1:23 Yuzawa uses a different pointe technique than the other two and I don't like it, looks kind of awkward. She is a fast, precise dancer, but doesn't sparkle. Obraztsova on the other hand is brilliant and flawless as usual.
I love the idea of the costuming getting away from the tutu. Suits the role better. I’d love a combination of number 2 and number 3. Just my opinion. Something soft snd floaty suits Cupid. 👵👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I've never seen Yuzawa before, and I liked her even a little better than Genia. Who does she dance with? I feel this is maybe not O'Sullivan's best role. I can see her trying to embody the sprightliness of the role but maybe trying too hard to get all the steps and arm placements right. In my eyes, Genia is one of those dancers who can do no wrong---she makes me smile when she does no more than walk onstage and yes, is a brilliant Cupid.
I don't think the slow tempo did O'Sullivan any favours. Also, Cupid should be in a tunic. Apart from that, I loved O'Sullivan's interpretation and expression. The tempo for Yuzawa was correct. Overall, all three were beautiful, but I would have to pick Obrazstova today.
Obraztsova! She has wonderful speed, elevation and ballon, is light and effervescent -- a great Cupid.
