Hi Thomas, sorry to hear about Daisy...hope you enjoyed my country and next time you'll go there, I would recommend the National road 222, considered one of the most beautiful in the world and also the path to Compostela...I am sure you will like it...thanks again for an amazing video.
Ahh Thomas, it was the lack of coffee that made you tip over. Glad it wasn't a serious fall. Great video man. I hope Daisy is ok and she recovers soon.
Bikes looking mega man, great video again. My heart was in my mouth when you mentioned something was wrong with daisy 😱 good on yous for heading back to see her, confirms why I watch your videos buddy, not just content , type of guy you are. All the best to daisy 👍
Those are my training grounds 365 days a year. Great to know you had a good time training here. This is a beautiful cycling destination. I hope you comeback. All the best.
Going from denmark to Girona in 2 days. And im so scared my bullsmastiff end up in accidents even it is a family member who look after Them and have a Big fenced yard your just Long away. So i absolutely understand you guys❤️hope you at least enjoyed your extended weekend trip in Portugal
Great vídeo again, and I'm glad to be in my country, really were i live, Sintra/Ericeira 🙌🏼 Sorry about the bike, be safe and back to Portugal 🇵🇹 allways. The best wishes for your Pet Cheers
Great video again and looks amazing around those parts, you have to cycle on the algarve if you liked it where you stayed. The roads and villages are amazing with some decent climbing thrown in as the hills aren't far away from any point as are the beaches too.
Another great vid Thomas, there is always something special about riding in a different country. I leaned on one of those white yellow and black beacons at a set of lights just up from Harrods. Beacon and man down, funny now but felt like a plum laying on the traffic island holding my leg 😂😂
Your VLOGS are dope! Started watching a while back and really enjoying it! Love the new TREK!!!! I RIDE one myself and have owened 6 now and never changed brand! An absolute weapon of a bike
Thomas,i used to have an apartment In Alvor near Portimao i sold it 10 years ago,but miss the palce so badly.I used to cycle up to monchique and Foia and all around there.God the scenery was unbelievable. The Portuguese love there cycling and its a great place to be.....Another point 70 million people in the UK ...Portugal twice the size of the UK 11 million. Hence no body about!!!
I nearly fell off when grabbing a waist height road marker, at a set of traffic lights, it was a new style,(well new to me🙄) where it has a very flexible pivot at the base.... didn't expect that☹ Hope you dog is better soon👍
Sad the trip got cut short but definitely the right call. The biggest takeaway from this video is the family time away from the cycling. We can all see how much work you put into to your content and the time that must take. To spend more time with your partner and do shorter rides shows you have the right balance. 👍
Hello and thank you for enjoying Portugal it is a wonderful country and you saw a small part of it , you must try our food and our wine 😁, let us know when you come back and we can organize some ride with you and show you the sites 😋, keep up the fantastic work , all the best from one Portuguese Fan 😊
@@TheCyclingTattooist 😂😂😂😂 I was one time in UK ( Sherness I believe 🤔) my company send me there to repair some cars (VW) and I liked a lot your Country but I like more ours weather 😂😂😂😂
Welcome to Portugal. If you want to know a good place to cycle, you are invited to come to Serra da Arrábida. Around here there are also really good cakes to try eheh. Good stay!
Hello! I live very close from Colares, and make me very happy that you enjoyed our country. Also i ride in those same roads quite frequently. when you came back you should go climb Penedo, it´s a hard climb specialy the top end. Kudos ;)
Great video Thomas, sorry to hear about Daisy, hopes she’s recovering well. We’re do you find the accommodation that you stay in. PS what about your other baby how’s the scratch on your derailleur, gutted for you.
@@keessonnema it´s actually quitty hilly. In the Lisbon area you have Serra de Sintra, where Thomas rode, and in the South side of the Tagus you have Serra da Arrabida, both places easily you can do 2000m of elevation pretty quick. If you ride from Lisbon/Cascais a bit North you have Montejunto and Socorro wich are very nice for a good 150/200k ride with 3000 to 4000m of climbing. The northen part of the country is also hilly, Serra da Estrela for example. Alentejo (Southern part is quite flat however if you go to Algarve you have the famous Foia Climb where Remco won Volta ao Algarve and Ed Laverack recently went there for a Segment classification.
Bin there, done that! Here's hoping Daisy wasn't as badly hurt as your shoes. Best wishes. BTW right now,, I'm literally eating a pastel de nata - possibly a bit sybaritic!!
oh man, so painful to see your fall... last weekends I also stupidly fell with my bike, scratched knee and hand... good that your bike didn't suffer much
Cool vídeo might! Those are pasteis de Belém and they are made with a secret recipe. The secret has been kept for 200 years!! The pasteis de nata are a copy and they cannot even use the name Pasteis de Belem as it's a trade mark. By the way I know this because I'm from Lisbon. Cheers 😊
Well done Thomas…. except for the part where you fell into a trash bin of course. Now that you’ve tasted Portugal cycling, you’ll have to come to Coimbra and see the center. The trash bins are a lot less aggressive here.😉
You're a legend Thomas, what a great vid. The montage was excellent, you've got mad skills off and on the bike! I'm assuming you had a drone for the ariel footage? You're on another level, brother. Hope the hound is OK!
Nothing worse than road rash on new attire/bike...had less than 200km on my Ti bike. Went down on a left hander on cobbled road. At least the derailleur didn't get any damage. Scuffed up the rear thru axle...at least it was cheap enough to replace. No clothing damage, but still got bruised.
Love your content mate , you inspire , this upload you didn’t seem your normal self especially doing the zone 2 , chill out follow the process , I know you are usually full gas , you have that already , a little durianrider nutrition influence and you will take off
I’ll concur with your VO2 Max hill reps sentiment Thomas, nailed it 💪. Consistent power all the way through with the perfect bin rest stop 😂
Thanks coach! 😘
Always informative and so well filmed . I love looking forward to when they are aired , brilliant .
Thanks so much!
as a cyclist and dog parent you did the absolute right and hard thing. Much love to you and your family
Only two and a half mins in but came here to say how much I enjoyed the music over the landing into Lisbon. Nice, very Beverley hills cop

Portugal is the absolute best. Some great cycling and like you say - the food is so good you can eat yourself into a coma! 😂
Awesome to see you enjoyed yourself in my country. Always interesting to see someone’s first time here. Hope Daisy’s fine. Stay safe!
Ahh Thomas, it was the lack of coffee that made you tip over. Glad it wasn't a serious fall. Great video man. I hope Daisy is ok and she recovers soon.
A little “off” just makes the bike yours. Glad to hear the dog is all good.👍🏻
Bikes looking mega man, great video again. My heart was in my mouth when you mentioned something was wrong with daisy 😱 good on yous for heading back to see her, confirms why I watch your videos buddy, not just content , type of guy you are. All the best to daisy 👍
Come and try the Algarve, stunning , happy to show you around all the local roads and mountain range, 👍🚴♀️🚴♀️😎
I may be coming that way soon… message me on Instagram and maybe we can ride!
Nice and lovely attitude toward your baby Daisy. The only right decision you made. BTW movie is great. Thanks for your effort.
I was in Sintra and wished so badly that I had my bike!! Such a beautiful country Portugal ❤
Nice photobomb at 2:11 😂😂😂 enjoy your trip and the (survived) super nice bike dude 😜🎉🎉

It really is a great place! Also we went to Ericeira and absolutely loved it there! 😁🙌

Great video bincident included! Sad the trip was curtailed as it would have been lovely to see more of Portugal.
Love the videos, i even bought a Trek myself today - A Domane SL5, a massive upgrade to my 2016 Synapse..
Another great vid Thomas, there is always something special about riding in a different country. I leaned on one of those white yellow and black beacons at a set of lights just up from Harrods. Beacon and man down, funny now but felt like a plum laying on the traffic island holding my leg 😂😂
Haha I know exactly what you mean… someone was there when I fell off and I think the embarrassment stun more than the scratches! 🤣🙈
Great video T, I'd still be crying now if i scraped my derailleur like that, replacement or get somebody to airbrush it back to standard
Nasty crash! Best wishes for your recovery 😂
Bit of matte black or grey and that rear derailleur will touch up lovely.
Super video Thomas! Enjoyed it.
Your VLOGS are dope! Started watching a while back and really enjoying it! Love the new TREK!!!! I RIDE one myself and have owened 6 now and never changed brand! An absolute weapon of a bike
I am really enjoying your videos and wanted to thank you for sharing some beautiful cycling spots. Portugal is now on my list. Keep up the great work!
Yeah its a pretty amazing place… I’m definitely going back! 😁🙌
Ohh no, you came to my backyard and I didn't no you were here. I would love to show you the best climbs 😊

Great vid, Portugal looks like a stunning place to ride. Surprised you don't hear it mentioned more often as a cycling destination.
Tarmac looks great, nice wavy bends and decends. It's not as hilly as Spain for example, so maybe that's why?

Drivers are nothing like the Spanish, unfortunately. Not very safe..

Thomas I notice your managing to fit your bike into a standard Bikeboxalan with integrated cables on your bars any issues ?
2:12 hilarious haha...
