    G'day mate, great install video! Would like to know, that when you pull the Bonnet latch in the cab, does the bonnet "pop up" under the power of the struts?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  3 года назад +1

      Hey mate, it's still bound by a latch after you pop it so it won't pop up automatically 🙂

    Howdy, loving your D22 vids. Just got myself a 04 TD30. Can you tell me the length of struts and weight each can hold please? Friend has a heap for me to go through.

      Hey mate, sorry for the late reply, I've been out of service at Moreton. Let me measure them in the morning, as for the weight capacity, your guess would be as good as mine... Let me do some reading and I'll get back to you!

    Any issue with working on the engine from the side with them on?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  4 года назад

      Nothing too bad, exhaust manifold when i was crouched up in the engine bay I definitely new they were there but otherwise I havent really noticed that they're in the way 👍

      @@ap4x4 my biggest concern with them would be working on something leaning on them and bending them. Or is that not going to be an issue

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  4 года назад +1

      I've admittedly leant on them heaps and haven't had an issue yet, obviously Im not putting loads of pressure on but touch wood no dramas yet with leaning on them

    Hey mate, liking you vids, I've got a 2.5L d22 as well and im really interseted in just about all different set ups on them so i mean possible vid idea... a complete run through of your Nav like absolutely everything would be mint

      Thanks mate! A few more vids on the way, have been a bit quiet on them lately. I've been meaning to do a rig rundown but was wanting to wait till my tray gets done (should be about a month away). Any questions in the meantime though, I'd be happy to answer! Thanks for your comment, it's always great to get that kind of feedback!

      @@ap4x4 been looking at snorkels too recently and ive found a whole lot of them for single battery navs but not so much the duel battery ones. What snorkel do you have and do you know if you can 'adapt'/edit a single battery option to fit on the duel battery navs?

      @@j_culwick I installed a factory nissan snorkel. Im doing a snorkel video on my brothers zd30 nav but that wont be for some time and will be a single battery. Also a genuine nissan snorkel is the only one Im aware of that doesnt require a new hole for the indicator. No worries mate, always happy to help people out!

    Have you isolated the starting batteries? If so what battery do you run as your second battery and starting battery?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  4 года назад +1

      Hey mate, I have a Taiwanese D22 not a Malaysian so I only had 1 cranking battery from factory. The second battery is a Century N70T deep cycle isolated with a kick ass voltage sensitive relay (VSR) and a manual circuit breaker 👍 starting battery is also a century NS70 from memory. Its no work really to ground the second battery or put a VSR between them if you change one to a deep cycle 👍

    • @jacksonsay5622
      @jacksonsay5622 4 года назад +1

      Adventure Prone 4x4 I have isolated my issue now is I can’t fit a larger enough deep cycle batter! The largest I can fit is a ns70t which is on 75ah and want larger but looked around and can’t seem to be able to fit a larger battery. Any tips?

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  4 года назад +1

      @@jacksonsay5622 Actually I remember a similar issue... let me check whats under the bonnet...

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  4 года назад +1

      @@jacksonsay5622 so its actually a Century NS70TX MF which is smaller and was the only the battery I could get to fit. It sits on a home made battery box a mate and I knocked up. I remember they ordered a bigger one only to realise it wouldn't fit.

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  4 года назад +1

      @@jacksonsay5622 and in all honesty mate when my deep cycle needs replacing, Im gunna get a Kick Ass slimline battery and put it behind the back seat to allow room for a custom airbox in the engine bay, so thats just another option to consider. I've had no dramas with Century but they dont offer a slimline battery that I'm aware of.

      just so i dont spend $1000 on rims that wont fit :)

    • @ap4x4
      @ap4x4  4 года назад

      Hey mate, stock rims offsets are pos 40, I run pos 20, and the next set will be patrol alloys that are 0 offset. Pos 20 sits flush with the guards, 0 will stick out just a touch. If you can, opt for an 8 inch (thickness) rim so you can up the tyre size later if you want, or not, I just think its nice to have the option down the track 🤷‍♂️ hope that helps!
