Great vid Gluck!! Couple of my favs in my gym are my Surplus Strength High Low system, Ghost roller j cups and I'm sure I'll get my balls busted here, but I do love my trolley arms. Great for all kinds of movements but I tend to use them for belt squats and leg extensions.
Gluck's self-awareness is impressive. I haven't decided whether it's impressive in that he is aware of how he personifies 99% of us home gymbros or that it's impressive he relates to us basement dwellers and still uploads videos to the YT. Regardless keep it up so I can lift vicariously through you!
@@GlucksGym your channel has come along way in a short amount of time. Especially since you made the conversion from a 2x3 rack to multiple 3x3 racks. Your reviews are priceless.

I'm in the same boat. I had a unicorn gym membership special that was like 100/year but I barely used it. Also the pandemic closed the closest 24hr Fitness near me so it became even more of a hassle to go to the gym. Then I built a home gym that's cost close to now $3000. It'll take me 35 years before I recoup the cost in comparison to the membership but I'm using it close to everyday and I'm actually getting back into shape. The drive to upgrade and get new equipment is like a fun obsession/hobby. Home gyms for life!
Well, if you count the travel time and gas , you might recoup the cost sooner than you think! I skipped workouts pretty often due to the overhead of travelling there and back. Plus waiting on stations which led me to change my routine just to get home on time. Seriously, some people were on racks for 30 minutes!
If you've got any Rogue rack and want cable options, for a rack that's either 3x3 or 2x3 with 1 inch or 5/8 hole spacing, I'd recommend the Surplus Strength's UPS low and high pulley. Premium finish, customisable pulleys depending on the height of your rack. Can't go wrong!
Rouge Olympic adjustable dumbbells are currently on sale for $135 each and their aluminum OSO collars are on sale for $49 per pair. For $368 + shipping, you get excellent-quality dumbbells that have (essentially) no upper poundage limit.
My starting lineup: 1. Rogue stainless steel power bar 2. Strength Co. plates 3. REP clear grind rack with the Ares upgraded stacks 4. Ironmaster dumbbells and kettlebell attachment 5. Rep Fitness open trap bar 10. Concept two rower to help get the juices flowing.
In my opinion 1-5 are the perfect set up (at the time). Although now I might go for the FAST Pepin adjustable dumbbells if I could stomach the cost and the Blackwing when it comes out in clear coat would be incredible!
@@rayjbb1494 man your updated version with the newer lineup is awesome. I did upgrade to the black wing with the 14” pad. Absolutely amazing bench but doing flies feels weird on the shoulders. Not really a fan of flies anyway. It feels like the greatest bench ever, but I have not gotten the manta ray. I went with black and white but only because I was not aware clear grind was coming. Still love it. Keeping it-probably forever. Pepin might be the best choice now too for dumbbells. I believe we are in the golden era of home gym building equipment.
@@meisdetermined take the time to enjoy that set up whenever you step foot in it! Truly the golden era. I'm glad Rep have sorted out shipping to the UK just as the Blackwing is available. REP have confirmed it will be releasing clear coat for AB5200 2.0 and BlackWing by the end of the year (although the UK have only got Black and Red at the moment, so not sure if the Clearcoat will be available). Regardless, all the reviews are incredible and they're supposedly working on prototypes for leg attachments too
Man, i lucked out and picked up 90 lbs set of powerblocks and picked them up for only 400. I was only looking out for these because of you. Big thankies.
When choosing racks, I agree, more holes is better. When choosing things to sit on, smaller gaps/crevices are better. Hence why I love my rep zero gap bench.
I got a set of Tru Grit fitness dumbbells last year. Should of went with rep, but they get the job done. They are not consistent, the handles will differ in feeling within the same weight pair, like one will be knurled and one will be smooth. A few came with cracks within the hex portion of the dumbbell. Buy nice or buy twice !
Great in depth video as always. The 4100 and 5200 are great. But I went with the 3000 v2 just because of the decline and I prefer the ladder style over pin style like the 5000/5100
I expanded my home gym from a simple rack that had a connected bench. These video's have been super helpful with convincing my wife to spend so much hahahahaha. Love the video's.
My diy home gym is below $150 Its not that its better than gluck's gym or anything. Its just another option for extremely budget conscious audience outside US on this channel. AC radiator wall mount as squat rack - $5 Pull up bar - $20 Barbells used - $20 Weights - home made concrete for free Rings - $20 Bench with leg curl and extension - $30 High and low pulley diy - free I can do 95% of all exercises that I used to in a commercial gym Kudos to Gluck's gym for some of the tips I used to make my diy gym.
While I’m sad that the Titan X-3 , the centerpiece of my gym, didn’t make the cut for budget pick, I enjoyed the video. I’m 90% certain I’m getting the Titan Fitness functional trainer for the 64” width vs the Ares 47”-ish width so that I can do proper crossovers, though! For plates, I feel like I’m an outlier as I like plates that are 25 lbs and higher to have handles to make them easier to carry. Anyway, I gotta run as my stall mat order is ready for pickup. More exactly, I drag them because I can’t lift 100 lb mats , at least not for long. That’s why I’m exercising. Once I can carry stall mats around no problem , I’ve won the workout game!
Helping me spend a lot of money here boss! Thanks for the entertaining and educational video. Im thinking of skipping a traditional barbell and going straight to a few specialty bars like a Kabuki Kadillac, a Rep open trap bar and a squat safety bar. Crazy?
Fun fact: If you’re considering trying to do adjustable dumbbell handles and rogue’s dumbbell bumpers to try and save some money, you’re not going to unless you only need one dumbbell at the higher weight. To get two pairs of the dumbbell bumpers general ends out costing more than just get a straight up pair of fixed dumbbells of a corresponding weight.
Video idea: Many companies give fitness budgets per year. If you had $1000 to spend every year and wanted to start building a home gym, what items would you buy year 1, 2, 3, etc? Is black friday always the best time of the year to buy items to maximize your budget? Cheers.
Just the opinion of a random viewer. First - set of bands, decent adjustable bench, chin-up bar, set of adjustable dumbbells, maybe some flooring - probably going to be more like 1,500 though. Second - barbell, squat rack with high low pulley, weight plates, weight storage and more flooring - probably going to be 1,500 again. Third - based on what you want based on how you like working out - an inspire FTX functional trainer will do a ton for you, with more flooring. Again, will be more like $1,500-$2,000. So that would be $5k in 3 years - maybe you can finance some of these to stretch out the cost a bit. Alternatively, if you find them used - maybe you can squeeze them into your $1k a year budget. After those items are purchased - you got all the basics down- you can figure out if you like specialty bars and other more specific or more premium equipment.
Man this video had to be a lot of work to make! Leaves no time to actually lift huh 😉 all jokes aside, this is an incredible breakdown y’all. Awesome video!
I do like my Rep Fitness urethane Equalizer plates better than the Rogue deep dish I sold. They are easy to handle and easier to put on bars. Never had an issue with them sliding around on the sleeve.
Loved the video, Heck I'm getting close to that price already an we didn't even add paint, decorations, etc. Those FT-5000's flew off reps site like hot cakes. I would love to see a video on different types of gyms or gyms that are multi purpose like a hybrid. For example, I guess I'd call myself a power lifter but I also do long distance cycling so my gym will have a mix of strength equipment/pain cave. Love the content
I would like to add……if you get a Titan x3 rack………..the quality seems great to me. I am someone who knows how to weld……and while they are not the best welds ever, they are functional and look fine. No way anybody is going to wreck that x-3 no matter how much they can lift. The issue is if you get a flat foot version Titan says their last pull down doesn’t work with the flat foot. I might get it anyway and mod it to work.
I got the pull down working on my flat foot. That was one of my best purchases. I messed up an only bought the 10 in rack extension to mount the pulldown in. The pull down tower is in area where I want to store barbells with barbell anchors. Also, if you store plates on the back of your rack, and 24 in extension, which I just ordered, gives you a lot more room.
I recently got a set of urethane bumpers from titan's scratch & dent section and love them. Saved a ton of money going that route too, the full set was less than a set of rogue echo bumpers and thanks to some labeling mix-ups I have 3 sets of 10s for all my warmup needs. For collars I'd go with whatever rogue has in the boneyard. My oso collars were $35 vs. the normal $60 and all that's wrong (or right?) with them is there's no logos.
I use Rogues boneyard (and Titan's scratch and dent) a lot. Can't say it always works out well with Titan but I've been lucky for the most part. I've gotten great deals through both.
I feel in love with magnetic collars early on, so that’s all I get for bars now. It’s really convenient to store them on the rack by pulling them on and off.
Have you thought about reviewing x training equipment products? They seem to have quality stuff like their bars and bumpers at a price competitive with rep. Thanks for the videos!
I recently looked at a wrist roller attachment and it looks like it’s designed to use kettlebell weights for resistance. So there is a use for kettlebells!
My gym is in this price range. But I must admit that some of the decision making is a bit different. I went for the colored Rogue bumper training plates. Why? Because I like the colors... Why did I get the Ohio Cerakote bar? Because I could get it in red matching the color of my monster lite rack. When spending this much on a home gym it must look good. And I realise I am not going to bend any this stuff and it is all overbuild for me anyway.
Kind of a random comment and not many can use this info but if any of you find yourself I Salt Lake, Wasatch Pro is a family owned small business that has amazing prices. Got a beautiful set of dumbbells with knurling on the handles for 1.63 a pound.
Yep but that's a newer change and if I go into details on every thing I mention nobody would watch 😂 I didn't pick the 4000 in this video because I wanted to mention some other things as it's in a lot of these build videos
The only thing I see missing is some sort of cardio equipment, but I guess I should have expected that. I think there is room to fit in an erg or air bike without breaking the budget, or cutting back on something and buying a manual treadmill. My home gym cost me just under $5k all in. I don't have dumbbells or a functional trainer, I got my plates used, and I also own an erg. If I were to add anything I would get something like the ironmaster plate loaded dumbbells (mainly due to storage space concerns), an air bike, and potentially add the dual Athena or Ares to my rack all of which combined would bring me right up around that $10k mark.
Cardio could definitely be included but where do you cut before the video is too much? This took over 30 hours to create so I had to make cuts somewhere.
I just thought if I brought machines into this it would've been too long. This is probably over 30 hours of work and I didn't know if it would be very well received so I tried to keep more "essentials"
Great in-depth options! Any plans to try out the Prime Prodigy rack? maybe someone in the area you could test out. Just a idea at the higher end budget.
That rack is on point. Wish I had room for one. Govt sorting out a trade deal with UK and US would be nice as well so we could get our hands on what you Yankee's have. It makes us us Limey's well jell. 😢
Thanks for all the videos, I'm in the process of building a garage gym, but being in Europe the options are a bit limited - no REP, for instance, but Rogue are present, so mostly looking there Serious question - what makes one barbell better than the other? Why is a Rogue bar better than a budget bar? I can imagine finish, bearings, durability, etc., but in actual use, does it make much difference? I could get 2x good budget bars for the price of 1 Ohio Powerbar Stainless, which would make workouts that bit easier to organise
That's a lot of factors like quality of material, durability (is your bar rated 100k drops or was it really tested at all?), machining quality, how good is the finish (often the easiest difference to spot) and so on. I could go on but on general there is a big difference but it also depends on what your budget bar is. There's some decent budget stuff out there and some raffle gear high end stuff. American Barbell makes some incredible bars as do others.
I love this rack build. In fact I'll likely clone it. The way you have the stations set up side by side looks super clean and efficient. Is there a way to give your affiliate link if I order this in person from the showroom? Would you mind giving me the width dimension?
@@GlucksGym ok great! I'm a few months out from pulling the trigger so I can finish the basement. But I'll make sure to use your link. Thank you for responding.
Great video thanks for spending the time to put it together! Your 11 post rack is great. I have a monster rack. Any idea if you could connect a rogue monster rack to a rep rack pr 5000 rack with aries? are the bottom holes on the uprights at the same height?
Thanks! My 11 post Rep rack actually has Rogue crossmembers connecting the two. The section where the barbells are stored vertically is all Rogue. I think that's what you're asking...?
Ironmaster dumbbells, for some reason, don’t get the love they deserve. Indestructible, sleek, feel no different than a regular dumbbell, quick to change weights. For anyone serious about lifting weights, it’s a no brainer. And yes, I have used powerblocks up to 90lbs. They get huge
Ironmasters are highly regarded in the community so I'm not they don't get the love they deserve. Heck they're almost always sold out 😂 definitely another solid option.
I'm kinda late to the show. But for collars, buy some Ivanko COC's and be done, they work on all bars, yes even those 1.9"bars and who doesn't want to touch their COC everytime they lift? They make the COT's as well which also work for all bars, are measured in pounds and cheaper, but you know....the COC thing. I have all three sets they make and always reach for my big COC collars when lifting.Yes they are expensive, and yes they weight 2.5kg each, but if you cant add 11 pounds to your plate math, just buy a tonal and these things are not for you anyway.
We have Bells v2 and like it. But the review isn't ready yet. If this were yesterday Titan had a huge one day sale on theirs. Perhaps it'll come back before Black Friday. I guess I should've asked your price range though 😂
Has anyone used the hex dumbbells from ETE or Giant? They seem to be the cheapest I've found when looking at a full or 5-50lb set, just no idea on quality or how they compare.
Awesome video. Do you have a recommendation for a decent women’s bar? My wife is interested in getting started with barbell training so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It's not as popular as a bar as the Ohio or Ohio Power so it'll sometimes sit on the Boneyard a few days. Yeah she uses the same bars as me. Some of it may be pride, she does what I do but it's also how she started. Since she never had smaller bars before she sees no reason now.
What is the square footage of your gym, may I ask? I have a 250 sq ft area in my basement that I’m hoping will work with this Rep power cage and Ares combo.
Technically my gym is broken into 3 spaces. The Rep section (with the PR 5000 and Ares) is 16 5' long and 11' deep but the length can easily be shrunk as I'm using 30" crossmembers (63" total) between the rack and Ares. I really need the full depth either but that's the size of that bay of the garage.
I love my Ironmaster dumbbells. They are built like tanks and can can weigh as much as 165Lbs if you're built like a Gorilla. I personally just bought the base set and the 125lb expansion set. I have iron hex headed dumbbells for 5lbs through 35 lbs for curls and stuff. And I leave my ironmasters at 60lbs and never go lower than that. Other options are Baadass dumbbells and the Pepin dumbbells. I would love a set of 5-100s. But I can't spend 5,000. And I don't have the room. So iron adjustables are where I think the sweet spot is. Paying 800$ for plastic Nuobells just doesn't interest me. I want to be able to use and abuse my dumbbells for the next 30 years.
I have Ironmasters and they were my very first purchase. They are great, especially with the heavy handle kit. I have a set of 5-50 lb pairs and the Ironmasters are for 55 lbs and up.
@@markhalstead2386 I have thought about getting the heavy handle. What do you like about it? I always thought that the handles were too long. Do you feel the heavy handle attachment makes it more a stable?
@@coolcatrich I think it makes them more stable as the weight is not as far from the hand for any given total weight. They feel more like my Rep Fitness urethane dumbbells.
@@GlucksGym Just what most of them cost :-). For clarity, and n the name of science, though, let's say two brutes sneak in while you're off cavorting at BOS, and they take EVERYTHING, except one flat and one adjustable bench of your choice,. They also leave the lighting and the A/C and heating, and to avoid an international manhunt, Wynie's belt. Beyond that, it's all gone, we're talking even the wall control. But for whatever reason, they leave a pile of cash equal to the MSRP of all the benches they took, and that's your budget. How do you rebuild?
Didn't miss anything!! Is it me or does it seem like Fringespirt might be in trouble as the only 2 items I saw they have that I would buy is the Midas Bar and the Wunder Bar, with everything else it looks like a different company has better options and fringesport is very expensive. I saw the owner's 1st video and he said he came up with high quality stuff for affordable prices, he missed the prices part all together. They seem too expensive to me. They could be in trouble soon, just wondering
😂 I can't say who I heard this from but I have heard concern from another owner about Fringe. I know they've recently come out with a new 3x3 rack but you're right they've been surprisingly quiet. I liked their bumpers but then learned Bells are cheaper (and some of them are made in the same factory). The Wonder bar and some other stuff is good but it does seem like they're falling behind.
@@GlucksGym Yeah, Originally I thought they would do well but they have been quiet. Their equipment seems high quality but their prices IMO lost business for them. Now Bells of Steel is in the top 4 so Fringesport is going backwards fast. I absolutely love my Midas Bar though. So they have a rack now, that is good, I did not know that. That is a start, I hope they are not charging ROGUE prices for it. I came across a Major Lutie power rack 3x3, 1 inch holes, strap safeties, and J hooks, with 11 gauge steel for less than $700. That makes rack buying interesting
Thanks to this channel I have some Fringe loadable dumbell handles that are fantastic. They are also my favorite option for 10 lb and under Olympic steel plates that I use for my EZ curl bar and loadable dumbbells. They are great quality and those lighter ones are as cheap as any of their competition. They start to get less competitive with heavier plates and other equipment, though, I've noticed.
Do another video, but instead of price being your constraint, use available space as your constraint. Maybe one for half of a garage, a large basement, and a typical spare bedroom.
I'd always get Nuobells (adjustable dumbbells) over fixed dumbbells. Just as good (better in my opinion even... they are smaller, better knurling, just... great). Powerblocks are good as well though. I personally don't care for a lot of fixed dumbbells, neither do I have any weight plates in my gym and never will. It's not necessary and I just really don't like it, I prefer a more clean & functional setup, rather than just filling up on "crap". Of course it depends on your prefered way of working out, but yea... just not for me to have the "classic" homegym with lots of dumbbels, weight plates, barbells etc. A functional trainer is a must & the Ares is a beauty. Also, TRX needs way more love. One more thing, when you talk bands my friend, yes.. natural latex of course, but the difference maker is, that it is layered latex, which makes it a lot better (like Undersuns bands).
Powerblocks and Ironmasters, while not perfect, will last a lifetime. Nuobells rely on plastic nubs to move the weight shafts which will wear out and when (not if) they do the only fix is a new handle. This guy did a teardown: ruclips.net/video/VI3alL6i8jA/видео.html
@@plmn93 That is not an official Nuobell. That has already been busted multiple times. Also, Powerblock uses plastic for the pin and lots of other things uses plastic, there are different ways of making plastic. In any case, I'll take Nuobells over crap like Ironmasters any day and I'll rather buy 5 pairs of Nuobells than 1 pair of Ironmaster.
@@Somtric I don't know where you are getting that. It is a real Nuobell and he had to break it open to see what was wrong, that's the point, it's not serviceable. Broken handles are common enough that Nuobell has a video on how to replace them. And yes Powerblocks have plastic pins but they don't wear out with normal use (mine are ten years old). And if they do break you can get replacements for $10. Nuobell replacement handle is $179. It's too bad because it's an otherwise slick design that solves most of the issues people have with Powerblocks.
@@Somtric Well that's good because you'll probably need five sets of Nuobells, or more, to last as long as one set of Ironmasters. To each their own. You have not provided evidence that it's not a Nuobell or any evidence that Nuobell does not use plastic cam followers. There are plenty of reports of broken handles just as described in the video. Nuobell does not exactly stand behind their product with only a two year warranty. I see no reason to doubt the video. Maybe I'm wrong. But again, you haven't provided anything other than a simple denial.
Not so sure but we did buy one to giveaway and it's really nice. The issue is that sale and the $100 savings. It's a great deal and that's rare with Rogue
Some really great picks! Surprisingly I actually do like ur rack budget rack option (BOS hydra), Id still go with the PR 4000 over the Hydra but it is a little more expensive. Im glad u omitted the TITAN racks for budget as I do believe the quality isnt there. For power bars, maybe the ISF powerbar might also be a good option and for the adjustable dumbbells perhaps the BAADASS (maybe you could do a review on those someday) might work well as they are "indestructible" unlike the Nuobell.
Some Titan products might be lacking but their X3 and TITAN series racks, clones of the Rogue Monster Light and Monster series, are 100% in the same quality bracket as all the other brands. There is no difference in my TITAN series, Rogue Monster, or Rep 5000 uprights. I have all 3 in my gym currently.
@@airgordo4 lol, not a chance, and please understand I own a 6 post Titan x3 rack...id luv to tell u about all the quality issues I faced with it including a upright which came welded upside down, there were other issues, I have pics and emails to Titan
Technically the Hydra rack is a clone, as in its an exact copy of an actual 3"x3" vs a metric (2.95") and the hole spacing matches Rogue's whereas metric racks end up being off about a millimeter. The X3 and Titan series are good racks but I've mentioned them in a lot of these videos and was trying to go for some variation.
Can anyone recommend a pair of affordable squat stands that can be converted to a rack? Does this exist? I don’t want to go all in if I end up not using it and can’t get to gym now with two babies at home
I bought adjustable dumbbells up to 100 pounds for 1$ a pound in 2019. Best investment I've ever made. Some people don't like having to adjust them, but to be honest, if you're in the gym to workout and throwing weights on and off barbells and dumbbells bothers you, you're kinda lazy.
I'm not sure that's exactly why some people prefer fixed dumbbells and other options. Some of the appeal is the speed of drop sets for example or if you're like us and have 4 people working out at once we can be using 4 different dumbbells.
who are we kidding, you spend 10grand on a home gym its a nice start for your collection. I promise you wont be done and if you buy cheap you will eventually just sell it for pennies on the dollar and eventually buy the one your really wanted. $50k later and for some reason i still have stuff i have to have! it never stops until you run out of space, then you build a bigger space or start all over on the upgrades!
What did we miss? Let us know!
At this price point, I would love to have a smith machine over a functional trainer, but man those are nice.
Some type of cardio, and at this price point I'd probably throw in a GHD. And at least a couple kettlebells
Cardio not we love it but need it

Regardless, all the reviews are incredible and they're supposedly working on prototypes for leg attachments too
@@rayjbb1494 appreciate it brother I hope to. :)
Hope they are able to get that clear grind out your way soon.
Man, i lucked out and picked up 90 lbs set of powerblocks and picked them up for only 400. I was only looking out for these because of you. Big thankies.
I helped someone! Wooo
Where were you when I put mine up for
sale 2 years ago? They are still collecting dust looking for new home.
You did get a good deal, though!
When choosing racks, I agree, more holes is better. When choosing things to sit on, smaller gaps/crevices are better. Hence why I love my rep zero gap bench.
Your best video to date. Covered everything for building a home gym. Thanks again for the heads up on the OPB sale. I love that bar!
We bought one to give away at 25k subs! Excellent bar and thank you!
Harbor heavyweights 3in1 with screw style adjustable dumbells. Rogue manta bench, several bars
Best and cheapest I think you can go
I wouldn’t mind a 2 hour entertaining review from you 😁 thanks for all the content
I'd probably go crazy making that 😂 I do have an idea for a pretty big one
I'm so glad I got the powerblocks before they went through the roof.
Great in depth video as always. The 4100 and 5200 are great. But I went with the 3000 v2 just because of the decline and I prefer the ladder style over pin style like the 5000/5100
Our review of that should be out next week! Solid bench for sure.
Any issues with the 20 degree max seat angle?
Amazing video and personality!
I expanded my home gym from a simple rack that had a connected bench. These video's have been super helpful with convincing my wife to spend so much hahahahaha. Love the video's.
My diy home gym is below $150
Its not that its better than gluck's gym or anything. Its just another option for extremely budget conscious audience outside US on this channel.
AC radiator wall mount as squat rack - $5
Pull up bar - $20
Barbells used - $20
Weights - home made concrete for free
Rings - $20
Bench with leg curl and extension - $30
High and low pulley diy - free
I can do 95% of all exercises that I used to in a commercial gym
Kudos to Gluck's gym for some of the tips I used to make my diy gym.
More exactly, I drag them because I can’t lift 100 lb mats , at
least not for long.
That’s why I’m exercising. Once I can carry stall mats around no problem , I’ve won the workout game!
LOL. I just noticed the watermelon and doughnut-painted plates behind you. That's funny stuff.
As someone who just basically did this except keep it at 5 or 6 yes I definitely see the frustration in options
Helping me spend a lot of money here boss! Thanks for the entertaining and educational video.
Im thinking of skipping a traditional barbell and going straight to a few specialty bars like a Kabuki Kadillac, a Rep open trap bar and a squat safety bar. Crazy?
I'd always start with and have a traditional bar before going specialty but I'm not everyone and don't know your situation.
Cheers.
Interesting idea. I'll have to see what I can do with that. Thanks!
I don't lift. Not real weights anyway 😂 glad you enjoyed it
Sweet! Just grabbed some Canway bands with your link. Thanks Gluck👍
I have a stainless ohio power bar, it really is a beautiful thing
A tip for budget flat benches: a silicone baking mat is well under $10 and will practically glue you to pretty much any bench
Great video. I wish I had room for a full set of dumbbells and a functional trainer
I got the pull down working on my flat
foot. That was one of my best purchases.
I messed up an only bought the 10 in rack extension to mount the pulldown in. The pull down tower is in area where I want to store barbells with barbell anchors.
Also, if you store plates on the back of your rack, and 24 in extension, which I just ordered, gives you a lot more
room.
The AB Cali bar has something to say about being the consensus best multi bar! (Gotta shill for AB, they own.) Great vid!
How about making a video on different gym mirror options
Im subbing because his tone is just too funny.
Recommend Snode over Nubell since there is a warranty for dropping.
It’s really convenient to store them
on the rack by pulling them on and off.
Texas power bars or cerberus bars are worth a strong consideration as well.
Have you thought about reviewing x training equipment products? They seem to have quality stuff like their bars and bumpers at a price competitive with rep. Thanks for the videos!
I have the rogue urethane bumpers. Expensive but absolutely awesome.
Very nice plates, very expensive 😂 I've got a few different urethanes, they all tend to be pretty great.

Are the cables height adjustable for doing crossovers, delts, face pulls, and the like?
That Are’s is a game changer for the garage gym community.
if only it wasn’t so narrow
Great video! My suggestions for extras would be a bar jack and kettlebells
I had so much more I could've added it was just getting so long and the editing etc took forever
@@GlucksGym I can imagine! In fairness, it’s a bit of a luxury item you could do without, but when does that stop us from buying stuff?!
I recently looked at a wrist roller attachment and it looks like it’s designed to use kettlebell weights for resistance. So there is a use for
kettlebells!
“I’ve strategically picked to stay small & weak my entire life” hahaha😂….touché my friend, touché!
Gotta play along with the internet hate 😂
Hi what about that stainless steel table mount on the rack that said REP with the plates on top?
I enjoyed this video.
Happy to hear it!
Just FYI, the REP PR4000 seems to have holes spaced 2in apart all the way down the sides of the rack similar to 3x3 1" racks.
Great video!
Thank you!
Gluck, does your garage have a sloped floor like most garages? If so, what did you do to build a level workout area?
No it doesn't. It's a well done garage but the previous owners did the floor and framing and I'm not exactly sure they were qualified 😂
Great video, you seem to not like machines though? Too much money, takes up too much space maybe? Different style lifting?
I just thought if I brought machines into this it would've been too long. This is probably over 30 hours of work and I didn't know if it would be very well received so I tried to keep more "essentials"
Great in-depth options! Any plans to try out the Prime Prodigy rack? maybe someone in the area you could test out. Just a idea at the higher end budget.
I'm not sure Prime knows who I am but maybe someday!
That rack is on point. Wish I had room for one. Govt sorting out a trade deal with UK and US would be nice as well so we could get our hands on what you Yankee's have. It makes us us Limey's well jell. 😢
Thanks for all the videos, I'm in the process of building a garage gym, but being in Europe the options are a bit limited - no REP, for instance, but Rogue are present, so mostly looking there
Serious question - what makes one barbell better than the other?
Love this video very good info. But, I feel like Rep Racks are getting just as expensive as Rogue now.
The imported racks have definitely trended upward over the years.
I love this rack build. In fact I'll likely clone it. The way you have the stations set up side by side looks super clean and efficient. Is there a way to give your affiliate link if I order this in person from the showroom? Would you mind giving me the width dimension?
People tell me they order online with my link and schedule the in person pick up. Both middle sections are 30".

I debated getting into machines etc but the video was already getting to be huge
I’d include the prime bench as an option for an adjustable bench
I had to cut something out and tried to make some different recommendations and I still mentioned 6 benches 😂
Does the Athena work with a rogue monster rack?
Started with basics. After 20 years I have around 50 K stuff inside.
I have all three sets they make and always reach for my big COC collars when lifting.Yes they are expensive, and yes they weight 2.5kg each, but if you cant add 11 pounds to your plate math, just buy a tonal and these things are not for you anyway.
do you have any recommendation for a stand alone lat pulldown and seated row machine?
We have a Boneyard Rogue Bella bar in fully stainless that's really nice. TBH Wynie only really curls with it but it's still a great bar 😂
@@GlucksGym thanks for the response. Does she use the 45lb bars for the compound lifts?
@@GlucksGym and man that stainless boneyard bar was a great find
It's not as popular as a bar as the Ohio or Ohio Power so it'll sometimes sit on the Boneyard a few days.
Yeah she uses the same bars as me. Some of it may be pride, she does what I do but it's also how she started. Since she never had smaller bars before she sees no reason now.
@@GlucksGym thank you!
@@GlucksGym Thank you! I will use your affiliate links whenever I order (probably in the spring). I enjoy your watching your channel.

Iron Master Adjustable DBs - 5 to 75# for $869 shipped?
Do you have a video, or in the process, for a $3,000 limit?
We did a $2500 awhile back ruclips.net/video/kNd0EdA6aAk/видео.html I'll eventually update all of these
I love my Ironmaster dumbbells.
@@markhalstead2386 I thought so. I'll have to get the upgrade. You sold me on it. Thank you.
If frugal with your adjustable bench purchases, and held all the savings in reserve for a complete home gym from scratch today, what would it be?
Is that your way of asking what all my benches cost 😂 probably a lot more if I can convince myself to pay the shipping from Irwin in Canada
@@GlucksGym
Yeah, Originally I thought they would do well but they have been quiet.
This guy is the weirdest and calmest form of unhinged iv’e ever witnessed. 10/10
Do another video, but instead of price being your constraint, use available space as your constraint. Maybe one for half of a garage, a large basement, and a typical spare bedroom.
That's on the list of ideas!
@@plmn93 No, it's not. In any case, I already told you, I'll pick 5+ pairs of Nuobell over crap Ironmasters any day.
I need the link to the 2.5s you included with your deep dish set of 375lbs.

You still think the fully stainless OPB is worth the premium of $200 over the stainless shagt and "proprietary matte" sleeves on sale now?
Not so sure but we did buy one to giveaway and it's really nice. The issue is that sale and the $100 savings. It's a great deal and that's rare with Rogue
Looks like rogue says "added friction" w matte black but some reviews talk about hoe plates don't really slide on well. You notice this at all?
I've got the matte black on my MG4, all my plates fit fine. Even my Strength Co plates which are probably the tightest on the market
Yep! Big 💰
Great video. Your innuendos were lacking
Jokes apart ....this is an outstanding video
Can anyone recommend a pair of affordable squat stands that can be converted to a rack? Does this exist? I don’t want to go all in if I end up not using it and can’t get to gym now with two babies at home
BoS Hydra or Rogue SML 2 or 3. You can probably build something a la carte with Rep Omni.
If you’re talking about indy stands, not sure.
@@calebmccallum5904 I was thinking independent
I bought adjustable dumbbells up to 100 pounds for 1$ a pound in 2019. Best investment I've ever made. Some people don't like having to adjust them, but to be honest, if you're in the gym to workout and throwing weights on and off barbells and dumbbells bothers you, you're kinda lazy.
I'm not sure that's exactly why some people prefer fixed dumbbells and other options. Some of the appeal is the speed of drop sets for example or if you're like us and have 4 people working out at once we can be using 4 different dumbbells.
4:41 is that a samurai collection
Yes, yes it is
Do plates really matter 1 bit? Seems like they would be literally the least important thing ever. Weight is weight
