- Tag Back is on Round 5, and this time it's something... weird. The 2014 BuzzBee Gunsmoke is a reshell of the Double Shot with one key difference: it lacks a firing barrel but gains the ability to SMOKE! But before you get it the patch, it's meant to do this cool thing! This, coupled with it's shell ejection, makes it one of the most realistic Nerf guns ever made!|

@@WalcomS7 I honestly don't know. can't even argue that they don't do it because it wouldn't be popular I'm sure a bunch of people would love to get a Nerf gun that smoked after you shoot it.
I remember finding out I could get model trade smoke at The hobby shop that smelled like smoke for it it worked amazing (this was a non cartridge model)
This sounds like the best blaster ever! Even without the batteries, at least it reloads like a real rifle!
I had one, it was the best $30 (I think) I ever spent.
Does the smoke effect have a sweet scent to it? If so its most likely a form of Propylene Glycol like those used in smoke machines. Rough guess being PG in a gel form that is heated via that metal ring in the cartridge via those batteries with the air pushing through and doubling back to the one vent hole inside the barrel. IF it is PG, and with enough testing you could try to make your own to refill the caps.
no, the smoke smells terrible but if you avoid it its not that bad
I had a train set when I was a kid that made smoke with vegetable oil. I haven't smelled the Gunsmoke in like 5 years and the train far longer than that, but I think they smelled pretty similar, both really bad

Wish I can find the double shot or other blasters similar to it in stores.
Adventure force released a double barrel recently for only 10 bucks, I also own an original double strike, probably will 3d print shells but if anyone is interested in buying it, I got it
Walcolm did do a video on the adventure force db, I believe it was called the double shot
If you have any Burlington's nearby, air warriors rereleased a lot of their old blasters in new colors, including the doubleshot, with the same shells. Just bought one myself a few weeks back. They were 2021 releases, so they should still be readily available!

I'm sure there are people around who've never seen a Vulcan or its white repaint, and would love to hear about its unique mechanism. I also think it's still one of the coolest looking things around.
If you're taking suggestions, how about the Zombie Strike Biosquad blasters or the RoughCut?
Or maybe the classic Plusbow/Rainbow hopper-fed NIC blaster?
Heck, why not do a MODDED TAG BACK on the Paradigm Shift?

Curiously the thing I lovethe most is that you load it on the barrel itself rather than it being a simple front-loader with a long barrel for looks

I used to have this gun I don't have it anymore but I used to love it yes is very impractical for an actual Nerf war but how it ejected the shells and then smoked after you shot it off so cool. And please for the love of all that's good mod one of these things.

I absolutely loved this blaster as a kid, and it was the blaster I owned for the longest time!
I didn’t even know this existed, thank god I know this now and I love it and I’m getting one for Christmas now hopefully lol
God my older brother had one of these and it was my favorite blaster….then he lost a nerf war and threw it. On the cement driveway. Long story short: plastic and solid cement plus a 13-14 (back in like 2012-2013) year old’s strength doesn’t mix well.

We had a couple of the double shots and side by side shotguns that we used in our larp game, but the mechanism didn't seem to hold up very well well over time... I think they all managed to break down kinda quick.

Oh man, I barely remember when this thing came out. I was so fascinated with the gimmick. Never got my hands on one.
An Interesting note on the Gunsmoke. The rifle is basically an old vape pen that has been placed in a Dart gun.

Even with the smoke effect aside I kinda love this for being single-shot. It looks so much more like a rifle rather than a shotgun which I love so much

this is what the mega pump sg wishes it couldve been lets be honest. God what a badass blaster, I'd love to see you mod it to max out the potential. doesn't even need to perform well but man I'd do anything to run one effectively in a war

Yo! You should somehow make it powerful and get at least like 80fps or something and still maintain the original plunger for the gunsmoke mech. Would be super cool to have this be semi-useable and still have the sexy mechanism!

I'd love to see the two Dart Tag pump action 10 round drum blasters on Tag Back, the orange and green ones that came together as a pack and had no stocks like the mega rotofury but with a more traditional pump instead of a vertical grip

Multiple kids toys used similar liquid fake smoke, usually the stuff that snoke machines use. You should look into what other toys use & see if its compatible!
I've seen that liquid in Model train sets from the old days. The train sets would smoke. I think it was something super simple like corn starch.
You should cover the Nerf Manta Ray. It was so cool how it was a shield and a blaster, and had a great visual gimmick.
I had a O scale train set that did smoke like your blaster,the instructions suggested to use a flavorless vaping liquid
I had this blaster when i was a kid and mine came with a bottle of the smoke stuff and you put it up in top
Might have to get one of these and use it with Diessell's printed shells. They get an unmodified doubleshot up to 70+fps, so I'll assume this will do the same

The Gunsmoke pistol is actually very common here in Canada, I passed on one thrifting the other day. I can send you one if you want.
If I knew the gunsmoke revolver was going to dissapear I would have gotten one, i saw it on the shelf when I bought the shotgun a few years back
You should go over one of the 20-30ish (I cant remember the exact number, it coukd be higher) front loading blasters that used compressed air from a blaster-integral hand pump. I don't remember any blaster names but the one I had as a kid was blue with flames.

Just a small little thing, im 90% sure, that gel that causes the smoking, is solder flux which can be bought at any harbor freight or electrical supplay/plumbing supply store.. You could probably repack, that cartridge yourself
Remember the old old old nitefinder kind of thing? Funky colours (blue / green, not yellow N-Strike), but same layout? I occasionally see them for sale but can never seen to pick one up. If you've got one, can you show that to us please?
My guess is it's vegetable glycerin and propylene glycol in the cartridge. Basically just vape juice but made very thick with extra VG to generate more vapor from a smallest amount of juice used. Probably has a tiny heating coil in the blaster itself or built into the cartridge. Might even be refillable with some trickery.
Hi Walcom, great video and a great smokin' blaster. Have you got a Nerf (Lanard) over under blaster for TagBack? It's a cool blaster (shoots like poo) I modded the blaster to fit short darts, a 5kg spring (anymore than that the gears for the rotation mech bind up) and stuck another grip on the top so it can be fired up or under. Lol. I like the idea of 25 videos to make but it must be difficult to choose 25 blasters. There's a few older star wars blasters that are OK to play with, I've not seen a Tag Back on those, but I am old òn lots of medication so I might have done (lol) 😉 Good luck buddy.

I don't know if you have one but maybe a review on the Iron Raptor blaster by Nerf from 1996..I actually had one of these back in the day..might still be out in my shop somewhere.

My friend had one of these im typing this by memory i just remember its like this model but i think it was a double barrel or the buzzbee but yes it smokes which made me and my friends terrified haha, but that friend left a long time ago so yea.

Nerf Boy Productions included the revolver variation in a group review.The video is still up as far as I know.Both blasters have ~500 shots before the cartridge runs out.
