I’m pretty sure that “rummage” should be an official crafting term. It’s what we do!😂 I also love that you can’t use certain pieces if you’re not sure you can duplicate them. I do the same thing. I have some eco-prints that will probably be in my stash forever. 🖤
Absolutely no system and totally overwhelmed! It's one reason i get so little done. And i have "lost" things i know i have and found things i didn't know i had ( but obviously i do)! One of these days..... 😢😂😊❤
Barbara, it looked like you were pulling out a whole lot of things for the journal but once you organized it all it didn’t look like that much. And how cool it all went into those two organizers. Great idea. Can’t wait to see all these things in the journal. TFS! ❤
Hi Barbara! Your journal signatures are GORGEOUS and the pieces of misc. items are absolutely stunning! I’ll look forward to see what you do next! Thanks for sharing and have a great day! 🙂
What a brilliant way to organise everything for a project. It makes it so much easier to manage 👍. I can't wait to see what you make with all that lovely stuff ❤ xxx
I would be totally overwhelmed too with such a big pile of bits & pieces on my desk, but the way you organized them now is just perfect ❤ cant wait to see what gorgeous things you create with these sweetie
I have my own system: recycled clear plastic trays, each laden with sorted bits of paper, fabric, and lace scraps, netting, cheese cloths, themed stickers, tapes and washi... then stacked. Jewels and other bits stay in their clear boxes with lids. ( my husband buys (nails, screws etc...things that carpenters use), that come in clear small boxes with lids, so he gives the containers to me. Its important to me to stay fairly authentic in repurposing. There are several ways to accomplish this in our junk journal world. I love yard sales too (and roadside finds that are wood and can be restored. I refinish furniture finds and sell them😊) I really love your ample choices for this journal. It will really be lovely and super dreamy girl among flowers, hair blowing in the wind, thinking about kissing a handsome man!😅❤
You did a great job choosing and then organizing. I love how you contained everything in the boxes in the end. Clearly I too need some kind of system. Thank you for sharing. 💜💜
My system is pretty chaotic. The things Iam using for the current journal Iam working on are all over my desk! I am going to incorporate this organization right away! Thanks Barbara for your videos. Love watching!
I do have an ever evolving system and I love to organize and re-organize on a regular basis. It makes me happy and it inspires me to use things that have been stashed away. I have lots of videos showing how my craft space transforms on a regular basis in my limited area. I'm a full time RVer and the back of the trailer is where I spend a lot of my time.
Great organizing system. I use large plastic baskets from the dollar store and just put everything into one and then spend a lot of time digging through the big pieces to get to the smaller ones. I think it’s time I change . Thank you for the inspiration .
My little craftspace is a great mess, that's what my family say.... but I know where everything is and where to find it. I store in shoeboxes, little buckets, tins, baskets and fruitcontainers. Once a year I reorganise, because it can be overwhelming and stuff I won't use goes to my favorite thriftstore 😊 I love your idea with the teabox ❤
I collect items on my trips to use in my future junk journals. When I get home I save them in their own 12X12 paper holders. Current projects are kept in drawers in a rolling cart/work space I have by my WFH desk so I can just grab something easily if nothing is happening at work. Any specific ephemera/lace/material/paper that matches goes in both systems. Otherwise, all my laces, fabrics and ephemera are sorted in different places depending on size or type. I don't have as large a collection, but it's pretty unwieldy. I just started this system about 3 weeks ago, and seems to be working out. Much easier to clean up after (which is ALWAYS my Achilles heel).
Hi Barbara. Funny, but I was thinking the same thing about having to put it all away. I don’t know if that’s a downfall in my way of thinking or not. I think I’m going to pay close attention to your process and see what you do and think, cause honestly I think that we think a lot alike on that. Thanks for taking us through the process so far. ❤😊
Trying to get and stay organized in my small space is the bane of my existence. Im always watching videos on organizing. I like the result you achieved for this project. Thank you. ❤
This is exactly why I feel so overwhelmed every time I do a journal. Not just when I start, but as I’m going. Because I think ‘oh that would look great’, so I go digging for it and find a bunch of other stuff. It truly is overwhelming. I understand the need to only bring a few items to the table. I just can’t do it!😂 Thank you for sharing how you handled the mountain. I will check the comments and Louise video for more help and ideas. 😂 You are always so inspiring! Hugs ❤️🤗
I appreciate videos about organization systems (especially related to craft materials and instruments) very much. Thank you for including those in your channel's feed. ♥♥♥
I have a similar system when choosing for projects I’m working on. My new goal is to find a gorgeous storage organizer to put the selected pieces in so they’re easier to grab when I’m working on each project. ❤ I looooove watching your process. It’s so helpful and inspiring. TFS 😘😘
Go Barbara!!! I giggled when you were repeatedly telling yourself to stop. 😂😂. Your organizational system is awesome. Can’t wait to see you use up all those amazing stash items.
Great job 👏 and thank you for sharing this proses 🙏 I don’t have a system 😅so this was a great inspiration 🥰 lots of love from a snowy arctic Norway 🥰🌸🌼🌺
My system is to gather things as I work. 😂😂😂 and throw them in a big basket and put it near the journal. Also have an enevelope or zip bag to keep scraps and die cuts in control. When finish I put them in an envelope inside the journal as ephemera bits
Fun to see how you determine which types of ephemera you choose for your journal. Love your storage solution. I use recycled plastic blueberry containers along with some dollar store plastic containers. I also have a big boot shoebox that I store my pre-made ephemera in. Can’t wait to see how and what you actually use out of what you chose.😍
Ooh, craft room 'shopping ' time! This is where I overwhelm myself 🙈. I have little bamboo 'baskets' from my clementines (I can't throw them away😄). The stack away neatly then I can fill them with possibilities when I 'shop' before making. then I get my ironing board out and arrange the baskets on top and on the wire shelves underneath🙊. It's just a great way to keep them handy but mobile at the same time. Such GORGEOUS colours 😍. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Thanks for sharing! I need to get more organized. You are an inspiration. Love the box to gather everything. I need that for the stuff I’ve gathered for Dephemerember!❤
A great way to plan ,. I’m just fly by the seat of my pants page by page., if I did it like you do it probably wouldn’t take me so long to make a journal. lol This is going to be fun to watch. 💙💙
I have all my stuff in containers and pull out when I need to use them I have a small desk so can not add any containers to sit on it so I usually have to have mine on the floor beside me for now , they are all separated by colors so is not too bad Love what Luisa does I just do not have space to do so right now in my tiny room hoping to improve space in the new year.💖💖
Great organizing tips! Thank you! Can’t wait to see the results. I need to do something - stop buying and use what I have is the first step 😅 except for digis, of course. Do you or anyone out there work from projects lists to keep on track for the next creation? There are so many things I want to make, I find it’s hard to decide on the next project and stay the course. Thank you again for sharing with us!❤❤This journal is beautiful already 😊
Oh no!!!
I’m pretty sure that “rummage” should be an official crafting term. It’s what we do!😂 I also love that you can’t use certain pieces if you’re not sure you can duplicate them. I do the same thing. I have some eco-prints that will probably be in my stash forever. 🖤
I can just imagine all those beautiful little things added to your lovely journal! Going to be super fun to see you play with them! Thank you!
Love looking thru your beautiful collections!
4:26 The gold trim is gorgeous! So are all the leaves! I’m inspired to go dig through my stash!
Apparently, I need a system. This is so much better than things in piles!
I have the same problems. I have so much stuff. I'm trying harder to use what I already have.
Absolutely no system and totally overwhelmed! It's one reason i get so little done. And i have "lost" things i know i have and found things i didn't know i had ( but obviously i do)! One of these days..... 😢😂😊❤

Organizing in the two containers at the end of the video, definitely makes it all less overwhelming and easier to pull.

Loving these supplies you will be creating with, going to so super fun
So many beautiful items! You'll have a lot of fun!

Those gifted charms would look gorgeous on the journal cover.🤗💖🦋
I would do the sorting as you. Then I would use dollar Tree bins.🤗💖🦋
Great job 👏 and thank you for sharing this proses 🙏 I don’t have a system 😅so this was a great inspiration 🥰 lots of love from a snowy arctic Norway 🥰🌸🌼🌺
Beautiful! I love the colors. Idea. Scan your linens that you will never be able to replicate. You could make a digital kit with them.
❤❤❤
Oh Barbara! How perfect is this organisation! You did a great job. Very inspiring. Thank you.❤

I do the same thing with the envelopes
Eine schöne Zusammenstellung an Material und Farben. Ich bin jetzt schon gespannt darauf, was du wieder Schönes daraus entstehen lässt.
Such beautiful treasures to be creative with. I love your storage boxes for the journal, everything is to hand for inspiration.

It looks ao pretty!
I would love one of your ephemera books! I don’t have a sewing machine so I hesitate to make one.🤗💖🦋
You can glue instead 😊
Oh my, I have missed so much... I have an awful project and I can hardly get back to.....CUTTING UP MY PAPERS!!!

Just curious🤔… Where did the palm tree bark come from? Was it died? I love this series.🤗💖🦋
Thanks. My hubby brought it from Egypt and no, it’s not died.
I have no real system. 😮
Ich bin immer ziemlich unorganisiert, wenn ich ein Journal mache, vielleicht sollt eich auch mal über so ein System nachdenken 🤔😅
Liebe Grüße Anke 🤗
