    Just bought one of these for the princely sum of £9.00 . Lovely little camera though the aperture sticks open at below 1/30sec. BULB is fine. Loaded with B/W 400asa film and away we go. Great little video, many thanx. One point, it seems that I buggered up the aperture sticking due to CHANGING the speed BEFORE cocking the shutter. (thumbs up)

      Thanks! Not sure which one you mean, but it probably is the flash sync port.

    Hey! Just got one of these retinette 022 as a gift but the shutter is not making any noise/working. I saw that these work without batteries. Do you know what can I do to make It work?
    Thanks

    • @FilmCameras
      @FilmCameras  3 года назад +2

      No, you don't need batteries. To see if it is working, try this: Open the back (without film) and point the lens towards a light. Then cock the shutter by advancing the lever and press the shutter release button. If it works you will see the light through the back of the lens opening and closing as fast as you have set the speed. If nothing happens, you should take the camera for repair.

    how do you know when the film has completely rewinded back to the spool ?

    • @FilmCameras
      @FilmCameras  Год назад

      You will feel the difference in the tension when the spool will start rotating freely, after the film being completely rewound.

    Hey, thank you for this video ! But my photos are all blurry, i don't know what setting i should do ...
    i think it's the speed but i'm not sure. Can you help me?

    • @FilmCameras
      @FilmCameras  4 года назад +1

      If photos are blurry then you should check 2 things: 1st make sure each time you have correctly adjusted the focus distance ( 3:02 in the video ). Be careful if your lens is in meters or feet. 2nd check your shutter speed ( 2:39 in this video ). If it is below "30" (that is 1/30th of a second) or "15" then you should position the camera on a firm surface or tripod. If none of the above work, then probably the focus ring of your lens has some sort of problem and needs a repair.

    Do I need to cock the shutter before every photo? or just the first one?

    • @FilmCameras
      @FilmCameras  4 года назад +1

      Yes you do. You need to cock the shutter before every photo, to advance the film to the next frame and to be able to hit the shutter button.

    I, have a Pentax K1000, & the pictures
    Will, knock your socks, off. The only thing ,
    Is, I can't open, the door to put, the film in.
