- I've been a long time hater of the World War 2 experience in Project Reality, but in the spirit of giving it a second try with PR's new WW2 update on the horizon, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the experience I had.

The PR experience
I'm not a fan of WW2 PR. Everyone has a radio... It'd be a lot better if only squad leaders and commanders had radio and everyone else relied on local.

@@FrontlinerCdV everyone is required to include a valid passport attached to their account when they sign up for the game. Anyone suspected of exploiting 3rd party voip programs will be systematically hunted down and dispatched by PR hit squads
So many memories from PR. I remember being like 12 years old, joined a random Australian server because I didn't know what ping was, no clue what I'm supposed to do, never played the game before, but fortunately a bunch of Australian dudes taught me what to do step by step even though I was obviously a kid and didn't even speak english well, but I still had the time of my life and that's definitely where my love for mil sims started!

The thing is, you need enough people to populate the server. There are tons of servers with no players on them that are live. It's not really an issue of needing another server, we need more players.
The issue when we started the slorgs server up (basically the merk server with a different name) is you'd have to be there everyday from 7am gmt 7 days a week. This is why hog now the pit is successful American admins in the EU mornings, EU admins during the evenings

I never understood WW2 in PR, I've played my fair share of that era based rounds and it doesn't feel anywhere near as good as more modern era based conflicts.
Hopefully the future update improves the WW2 experience. Forgotten Hope nailed it on a smaller scale.
As for PR itself, it needs a few more dollars in the bank to get more development in, as old as the engine is I think it still has plenty to expand upon.
For now it would be dope to see rebuilt character fps animations, redone asset textures with higher resolution, and fix the weird helicopter physics.
The way to win every ww2 PR match is to have your whole team stick together and move as one. Works every single time. Try it.
Guess people forgot about forgotten hope 2? They still got a strong player base and still get updates

@@buak809 I only played forgotten hope 2 so I'm kinda bias 😅. But by looking at the gameplay here I think forgotten hope 2 has more content and looks and plays better. Like i said I'm bias a bit.

What Squad will never become
Holy shit, it's been a long time since I've seen a =MeRK= clantag, used to play PR with them back when I was in Uni. Haha!
I love almost everything about Squad, but here's the one reason BF2 and PR are better: Visibility.
I love sloppy fumbling gunfights, was a joy since Red Orchestra, but not even getting to enjoy the sight of seeing my target go down, is anti-climactic as hell.
In the pursuit of realism, war games are at a point where you cannot see shit.

How the hell do you have so many servers full? I have 2 full Brazilian servers and 1 single half full US server
It depends alot on the time of day.. and if weekend or not
I was in the same game it was on a Friday servers are more full on weekend, ever since the fall of u7 server the pit server hasn’t rlly been as active as u7 was
Project Reality ww2 isnt it just called Forgotten Hope or are these two different things?
They're different mods. PR WW2 is incorporated into PR. Forgotten Hope is a separate BF2 modpack
so this mod Basically turns BF 2 into Hell let Loos and squad?

I absolutely love playing WW2 , its more infantry oriented and i make more kills and its fun 😁 but sometimes i kill my teammates by a mistake hahah
my issue with PR is that total lack of singleplayer support, in know its not the devs job, but i would have expected the community to do atleast something with the ai at this point.
The game has bots. You can literally make a local player vs ai server on almost all the maps in the game whenever you want. I'd argue that's pretty good single player support
@slorgs I'll have to test em out, years ago I did and the ai didn't seem very intelligent

If you enjoy this you should check out Hell Let Loose, good realistic WW2 shooter been liking it alot
Hell Let Loose doesn't really hold a candle to BF2 mods.
World war II is pretty cool. So are most of the "unbalanced maps" It's just hat we're a whinny community :D

Nope, you can install Project Reality as a standalone, there's a launcher for it somewhere. Google is your friend.
I would like to be in a squad like yours, I always go in and then half of them don't use a mic, and there is 1 Russian and at least one who knows how to play the game 😅😅

Project Reality, the free tactical gaame that includes Modern setting, Vietnam setting, and WW2 setting. To me, personally, Project Reality rivals Arma when it comes to it's tactics. Squad, Post Scriptum, and Hell Let Loose WISH it was as tactical as PR.
Alright now that’s a bit of a stretch but it definitely has earned it’s place on that list (above squad too) 😂

How old is your laptop? Is it a 386? I can run PR with maxed out graphics no problem on a laptop with a 1.8GHz Celeron mobile CPU with 4 GBs RAM and Intel 660HD integrated video!

WW2 maps and layers are included in the map pool with all the other ones (Vietnam War and Falklands War too)

Its a pc mod, so i dont think its doable, you do get hell let loose with game pass, or arma reforger, wich are similar

Helicopters, APCs and IFVs are the spice of PR. In other words high mobility with decent armor is the spice of PR. WW2 doesn't have any of this, so i will always hate it. I am really sad that the devs are focusing on WW2 currently.

I get your opinion and also share it to a large degree, but I also enjoy WW2 PR and am glad the devs are working to improve it. I'll never forget the first game I (and many others) played when WW2 PR Beta was released, and the total bloodbath that was Omaha Beach! It took the Allied team what felt like 1000 respawns each before we even made it off the sand! Hella frustrating but also hell fun.
