I will be in Oludeniz in 10 days Australian pilot. Do you have any advice on flying there? Any particular time to fly to avoid the crowds if possible? have you flown at other sites nearby ? Any suggestions on good food, or coffee? Any help would be great as I will be on my own flying
Hi Christopher, be sure to create an account on: shmfethiye.kapadokya.edu.tr/en/ You will need to login and create a flight, then save the flight card to your phone to buy a ticket for the takeoffs. It’s pretty seamless but best to do the login at your hotel or at one of the cafe’s by the landing where there is good wifi. To ride the gondola costs 40lira and takeoff fees are 90lira (April/May), both paid at the gondola base. The gondola is a game changer and is way more pleasant than the tandem busses. You can still take the tandem bus up if needed (I recommend Sky Sports). Bello gusto has excellent coffee, good wifi and is right by the landing. It is generally always busy but found waiting 5 mins for a few tandems to launch would work but you really just have to get amongst it. The tandems are no indication if it is flyable, in fact sometimes it means it isn’t, you will see it all, somehow it all works out, enjoy the show! Taxis run to the gondola for 50lira, the busses run every 10mins are are 10lira. The taxi stand/bus stop is on the main beachfront heading towards the west from the landing. For great food head to ‘Sema Gözleme’, it’s a refreshing escape from the antics along the beachfront. Everything kinda works so just got to get there and fly. Lots of Kiwis, Aussies, Brits and even the odd American around. Enjoy the flying, very much looking forward to heading back! If in doubt just look around and there will surely be tandems trying to fly. ruclips.net/video/4KLmERZBm_c/видео.html
