin turbo power it's likely to blow
You forgot to show the PTU. You don't explain the ecu codes very well either, just vaguely pointed at the connector. Really you explained the first step to retrieving codes, that's it. Most of your tips are general and not specific to the 300zx. I appreciate you trying, but this wasn't the most planned or well executed guide.

Check your pockets before you buy a TT and make sure they're deep.
That’s for sure😂😂😂
Andrew McIntosh tbh that goes for lots of cars.
Pick one
1. Nissan 300zx or
2. Girlfriend

29,000 is alot??😭😭💀💀
If you want one price keeping on road don't matter
Helpful video, thank you young man 👍
Sounds like a handful and a terrible headache to own a Z32. So naturally I want one 😂
Ya that’s pretty much how it goes 😂😂
you forgot to mention underbody rust. and in the spare wheel holding area . you are 100% on needing premium fuel
I wish I saw this comment 2 years ago lol 🤣

i dont know if you'll read comments on a 2 year old video, but what mileage would you say this car can last to?
Good vid bro. I'm a kiwi and own a manual turbo Silvia s13 (400 bhp) and a manual z32 tt (420bhp)...they are both great, can tell they are cousins:)
Hell ya man that’s what’s up!
Your s13 makes 380hp not 400 but alright
@@joshhall2323 if it’s modded then it could make that number
wish I could buy one that checks these boxes but for my budget I’m just looking for a clean n/a with a manual trans
How can you identify the ptu? Any numbers I can compare?
Hello love the videos keep it up😁
Thanks man I appreciate it🙏🏻👌
Upgraded injectors and also driveshaft bearing if two pieces.

Hey man I jus got a 96 z32 5 speed na its amazing
Is it really as hard as they say to work on a z32
Really just depends on what you are doing, and it’s not even that it’s “hard” it’s just time consuming
No it's not after you do deletes and those stupid egr pipes are the worst thing on it lol
I don’t no much about cars but then I look inside a 300zx makes me feel even more lost... it looks alien compared to my foxbody.
Ya they are definitely different then most cars but they are really driver oriented cars, all of the controls are set up for the driver
You’ll probably hate the inside of a mk4 Supra then
You can use 91 and 103 octane booster
Ya that’s true 👌
Octane boosters can ruin your enjectors just use highe octane.
