Like they're so confused how to raise money for Eurovision and think the only option is more busking. Maybe be employed and that would help with money? How is Mindy paying for her half of the apartment? Didn't she have a nanny job in Season 1? Wtf happened to that
Apparently the kids' parents were very conservative (read: bigots) and kicked her out and fired her after she sings in that Drag Club a couple of times in the past seasons, which is why she eventually moves in with Emily. Did I remember this ever happening? Nope, a recap video I watched before watching this season let me know lmao
Did you watch the show? Mind y got fired from her nanny job, bc she wanted to sing, so her work visa expired and without papers she can't get a job. And she doesn't pay Emily any rent. Nothing is said about the other band members.
Camille Razat and Ashley Park are carrying this show on their backs. Camille specially is doing whatever she can for her performance to be realistic and not corny, taking into account what she’s been given. The other French actors seem to have lost their sparkle and looks like they’re doing it for the paycheck. Even Sylvie who was a queen for most seasons, seems bored and disconnected.
I'm starting to think its the writers and Netflix. The writing is so bad on their more recent shows is baffling. From Bridgerton to this show you wouldn't recognize this network that gave us such good shows in their earlier eras.
Totally Agree with you on this line of thought!!☝️👏🤔👍 I was also thinking the same way as well about the predicament of both of these Netflix shows & how they both have Similar & Huge Problems in the Writing department, especially!🤦♀️☝️😬💁♀️🇧🇧
the fact they had to turn Camille into a cheating GF, shitty friend and immature human being to justify Emily and Gabriel ending up together was such a low move... she was first introduced to us as this amazing, mature, well resolved, fun and accomplished woman... uhg.. Thank god Sofia seems nice though.
I hated Emily in Paris from the beginning and watched probably 2 episodes from season 1, but your analysis is so much fun that I watched the whole video. And no, I will never ever return to that show 😂
I'm still watching the show, but for each episode I watch I watch at least one video criticizing it😅. I think this last half season was the worst... They don't even try at this point !
He and Camille have deep rooted problems bc of his carrier and her family background, so it's easier to fall for another person than to get you shit together and end or repair the relationship.
This season sucks. They made Alfie and Emily break up, which was a good ending for Alfie to leave the show, only for him to be back 2 episodes later willing to date her again. This show doesn't have enough story for multiple seasons. At this point, they should've been leading to some point for a 5th and final season, but they are running in circles only to renew it. Now, Camille's only purpose (again) is to break Emily and Gabriel up AND there will be a new guy and Alfie is still there, like ??????
I have never seen a single episode of this show and I'm not even sure why I clicked on this video when it showed up in my recommended feed, but I'm now subscribed because this was probably the best tv series summary I've ever heard. GG
I started watching this show as a way to distract myself from the 2020 US presidential election and let me tell you… it worked like a charm. It was like my brain was anesthetized. I’m saving season four for the upcoming election lol
There's 4 seasons? And then you had to stab me in the heart with the reminder that Glow was cancelled too soon agter only 3! 😢 i was so excited to see them get a tv show!
It's so weird that a show nowadays can portray the worst stereotypes about the french without any backlash. I wonder what it would have gotten if it were "Emily in Nigeria", having her running around saying stuff like "Oh, they all have AIDS and want to rape and kill me, but that's the nigerian way, innit?" Why did he set the story in France if he hates us so much? Well, bc he wanted all the classy shit, fancy food, romantic city quarters and that god-awful fashion bs. It's one of the dumbest shows I've had the misfortune to witness.
They wouldn’t be saying that just for Nigeria. Instead it be toward Africa itself referring to the whole continent. All the countries within that continent would be referred by it just because in place within Africa continent itself. So they would also suffer some these rumors just like Nigeria. And if they did say that for Nigeria then it would be the same for the rest of the countries within that continent. Which is a shame crime because Africa itself have a lot countries within that continent with vast majority of diverse cultures. Which I think it’s pretty neat and interesting. But we Americans don’t like this either and never ask for this. Trust and believe I and alot of us Americans would rather see a real version of French people living their ordinary life than some makeup up fantasy that false and hold no truth to the average French citizen.
Okay but Emily is like a awful person and it makes Americans look bad too she is selfish and sort of gossipy and I think there are bad stereotypes all around
What you mentioned is just what Americans have been doing with Mexicans for as long as I can remember. They've always portrayed us as a very underdeveloped desert country, full of criminals, with lazy people, where everyone has guns and shoots at anything. The worst part is the a lot of people ended believing that.
Also, no hate watching. Unless you’re a reviewer where watching crap is your job, don’t watch things you get no joy or amusement out of watching. That’s how you get more seasons of big mouth and Emily in Paris.
@@stutter_box that’s my point, I’m an MST3K watcher so I’m very much a watch garbage because it’s funny type. You’re still getting enjoyment out of it so I don’t necessarily fault folks like you. Ah, yes exactly, agree 100%! There’s something very artistic and admirable about good trash content (or at the very least entertaining) and coming up with jokes about it is one of my favourite hobbies 😂
I lost a family member recently and watching this garbage has actually helped me a lot. I can't handle any more sadness in my life, it's great that nothing truly bad ever happens in the show. I hope there will be 20 more seasons.
I only disagree with the part where she calls him Gabriel (in French pronounciation), because that’s his name. Names are different than objects, Ga-bri-el sounds completely different than Gay-briel, it’s not only that they’re speaking English, people’s names are not the same as objects’ names. I hate it when people call me Lou-issa, rather than calling me Luisa like the pronounciation in Portuguese, I think it’s more respectful
I understand your POV, but we’ll definitely have to agree to disagree on this because I could not imagine expecting english speaking people to pronounce my name the way I pronounce it in portuguese. Whenever they try it’s both hilarious AND painful to hear 😆 Same way I tend to pronounce names in the language I’m speaking (I’ll change how I address friends depending on the language and most people I’ve met tend to do the same, but also understand those who like to stick to the one way)
I watched this season and got so bored and distracted that when I finally noticed I was at the final scene with Gabriel and his awful speech about how his life is amazing. Total snooze fest.
Hey! Nice video! For the Gabriel prononciation, although the name does exist in english, if the guy prononces it the french (or any) way, that's how you have to call them, their prononciation is the correct one always!
That’s strange. I definitely pronounce my name differently in Portuguese than I do in English, and don’t mind changing it because to me it makes more sense. That said, I do respect people’s preferred pronunciations, though I’d argue Emily’s pronunciation of his name is more to play on the concept of him being french and her being american having to adapt herself to different cultures, if that makes sense?
