Mahalo for bringing the beautiful Merrie Monarch Festival Opening Ceremony. I was watching it on Hawaii News Now but the only thing I saw was backstage and three anchors doing all the talking and only showing a few seconds of the hula from last night..

@@naneakupu Merrie Monarch is about representation of the culture of hula, chants, singing and apparel of different hula groups !! So very important than promoting reruns of talk show and talking consistently non-stop! I've never been more irritated in my life. I even called and left a message for the programmer of KFVE.. Hawaii News Now.😠😡😤

I find it interesting that there are depictions of Hawaiian Gods, including Kukailimoku displayed on the Christian Easter Sunday with Kahiko chants and Hula.
