This is the reason to never buy a new vehicle as soon as its launched no matter whats the brand just wait for 5-8 months make a research if any issues with the product or the after sales. My point of view about the RS 457 is Aprilia didn't manufacture lots of units and were just waiting for the first and second lot to rectify any issues as it was the first motorcycle made in India.

As a customer care employee who worked in an MNC that's bigger than Aprilia, I can vouch that we are only given limited resources and don't have the options even if we want to help you. See they fucked us low level employees also. Trust me we want to help you with all we can because it's not my 10k so why should I hold it..but these corporate ladder completely neglects low level customer care employees as well as customers. And we can't update you anything because these dumb shits won't give us any update.
My decision to wait and watch has really been a good decision. I was really sceptical about Aprilia's claims from the beginning. I might go with a trustworthy and reliable company like Honda or Kawasaki. I'm really considering to buy a used Honda CBR 650R

I did initiate for cancellation because I have selected the wrong colour variant ... there was a mistake from my end that I gave an invalid UPI id , however I did mail them asking for 2 things - How could the portal didn't even verify about the valid/invalid UPI id during cancellation .. And also I have asked them to either refund my money to the correct UPI id or change the colour variant .. For my 1st question, I didn't get any answer.. However they did change my colour variant - that atleast matches one of my preferred options I have given .. Also may I have the customer care number of Aprilia , because I have tried a number, but it was not getting disconnected after the IVRS voice ends ..
I can vouch for this problem, this is real and many others are facing the similar issue. I booked 2 457s, one prismatic dark and another white. Cancelled my plan to go for the dark one and cancelled booking the same day and I have yet to receive any refund even after 1 month. I am thinking to cancel my white 457 and close this chapter altogether as I do not wish to be dealing with the brand anymore. Edit- Also, there is no showroom setup from Aprilia let alone we get to have a look at the bike in the capital of Rajasthan - Jaipur. This is really sad and my trust is already broken and I will go for a more trustworthy brand that actually values their customers.

I think they haven't received the volume of pre bookings that they might have been anticipating. Such instances along with delay in deliveries is not good for the brand's image.

Same happened with me when I bought my hunter 350 I made my advance booking in showroom and that showroom executive told me that I will get my motorcycle in 30 day's And after 3 months of hard waiting when I went to cancel my booking and asked my refund they said I will get my refund in 5 days to my upi account but didn't got. After 10 days when I went there in morning they said that I don't have any common sense I reached showroom in morning for refund they said, and asked to wait for more 2 days. I simply went back to my home and i tweet a post and tagged ROYAL ENFIELD with cancellation application within 15 minutes I got my refund back in my account and that showroom executive called me and said we apologize. This was my case. But aprilia is renowned brand world wide. This clearly shows the inappropriate and unmanageable system they have never expected this. This will create a bad impact.
The way you dealt with the customer service person was commendable. Because many people exhibit their anger and stress on the CS whatever the reasons may be. The CS team is not responsible for the actual resolution but they escalate the issue to the concerned team for the resolution. Much appreciated. Looks like Aprilia screwed their name even before selling their first batch of motorcycle. Triumph is delivering Street triple RS in 2 months from the time of booking. Aprilia manufacturing the motorcycle here in India but can’t deliver the motorcycle in time and customer service is poor. Brands should take Indian customers serious.
Something similar with me bro! Canceled 2 bookings of mine for 2 colours White and the Racing stripes. Waiting for a month and half on refunds for both the bookings. Shared my UPI Id for refund and they just keep saying they initiated refund for over a month and I’ve not yet received a penny.
Same thing had happened with me almost three years ago with RE showroom Blore ( 8th mile ) had booked meteor 350 on 24th March 2021 and they tld me it will take 3 months for the bike to get delivered and I waited till October I had called them , dropped tons of mails and even walked in and out multiple times regarding the bike delivery until i got pissed off and went for cancellation and refund but no response from their side .. until I booked Hero xpulse on ( 16th of October 2021 ) after that called the RE guys on the same day of booking of my xpulse and they tld me that they will refund the amount soon but didn't a week later took my dad's friends ( a cop and a local newspaper writer ) along with my dad on 23rd ( Sat ) made a hell of a scene inside the showroom 😅 on ( 25th @10am ) I got a call from them telling me to collect the refund cheque . ( We have a thunderbird 350x at home but still faced this issue after all that I have been through I'm 100% sure that me nor my close buddies will be going to buy any of REs if they give it for free also we don't won't it . currently all them have one or multiple bikes but not even single one from RE )

Genuinely sad to see Aprilia management behaving like this. The motorcycle is irresistible, there's nothing like that in the segment. Exotic machine. Good that they finally issued the refund amount.
This motorcycle was love at first sight for me and I booked it in the first hour itself. But I'll honestly say, Aprilia has been nothing short of horrendous with the launch process. Test rides were promised in January and deliveries by March. Even in a metro city like Chennai, March is over and even test rides haven't begun yet. More than anything it seems like the company doesn't care and is just persisting with their lethargic approach. I'd say please file a case in consumer court so that they get rocked a little and get their shit together.

From what i can understand from the video. Aprilia didnt initiated a refund yet from their end. I work in CS and whenever a CS executive says we will give by xyz day or week that means the refund is not yet initiated from the merchant's end (Aprilia) as of now. Also i think you should have gone for the credit card refund as UPI can be a hassle sometimes due to delay in refund even after the merchant initiates the refund. The banking system may take time. But this is not a techincal issue or banking issue this problem is from aprilia not initiating the refund after cancelling long time back.
If this doesn't improve, it will be a prime example of how an amazing product failed due to bad customer service. There is no good bike in the 5L on road price range and the RS457 seems like a great bike as per all reviews. Sad that the customer service is like this. Booking refund delays are common but 2 months is too much.

Guys i booked rs457 with amount of 10k amd then cancelled in feb 14 and booked it with full exshowroom 417185 and i recieved my refund by 15th of march.. now just waiting for the delievery..
I raised my cancellation request on Feb25 but received the refund on Apr9. The frustrating thing is that they didn't respond to emails properly, they would respond only after 2/3 email. Pathetic customer support!!
Gari nikal te hi kharidne ka jaldi nahi karna chahie. 6 month 1 sal jane do. Sab kuchh settle hone do fir lenge bike. First batch mey sab hoga pata hi tha. Yeh yamaha ya honda ya bajaj tvs thori na hay. 2, 4 scooter bechne wale achanak aisa product nikal k setup karne jayenge to yeh sab to hoga hi. Even bajaj, tvs, yamaha, honda k sath v worst experience ho jata hay.
All of you were making fun of the R3. You focused on the specs and price and forgot everything else. This is really sad from Aprilia and I genuinely feel sad for fellow bikers.

If the pre-sales experience is so horrible I can only imagine what the after sales would be like 🫣. Initially even I had plans of buying one but the 3 months waiting was a big turn off. Thankfully I went ahead and booked the Duke 390 Gen 3. Bike was delivered within 6 days. Experience has been really good so far.

Yamaha R3 and Ninja 500 deliveries have been excellent despite all the hype RS457 had.
