Just looking at how this runs I can tell you it's nothing like the other raptors. CGA is my home park and I would describe the airtime on Railblazer as downright violent. My shoulders hurt after a couple rides.
A mistake enthusiasts make ALL of the time is thinking that this thing will be wild. Please don't. It's meant for the GP, and I bet you the GP would not like the ride as much if it was super intense. This will warm up though, so don't worry. Still, my dad loved the coaster. I thought this thing was butter smooth, and this is absolutely my third favorite coaster of all time.
I rode in late July after the wheels were replaced and in the evening, it was hauling. Strong airtime on the bunny hill finale and contrasting what you said, the drop off the mid course was insane, not just “good”. I got one ride in the morning and it was SIGNIFICANTLY slower though, so time of day really impacts your ride. I would say if you go to Great Adventure, don’t go here first.
I actually thought it was pretty easy to choose my row by just letting people in front of me. Out of my 7 rides, I got the very back 5 times and the front once.
That sounds kinda awkward do u just walk behind them or do u just say they can go in front of u? Idk I haven’t ridden a signal rail yet so it just sounds like a weird scenario lol
I just say something like “Hey you can go in front of me” and they’re usually very happy to. Another reason to get the very back is that sometimes the groupings of the ppl next when you pull back into the station don’t even out to fit into the 12 passenger train. So that means the back may be left empty, so you can just stay in your seat.
I love this ride and do not understand why it gets so much hate by enthusiasts. I got plenty of airtime, both before and after RMC changed the wheels and before and after the trims were turned off. I enjoy it far more than El Toro, which I find to have no airtime and extremely rough. Plus the trains are much more comfortable on JDC and are among the most comfortable seats I’ve sat in as a bit of a larger guest. This is my current favorite coaster (not best, that belongs to Steel Vengeance). I think enthusiasts really set themselves up for disappointment by expecting this ride to be exactly like the Raptor clones. Since it is not as compact and has longer trains it wasn’t going to be as intense and that isn’t a bad thing. Raptors are also a lot different than hybrid and topper track RMCs so the ride experience was going to be different than the other RMCs. Personally I don’t think intensity always makes a ride better. This is also technically a prototype for future custom Raptors so it won’t be perfect right out the gate. I think Six Flags will work with RMC to make sure the ride runs at its fullest potential. This is far from the worst RMC, as I think it is one of the better ones especially with the trims turned off. Whoever says it’s the worst probably only got one or two rides in a middle seat early in the morning with the old wheels and the trims on
@Jose V. I’m serious. I don’t come out of my seat at all on Toro yet on JDC it feels like I’m flying out of my seat. Not everyone has the same experience on El Toro so different opinions aren’t wrong
This is for me the weakest RMC of the 3 I’ve ridden which are Steel Vengeance, Twisted Timbers and Jersey Devil of course. That being said I still love the ride and I’ve ridden it 9 times with it being at my home park. This ride is not super intense but it’s just plain fun. I will say you do actually pull some good forces toward the front on some sharp turns, especially that one right before the Zero-g roll. I do have 2 issues where in the end the ride loses some steam after the mid-course and the restraints are quite restrictive on airtime. I mean comparing this to SV or Twisted Timbers those things have so much more airtime but this ride still has some good moments especially in the back. Overall it’s my 3rd favorite ride in the park and it’s very close to 4th as I go back and forth between that and Nitro. Overall I still think this is a great ride and it’s in my top 15 overall.
I went on it about 6 times before it opened and it was great until the brake run where I felt like it wasn’t going to make it over the bunny hills, I hope they fixed this problem for my next visit
@ 5:46 you said "probably the final speed hill is the best of the three hills, which again really disappointed me because those curved airtime hills sometimes are some of the craziest elements that you experience on a coaster" From that nobody could know if you think this is a good coaster or a bad coaster but that's the point, considering it's not even one of the top three coasters in the park.
It still amazes me how the thoosie community has huge blinders when it comes to RMC. Jersey Devil is at best #4 in the park. And virtually every coaster runs better after it warms up. Please, thoosies, stop asking, "Well did you ride it in row 11 at 5:49PM with 75% humidity?" If a coaster is world-class, it shouldn't matter. Go ride The Voyage or Rampage first thing in the morning. Those rides are crazy right out the gate. The layout is similar to Goliath at Great America, which was my expectation. It is nowhere near as good as Goliath. You can literally feel every seam where the track sections meet. And the forces were on the weak side. I did ride in the front and back twice each when the park opened and late in the day. The afternoon rides were better but not by much. Overall, Jersey Devil is a nice ride heck; it is a borderline transition coaster, which is not bad. The GP should enjoy it, and it will help the park's attendance. But if you think Jersey Devil can challenge El Toro for the best ride in the park. You will be way off. As Destination Thrills said, it is a slightly above-average coaster. Great Adventure is still waiting for that true top 2 punch.
Nitro and El Toro keep this park filled with enthusiasts. Nitro is very underrated and downright hated on. Kingda Ka front seat by itself with El Toro cou8ld challenge any park out there and still fare well. Bizarro in the front is also underrated. Batman in the back provides crazy wispiness and insanity and we all know about Superman's pretzel Loop. In other words, SFGA is a world -class park before JDC. JDC just provides icing on the cake.
@@thomasnewcomb3632 I do like Great Adventure. Quite frankly, in 2006, it had the best lineup in the world. Sadly Six Flags has ignored the infrastructure of the park. (The Superman gift shop looks like a dirty circus tent) and let other parks pass them by in the coaster lineup. Jersey Devil will help with crowd dispersion and is solid, just not world-class like we were all hoping.
@@michaelflynn6242 When I rode JDC in late June, it was heavily trimmed at the mid point. I only got airtime leading to that point. Now I hear that before it was closed, the trims weren't hitting hard, thus airtime on the final hills. I would like to ride it at least when it is moving at the proper speed with less trims so that I can really give it an honest assessment. As of now I have 4 coasters ahead of it including Bizarro. SFGA could be so much better with a little TLC treatment. I believe that Nitro is still the king of that side of the park while El Toro is the best ride in the entire park. I think that this is still a great 1-2 punch. I think we do a great injustice when we push the narrative that a coaster lineup must have their 2 best coasters have to be a Steel Vengeance and Maverick, or I 305j and Twisted Timbers, or Twisted Colossus and X2. Nitro provides the gracefulness while El Toro provides the insanity.
@@thomasnewcomb3632 Oh agree with everyone thinking the one, two punch needs to be Steel Vengeance and Maverick. That is so unfair to compare to. And someday, when I return to SFGAV, I will ride and reassess Jersey Devil. But I think expecting it to be the new #2 in the park is fair. And as of right now, it is not close. I agree with the coasters you have in front of it. Hopefully, the one at SFMM will have the kinks worked out when it opens.
@Jose V. Copperhead is a fine coaster, and my rides in July were just that fine. The launches are weak, and the pacing in the last 3rd of the ride is sluggish. Put Time Traveler train on Copperhead and I think you might really have something.
This coaster makes you feel like you’re literally flying . So much airtime . I loved this coaster 😍

My favorite ride(El Toro) is unfortunately having some issues so when I get back to the park I'm totally going to this one first

@Jose V. on Jersey Devil? That’s why it was closed? If so I can’t wait to get back and go for another ride
@Jose V. I last rode it in early August so I don’t think I got to experience it. I’ll definitely ride it again ASAP
I was at coaster con too! Just curious, what day did you skip?
Awesome! I skipped the second day at Dorney and the last day at Knoebels
Hope you rode everything you wanted to!

I'm planning a trip next week and I know that Jersey Devil is closed for inspection as of last Friday. Do you know if it's opened?
It’s still closed. The Six Flags app lists ride closures pretty accurately, so definitely check that in the future.
Im going next Sunday hope it open
The Cell Phone thing is a New Jersey State Law, just to let ya know some rides got grandfathered but all new rides have a no cell phone policy
When will it open back?
The hybrid and wooden structures look so cool, the raptors don’t look as appealing.
