I really feel like a coaster that old and in a park this "cost efficient" they probably wouldn't have a transfer track, just fix it in station.

I would say keep the backing on the coaster, solely because from a cheap perspective, space could be saved and costs cut if you can reasonably put things closer to the coaster without risk. Gotta think cheapskate owners!
