    Great story. It goes to show that if we're open minded lessons in life can come from anywhere. Good humor too.

      ZyPhReX I would guess that it wasn't nearly as funny at the time! ; ) With time the funny emerged though! My 7 year old grandson is taking karate now and he's always doing stuff like that to me! A few more years and he'll be able to take grandpa!(at least HE thinks so anyway!)

    That's a great story bud and it goes to show that you can always keep learning no matter how good you are.

    This choke is too real. Keeping kids in line during class is harder than jiujitsu itself.

    Yes, you have to watch out when you're teaching little kids martial arts. One time the four year old daughter of a Karate friend of mine came running up to me and excitedly said, "Uncle Mike, uncle Mike, look what daddy showed me!" Then she kicked me in the shin (with shoes on, full power), and giggled. It actually really hurt, but I just smiled and said, "Oh, nice kick." Moral of the story is, be sure what you teach kids is age appropriate.

    Dope story and Jeff is awesome but if you're working deep half your head should be locked tightly against homeboys leg. There's like 20,000 things someone can do to fuck the deep half player up if your head is loose

    How is the hand position / grip on the actual choke?

  • @wufufufu

    This seems like more of a trachea crushing (air choke) rather than a blood choke. Is it impolite to do this in training? I know personally I try not to make people cough when going for chokes since that won't put you out on its own and it hurts. Is there a way to practice this that won't cause harm?

      +wufufufu im not sure. Though you could be right.

      wufufufu a trachea choke will put someone out. most guillotine chokes are trachea chokes, feel free to use them

      My impression is that the blades of your forearm are against carotid artery and you can use your legs to squeeze them together to add the pressure. Kind of like a no arm triangle when you replace your fist with where their shoulder would be in a regular triangle.

    • @tjl4688
      @tjl4688 2 года назад

      You're not trying to pull your hands through the throat; you're trying to pull your forearms through the carotids.
