    Tyler. I really love your channel. I learned a lot and use your knowledge for better fishing techniques. I did notice something in your video when pulling out fish out of the water. And that is, that you’re putting your hand on the rod to take them out. 😢 I know that it is almost a ‘no-no’ because it puts stress on a weak point. doing that resulted in Rod breakage. And unfortunately, that was the case. I’m not saying it in the negative manner but more of a learning experience. I know that Rod’s can be expensive especially when you have been fishing for a long time and upgrade to bigger and better things.

    • @TylersReelFishing
      @TylersReelFishing  Год назад

      Thanks for the inquisitive comment! The rod breakage actually occurred though, as I mentioned, from the tungsten jig hitting the blank and causing most likely a small fracture that broke fully later on.
      In response to your critique, I have been flipping bass into my boat and onto the bank, the same way for years, with never one break. I even teach how to do it properly and safely in this video: ruclips.net/video/kNXGJYQKe5Y/видео.html

    • @JonJonsOutdoors
      @JonJonsOutdoors Год назад

      @@TylersReelFishing agree! Most guys nowadays use at least 1-3 heavy rods for frogging and flipping. A Medium Heavy just isn’t strong enough to handle the big hook sets and I watch you guys enough to know your loosing fish on the Crush, Mach’s KTBTV’s as the rods are to light. Would be a bigger seller if they added the skipping rod. I have my skipping reel from Lew’s on a heavy Megabass Levante.

    Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could ruclips.net/user/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It's paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

    Hey, I fish in my own pond, and its been in the 90's lately, Its very weedy with layers of scum on the surface. Ive been throwing texas rigs with senkos, finesse worms, and trickworms, and they sort of work, but Im wondering if theres anything that would work better? Ive also tried jigs and they used to work but dont really anymore. Jerkbaits are hit or miss. Still cant figure out the crankbait. I hate spinnerbaits with all my heart and soul. Lost all my buzzbaits to the trees. Also where should I cast? I think it may be post-spawn so Im thinking deeper, but I still dont know because I see bass jumping shallow.
