I recently watched a compilation of Fred Astaire, in which they did indeed name all the the Female partners he was dancing with, including this one with Rita Hayworth. Isn't she fabulous. They don't make Women like this any more. What a great time. Wish I'd been there.
That’s Rita Hayworth. She had it all: beauty, personality and a great actress and dancer. I love her self confidence and perfect timing. I have seen other dancers with Fred Astaire and they either look at their feet or Fred, Rita Hayworth is beaming with self confidence.
This reminds me of laying on my stomach in front of the television watching what my parents called “old movies “. I loved the dance and dialogue and the beautiful clothes the ladies wore. Ginger Rogers clothes were the most gorgeous! Can’t get any better than an old movie!
Rita was an amazing dancer, up to the level of Fred. Era una bailarina increíble y al nivel de cualquiera otra u otro. Amazing video, they were great indeed.
He was just superb, elegance personified, but clearly she was an excellent and her skills at dancing were sorely underused in film. She was really good.
Man oh man! Those two right foot "stomps" near the beginning -in unison-and the flow of the steps at the end with the killer boogie woogie beat underneath! Heaven sent! ❤️ 😎
Hayworth confided to Orson Welles that her father began to sexually abuse her as a child, when they were touring together as the Dancing Cansinos. Her biographer, Barbara Leaming, wrote that her mother may have been the only person to know; she slept in the same bed as her daughter to try to protect her. Rita had a very rough childhood, to say the least. Sad.
Fred astaire is not dancing alone from what I see. Who is this illustrious unknown? Oh but of course: an actress-dancer-singer called RITA HAYWORTH, I think.
@@mlighgghkjhhu1990 ...You're most welcome! If you like this video, then you should check out the movie, if you can find it, and if you are interested. I find it an enjoyable movie, but I love Fred Astaire, so I'm going to like pretty much anything he's in. Lol 😊
I met him in Beverly Hills in the 80’s. I was 25 and had just been appearing in Peter O’Toole’s Macbeth at the Old Vic Theatre, London. I had a letter of introduction from Bryan Forbes the movie director. He was such a nice guy, really interested in our discussions, very humble and very ordinary…no airs and graces. Just like in his movies. When we parted, he extended his right hand to shake mine, and his left arm automatically raised like in a dance move. Such an honour. Peter Roberts Google….Macbeth Theatricalia for cast list.
It never ceases to amaze me how the female lead is quickly left unnamed. That's Rita Hayworth

That's because the person posting this short doesn't know much about this era!
Oh, hush!
... because everyone who watches movies from that era knows it is the famous Hayworth. 🙂
Anybody who doesn’t know it’s Rita Hayworth wouldn’t be watching this in the first place.

Their timing is perfect...their dance is incredibly beautiful ❤️
What i love is Rita's true joy showing as she dances and Fred's response. A joy to watch!
When Fred Astaire was asked who his favorite female dance partner was, he said Rita Hayworth.
Wow!
No. He said his sister was his favorite.
Both wrong, He always refused to reveal who his favourite was, whenever he was asked.
this is correct. thanks @@tonys9923
Actually, they asked him who is the best dancer in the world and he said I don’t know you have to ask Gene Kelly that
That's some very fancy footwork! Fred and Rita are having a blast!
I miss the old days, when tap dancing was in style ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is a great movie too ❤❤❤
You can tell how tickled Fred is to dance with Rita. Sweet!
These two just made magic..
There will never be another Fred.
There's always new talent out there! Unfortunately, the mentality and attitude is totally different!
There will never be another Ginger Rogers either. How many movies did they make together?
❤ Her hair. Her beauty. Her Talent. ❤

The 19s and 18s is my jam
Rita's dad was a Dance teacher. And Rita used to spend hours at her Dad's Dance studio practicing.
Hayworth confided to Orson Welles that her father began to sexually abuse her as a child, when they were touring together as the Dancing Cansinos. @@susanmarie2231I knew she had her demons later in life but I never knew this. Heartbreaking

I remember Fred Astair
Rita cheia de charme, de ritmo e beleza. Fred é um gênio da dança, mas parece um aspargo.
The Shorty George from You Were Never Lovlier.❤
Thank you. I was wondering which film this came from.

She probably had more Spanish genes, which are European.
You think correctly. This is from the movie "You Were Never Lovelier", from 1942.

Nothing like Hollywood in the 30 40's
A time I wish I could've grew up in.
Ma trovatemi oggi qualcuno che sappia muoversi come lui e la sua compagna in un film o in TV... è impossibile ❤❤❤
