- In this video I’ll be unboxing, installing, and reviewing this MTM Hydro Pressure Washer Hose Reel (15m/ 50ft). I’ll be installing a stock Kranzle K10 hose on this reel but it can also be used with other hose types e.g. Kobrajet.
Here’s the link to where I purchased mine from which was setup for the stock Kranzle hose and included the link hose and all the fittings: kranzle-pressure-washers.co.u...
If you order from elsewhere here’s what you may need (always check with the company you’re purchasing from first before buying):
1. If you are using an M22 hose, you’ll need a 3/8 male x M22 male fitting to connect your stock hose to the hose reel. Here’s a link to a stainless steel one: carscope.co.uk/products/m22-x... If you’re using a hose with quick disconnects then you’ll need a 3/8 male fitting to attach to your hose (the will vary depending whether your hose has a male or female 3/8 fitting attached).
2. You’ll also need a link hose to connect the hose reel to the pressure washer. The outlet on the hose reel is a 3/8 male, so you’ll need a 3/8 female attachment on this end (you can either get a link hose with this 3/8 female attachment, or get an M22 male to 3/8 female adapter if you’re using a link hose which has an M22 female connection at both ends - again this may vary depending on whether you’re using quick connects). The other end of the hose will connect to the pressure washer, in this case it was M22 x 14 female connection, but may vary with other pressure washers.
3. Mounting equipment
If you’re unsure what connections etc. you’ll need for your pressure washer, please contact the company you plan on purchasing the hose reel from as they should be able to advise.

I am really jealous in the fact you have an indoor space for your detailing kit and now a hose reel mounted for easy of use and a tidy option. The rest of us will keep at it outside in the elements. My son & I spent the last 36 hours to yesterday evening on a 900 mile round trip to South of London to buy a Mazda MX5, Mk1 which I will be working on to get the car up to my exacting standards even though on the face of it it looks mint for a 33 year old car. It would not have been my choice of car but he has been telling me since he was a very small boy that he wanted one and his dream has now come true. On the way home in 24 degree heat we did encounter two other red examples with the roofs down another Mk1 with a Subaru type exhaust and a slammed Mk2. I like the fact that owners acknowledge each other when out and about.
Heather/Auto Care HQ, HQ is coming on very nicely Heather!!
I remember, many years ago, we moved house/areas. Went from using rinse buckets to a hose/outside tap. All was OK, but always got a horrible airblast when I first switched the hose on. Also, the tap water in Huddersfield was beautiful, whereas the water down in South Lincolnshire was like chisel the calcium off the car…
🙄🙄🙄🤔🤔🤔
Thank you! I’m glad I don’t have to contend with hard water 😂
Great video Heather❤Such a talented individual 😇😇😇 lovely set up 😍😍
Very nice setup Heather. Movin on up :)
Thanks Brent!
Once again another fantastic and informative video Heather
Thanks very much Mark :)
Another excellent video Heather, and something that would be very useful as I spend more time untangling and trying not to trip over my Karcher hose than I do using it.
Thank you! Are you using the stock Karcher hose?
@@autocarehqextra Sadly yes, and it's driving me mad.
They're a nightmare aren't they. I got a new one from In2Detailing when I had the K4 and it was so much better
@@autocarehqextra Yes, I'm seriously thinking of changing. Thanks for the advice 👍
The garage set up is coming on nicely Heather, I've had my Direct hoses reel now for 4 years and it's been a sound investment.
Thanks Mark 😊 they’re well worth having, not sure how I managed without this now haha
@autocarehqextra Yes a sound investment, I've got my Direct hoses grey7 pressure washer wall mounted too so the floor area is clear
Looks a very smart set up, thanks for sharing 💪
Thanks Jason!
Nice review Heather 👍👍
Thanks Brian 😊
Trust me Heather, the original, very soft water back in old Huddersfield was the best!!
The hard Limescale water in South Lincolnshire was, well, very crap??
But I had zero choice about moving there, age 16, back in the day…
🙄🙄🙄😥😥😥
You could get someone to make up a 90 degree mount so that it becomes a straight pull.
Just looking at upgrading options - great timing!
Nice one! Are you planning any other upgrades apart from a reel?
@autocarehqextra I'm searching for a better hose and a stainless steel trigger gun Heather, ideally would like a wall mounted reel but need a bit of flexibility so maybe not right now. Direct hoses have some options at reasonable prices, the search continues!
Nice upgrade. I went with the direct hose reel and hose for the kranzle.
Nice tidy installation and much easier for setting up and packing away.
Yep definitely. How do you find the direct hose in comparison to the stock kranzle hose?
@@autocarehqextra I never used the stock kranzle, still wrapped up brand new. From the offset I knew I wanted a longer version, I think mine is only 15m. The direct hoses has lasted me 3 years now without issue. The only thing the handle on reel does show signs of corrosion and flex when under load reeling in.
Mtm are solid, will be getting their 100ft stainless steel soon.
Nice one, the stainless steel reel looks very cool!
Thanks for the info, Heather. That looks like a very neat and well thought out unit (apart from the extra fitting you have to purchase). Your video couldn't have come at a better time since I am in the market for such an addition to my outdoor equipment. I will have to see if this brand is available in Canada. I'm actually going to have to make 2 such purchases: one for the garden hose to be placed on the house and one for the pressure-washer hose for the garage. Those p-w hoses are really stiff and hard to coil so something like the one features would make my life a lot simpler.
Thanks for watching Brian 😊 I think these MTM hose reels should be relatively easy to find overseas so hopefully you can get hold of one/ a similar option!
That looks like a decent setup Heather. Regrettably, I cheaped out on mine and had no end of trouble with leaks and binding of the reel - you get what you pay for! So I have gone back to a portable waterblaster, which lacks the convenience, so may have a look at these.
That’s such a pain! Yeah unfortunately they are reasonably pricey but definitely a lot more convenient than just coiling the hose back up
❤
Looks like it can be a minefield getting the right set up. Glad you got it sorted. Shame it's not on the back wall so you can pull it off the reel straight to the car.
Yeah definitely is a bit complicated!
Love that glovebox mount! So you will next forget to put on gloves during a detail!
It's really handy! Just from ebay :)
Looks nice and neat you will soon have the garage full Heather lol 😂
Getting there 😂
I have this and its good BUT I wish it would be on a swivel as it is a pain to drag the hose off and reel it back on any type of angle other than straight (if that makes sense)
Yep totally get that, I guess it could be put on a bracket that swivels maybe
👍👍😊👏
I want/need some type of hose reel. The placement of the reel for me is very important. Heather, when you unwind the hose from the reel, and hose is laying on the ground, does the hose "curl up" when you turn on the pressure? I hate that! Thanks for the review.
Yeah it's really handy to have a reel, not sure how I managed before. I don't think it does, I'll have a check next time I use it haha but pretty sure it just lays flat when the pressure is turned on
No need for Teflon tape? On the threads
Nope apparently it didn’t need any. The kranzle hose has an O ring and the link hose they reckon would be fine without. Doesn’t seem to be leaking so far 😂
@@autocarehqextra You can always use ( heavy duty red thread locker) 😉😉
First!!!!👋👍🏼💐💐💐
🙌💪
Looks a crap design that
Which bit 😂
Might want to explain in the video what mounting kit you used and also it’s not pronounced kranzel. Gritting my teeth.
Knew someone would get upset about that 😂 I just went to a handyman store and got the parts so it's not a kit. It depends on the surface you're mounting to so I'm sure most viewers are best off asking in their local store if they don't know what to use
@@autocarehqextrahandled a pointless comment very well. Everyone calls is kranzel.
I'd probably butcher the proper German pronunciation so better if I just don't try 😂
It IS pronounced Kranzle in the UK, they changed the spelling of the company name to anglicise it. In Germany and other global markets it's got the original name Kraenzle.
