- Trolling for pikes in the fall
Danish fishing maniac buried in the forrests in Smaaland Sweden with hundreds of lakes to be explored. I often try out the smaller less obvious ones. This is were the the inflatable boat comes in. Its convenient because it doesn't need a ramp.
Most of my fishing is for pike and walley. I love these two species! Both are perfect predators in their own way. The pike with is prehistoric look, extreme speed and raw power. The walley (zander) with its vampire looking teeth and stealthy movement in murky waters.
I have been fishing since the mid 1980's and have caught more than 50 different species in more countries than I can remember on techniques as fly fishing, trolling and coarse angling and so on.

Hey! Would you mind giving some tips when it comes to trolling for pike? I've just started out using 4 rods myself and I am trying to get as ready as I can for the season this year.

Thanks! To begin with I am wondering how to properly fish shallow lakes (where you will fish at 1-4m mostly) when trolling? Are they different than deeper lakes? I'm also not sure at what depths the pike generally strike. Do you wanna go really close to the bottom or closer to the surface (I understand that it's not always the same, but what is more common)? Lastly, if you would venture to a new lake, how would you go about it? Do you look for something specific?

Lindberg a shallow lake is a whole different animal than the deeper ones (5-10 m and deeper). Some of the lakes I fish are only about 3 m max. These fish best at water temp between 3.5 and 8 C and i almost never fish them when it's sunny unless it's cold or the water is murky.
Apart from that they are often easy to fish. I usually run around 2-3.5 km/h depending on water temperature and spread the lures as much as I can control using paravans on all 4 rods. Don't be afraid that the paravans will spook the pikes. They won't - I've had pikes attacking the paravans quite often. They tend to trigger takes rather than the opposite. I've actually (on a lake that's max 1m) had super fishing with a distance of less than 1 m between paravans and lures.

jeg fisker i en del forskellige søer. Da jeg har brugt 1000vis af timer på vandet og vejen med masser af 0-ture så deler jeg ikke mine vande. Det er bare ud prøve. Der er gedder i dem allesammen. Nogle er blot bedre end andre.
