I agree with a lot of the things you said in the vid. For a long time Pikmin 2 was my fav, but that's changed in recent years. My new fav is Pikmin 3. It does one thing that the rest didn't, co-op. Playing with my wife changed the Pikmin experience so much I was really disappointed that 4 didn't have it. That point i think was def worth mentioning as one of the cons of 3
Pikmin 2 was my favorite. I played the game to death as a kid, to the point I wore out my gamecube. I had the first one but I never liked the time limit, as a kid I felt it hindered my ability to just explore around which isnt the case at all I know now but my child brain didnt like the implications' haha. As for 3 and 4 idk. I played them both but they didnt hit the same. May just be age and my tastes changing but I still enjoy going back to 2 and 1 but I felt after a single play through of 3 and 4 I was done. 4 just felt kinda like a joke, Oatchi just trivialized fights and I hate the modern untouched "human" areas. As a kid playing 2 I always imagined that this was an Earth that was far in the future where Humanity was gone. 4 has working drones as elevators and pristine homes as areas. Just threw me from my head cannon and I know the devs can tell whatever story they want and 4 WAS a lot of fun these issues aside but that was my feelings anyway
I’m not the most versed in pikmin but even I know “the switch ports are just the Wii versions” is a pretty wrong statement. There are fixed and changes here and there, obviously not like a huge overhaul, but I wouldn’t call them exactly the Wii ports.
Pikmin 2 was the only one in the series I didn't enjoy. (I love all the others.) I found the caves to be dull and repetitive, and the was no sense either up top or down below that I need to be efficient with time management or strategy. I felt the whole game was busywork. The only positive memory I have of it is the Duracell battery. Being serious there. I also felt the areas you play in just weren't as dense and interesting to explore. I don't remember if I beat the game or not, but I traded it away pretty quickly.
that's totally fair. I like the dungeon crawler aspect of Pikmin 2 and the challenge of making it to the end and finding everything in there, but I can see it from your perspective as well. Pikmin 2's late game caves can take forever sometimes, it's okay to like the other games better!
None of them you enjoy them all of them at your own choice Okay but seriously I don’t think there’s really a best Pikmin Game, None if them are my favorites or my least liked or more hated (And yes this includes Hey! Pikmin and Pikmin Adventure) they’ve been all made for you to enjoy and if you don’t then…oh well I think they’re all high bar of good to great games
pikmin 4 is the worst game in the series SOELY due to the auto lockon. It ruins the game design because it makes it so that things cant go too close together and if they do end up not being able to pick up the treasures. The pikmin can only grab onto certain points on t he treasure which sometimes completely prevents you from grabbing treasures, the auto lockon is constantly preventing you from aiming at what you want. The pikmin are the dumbest in the series because all too often they just sit their when the enemies are in the way and they all just get eaten. Its a good game but the Autolockon and the terrible pikmin AI RUIN the game.

that's actually pretty fair, I didn't consider that! it is pretty weird how they implemented 2P in pikmin 3 and then left it out in Pikmin 4
