***** november 17 twitter.com/romdiprisco i really cried after know that he passed away principally after hear callista that makes me remember about my childhood and all the memories that this guy give to me in the past
Well done Saki Kaskas! There are some seriously crunchy and tasty riffs and solos in here. They're more than good enough to satisfy a metalhead fan like me who's interested in Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and the like.
Thank you saki, for you i love the hard rock and this track. For those who try 1:41.89 lap record in arcade mode, believe me with this song is possible.
So I was fresh out of high school when I played this game and one time I went to one of the local bowling alleys to partake in glow bowling with some friends, and they happened to play this track (music) on this particular night.....needless to say I was both surprised and happy with the music selection for the night 😂
damn. i only borrowed a friends copy, back in the day, so i never explored the soundtrack. being a music maniac, i'm checking this stuff, and it's just incredible!
@TrueWodzu Obvious, when you play a race with this song playing, you can listen in specific parts of the circuit the same part of the song. In Pacific Spirit you can listen the solo part in the same place when you race a 2 laps race...so, this one is from the OST, it`s like the Immperial March from Star Wars, everyone knows the begining, but the original song it's a little bit longer than that.
OMFG!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for having these NFSII themes! I once went to the trouble to record them all, myself, but my hard drive got fried. So I can appreciate the work! I should have thought to check YT a while ago... :^]
I remember arguing with my brother over whether or not this map was set in Vancouver or not when we were kids. Neither of us thought to just look in the top right corner.
This is AWESOME!! The only version I heard was a shorter version that I got from Galbadia Hotel. It wasn't even 3 minutes long. I've been listening to it for years. Wish I had known about this version. THANKS for sharing!!
Damn it totally sounds like Metallica, the solos the riffs the drums, the bass. I just can listen James going like "Are you still up there....?" at 3:11
do the schoolbus cheat and use pioneer and play it on split screen xD - a bus that goes 360 km/h and you can crash other traffic cars for fun. The small 'bug' car or hte van is the most fun - it will do the rolls through the whole mountains! it's fun! and specially if you race the buses and you watch the other player crash and it starts to incredibly-fast roll and shake and jump xD - we were always rofling at that sight!
Awesome Metal Instrumental! BTW, Canada has a lot of talented struggling underground musicians as well and record companies gave a deal to Justin Bieber? Typical mainstream shallow attitude . . . smh
Those bass solo parts are great to play along with a guitar =P You used the PSX or the PC version of NFS II (or SE) to do this? Any way for me to do the same thing as you?
If only Saki Kaskas was better known. He's a phenomenal guitarist.
Agree

RIP Saki 😞
Anyone else ever cut through that one parking lot? lol
+a name every time :D
not if you perfect it ;)
Always, well almost always
Amparo lol yup, and with a 70% disaster rate 😂
90 % disaster rate in my case, the 10 %, I was even. So yeah, not exactly the best shortcut.
Listening to your entire playlist on repeat in 2023. Amazing soundtrack that revived all my 1997 memories. Thanks for the upload!
The explosive moment at 2:39 where the guitar makes the sound of an F1 Formula car revving up is pure brilliance.
1:41 too as a doppler effect of an engine flying by on a straight road.
Canadian Rock/Metal/Punk, gotta love it lol
Saki you'll never be forgotten
He is genius. Sick solo and fatal riff. Bad loss for us. Thanks for everything Saki.
The one thing that makes me very happy, is knowing that Saki's music will live on forever.
4:10 That downhill section was really Exhilarating and Dangerous too.
Some AI cars crash at this section
ahahaha nice way of pointing on the map
When racing games had CLASS
My favorite song from the entire game. I always play this one first because of this amazing song
+Clypsedra Ha same! I loved it. This piece WAS the game to me.
R.I.P Saki Kaslas :(

This and a Ford GT90 on a demo on a software render. A bliss from my childhood..
looks like Metallica, Megadeth, Rammstein and others just got OWNED by Saki Kaskas!

In Canada, we rock!!!
Rip Mr. saki. Thank you for what you have created
\m/ I remember headbanging this song as a child xD
Now I love metal!!
Love this song, has a nice grudge feel while having a metal edge.
Between 0:42 and 0:52 you can hear a lone guitar playing some sustained notes.
Sounds like Callista right? 😉
One of the first things I listened that lead me to discover heavy metal. Still sounds genius to me.

1:47 That Indian chant gives me goosebumps even today. Perfectly fit.

“No breaks song” crashed so many times in this level because this song would get me so cranked

I have top20 of Drop D tuning songs and this track is on it (if really it was recorded in that tuning or in D standard, who knows?)
Demo version....long time 1999 I miss it.....
That was so damn gooooooood... how i miss these hours...
OMFG!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for having these NFSII themes! I once went to the trouble to record them all, myself, but my hard drive got fried. So I can appreciate the work! I should have thought to check YT a while ago... :^]
My favorite track from NFS 2....Saki created masterpiece OST ! R.I.P
I'm sooo covering this song! FRIGGIN AWESOME MEMORIES, MAN!

3:08 la mejor parte del track
I remember arguing with my brother over whether or not this map was set in Vancouver or not when we were kids.

I remember recording this looped on a cassette, and playing it in the car endlessly.
Lovely Drops & Strong Guitar, that's where Need For Speed lives!-o
yesss bring on the coast with the birds calling and the steep mountain slopesssss
1:46 - 2:28 butterflies in my stomach
My all-time favorite videogame song!
god damn from start to finish, bombastic as fucking hell, i love this.
Damn it totally sounds like Metallica, the solos the riffs the drums, the bass.
I just can listen James going like "Are you still up there....?" at 3:11

Isso que é trilha sonora, PORRA!!
Fooooodddaaa!!!
Kk
This tune has some sick bass. I love it!
Dopest song in the game.
Before Mick Gordon
There was Saki Kaskas
The EA squad that work on the earlier title's soundtracks make Mick look like your dollar store guitarist.
The most powerful song of the game. Hell yeah 🤘
Best song of NFS2!!!
At the 0:38 second mark, you can hear something that was used in High Stakes.
Used in Callista ;)
+nfs 2 se pulse he co-wrote Callista with Rom. Not surprised to see some samples re-used occasionally. It’s a shame Saki is gone.

this is so f** awesome, so much power
The riff in the final part is fairly similar to one in the bridge section in Damage Inc.
Makes you really proud as a Canadian.
Beautiful Canada, this is Vancouver and you see Science world, its a building of round a ball, sky train pass that building.
at age 7 this was my favorite song on the level back then (i would think of the band metallica doing the beat)
Yeah definitely my favorite NFS 2 song, this is awesome :>
dis song is crunchy
0:38 best part
Great Rock Song !!!
That Canada was my privte Track
RIP Theo
this song brought me into hard rock/metal
God bless you good man
Awesome Metal Instrumental! BTW, Canada has a lot of talented struggling underground musicians as well and record companies gave a deal to Justin Bieber? Typical mainstream shallow attitude . . . smh
Great Rock Song !!!
I play Test drive 2 The Duel for SNES with this (and other) music! i'm trying to get this game again, NFS2 SE
Is this some kind of special edition? because the original is (like you wrote) "3:19"
long and sounds a bit different. :O
It's nice job because I like the music of NFS
ROCK and ROLL!!!!
Im still surprised this song was recorded in the 90s sounds like a 2000s song
3:09 is my favourite part of the song.
2:49 is the best part with the solo.
Metallica FTW \M/!!
callista was made two years after this song, there are not parts of callista here
This song sounds like it would be perfect for the band 'Shinedown'!!!
Uh! my favorite track
I remember the shortened version of this that didn't have the drum/bass solos
songs are modified and adapted to particular parts of the track :)
Just imagine this song in NFSMW
Imagine the Greatest Hits DLC and put all the songs of the NFS 2 SE
Those bass solo parts are great to play along with a guitar =P You used the PSX or the PC version of NFS II (or SE) to do this? Any way for me to do the same thing as you?
I only played a RIPed version with only main menu music when I was a kid, what a shame...
I remember this awesome glitch drive through trees glitch lol
0:40 You can hear parts of Callista around there.
ya the bass solo i awesome :D
but i love the song couse its good'ol'rock!! \m/
Different version from the one in the game. But still good :)
This is not the full version!
wtfffffff i never heard this in this game fucking metalic awesome
great circuite
Sounds like Slayer and Metallica.
I remember the IA cars falling crashing down the mountain over 300 km/h jajaj
Oh yeah sounds like Metallica, but the song is made by Saki Kaskas.
Uff min 4:10 !!!!!! Amazing
1:08
@rokirkazo You are right!:) I've never played NFS SE 2 with this setting turned on :) I mean - interactive music:)
I love it driving at higher speed going downhills, passing a lot of rocks on walls :D Funny CPUs always jump and crash it.
@rokirkazo No it is not, it has clearly more loops.
2:38 - 4:00 amazinggg ¡¡¡¡ mclaren f1
