Its not Foxtail millet rather it would be Pearl Millet or Sorghum(depending on season) that are left for birds generally a small sacrificial patch so actual harvest is left relatively undisturbed.

    Hallo Gunther!
This was a lovely documentary to watch. My father’s family is from Bhigwan. Our agricultural land got submerged when the Ujani dam was built. The temple that was showcased - Palasdeo, is the village where my grandfather taught for years. Bhigwan is home for me, our relatives still reside there. And at Dalaj that is 10 kms away from Bhigwan - and our ancestral village. Watching this lovely village and its people from your perspective was very refreshing. I’ve grown up watching all the beautiful birds but never seen a wolf. Your documentary makes me want to explore the wilderness at Bhigwan more now. I live in Pune and I’m proud to belong to Bhigwan where my roots are. And I’m especially glad I got to watch this documentary. Congratulations on your work and looking forward to more of your stories of beautiful places and it’s wonderful people.
    Danke Schön!

Thanks for making great documentary on Bhigwan! There are many short films on youtube made by Wildlife photographers but unfortunately not so many views for them. encourage everyone to watch them as well to learn more about migratory birds in Bhigwan. Documentary is nice but i do have some reservations on filming and interview of shepherds and villagers ( my personal opinion ). Bhigwan is nice place to see around. And agree with Sandeep Nagare - this place should not become a picnic spot or commercial place and maintain as place for wildlife lovers. Thanks Gunther!

Though this video was appearing on my screen I kept ignoring it, thinking that it must be a story of some conflict about wolves and herds of cattle ,which has become so common in India, but to my surprise it proved to be the opposite of that, what a heart warming scenario of a village where people are careful of not taking any aggressive action against wildlife. They are happy to co - exist with it. I have to thank Gunther Machu, for this revelation.

I recently watched the *Bhigwan* documentary, and it was truly amazing. I’ve witnessed Parag’s and Sameer’s journey over the years, and seeing you reach such incredible heights is inspiring. Your dedication and the effort you put into continually improving are evident in the masterpiece you’ve created.
The script stands out as something unique. The interviews with local people in their native language, with subtitles, are a brilliant touch. It brings an authentic and earthy feel to the documentary, giving it a genuine local flavor. You’ve also managed to address important issues in such a thoughtful way.
The cinematography is beautiful, (I guess Sameer must have contributed in this), the sounds feel very natural, and the editing is so soothing. I also loved how you didn’t stop at highlighting problems but offered solutions too. The comparison with European practices elevates the documentary to an international level, which is fantastic. The range of topics you covered is impressive, especially the platform you gave to the local people and their efforts to protect the environment while securing their livelihoods.
Everything has been presented in such an organic and seamless manner. Please pass along my regards and kudos to Gunther and Sameer as well.
    Warm regards,

About the good fortune thing, my guess is that the presence of wolves in the areas around farmland keeps the chinkaras and other herbivores like wild boars away which in turn protects the farmland. So the farmer's notion of "presence of the wolves increases the yeild" Probably comes from this phenomenon.
This is just my guess, i may be wrong.

Can u share the what equipment and setting used for this documentary . Since as per my information u have lumix g9ii used for this , can u share Setting for video as lumix g9ii has everything from gh6 with phase detection autofocus . I have wish to buy this camera for hybrid use. However in India Maharashtra average temperature throughout the year is 30 to 40 c . If we use 10 bit 4.2.2 4K 60 fps will camera handle heat. Since camera manual says it will last 10 minutes . Also I want to ask did u face problem of dynamic range and low light performance of this camera as traditional micro4 struggle with sensor size. Thanks 🙏
