I really am impressed that this power station is able to do pretty much anything you throw at it. There are no strange limitations, such as no pass through charging, can't use external solar panels while using the integrated one, able to run AC while solar charging. It just simply works with regular scenarios. Yeah, the built in solar panel is pretty much useless on its own, being able to get to 18-20W is not that useful mainly because if you actually need solar panels to recharge your power station, you need 200-300W to actually be useful in real world situations. Yeah, being able to recharge 150Wh or so through an entire day is descent but remember that when you're outside, you don't always have the chance to charge the entire day. It could be cloudy, rain could come later in the after noon or early morning and you have just half a day of decent light or less to charge. This is why you need 200-300W at a minimum to actually get enough energy quickly. Still, I really like this power statin as a whole.

Wow, another interesting review of a power station that you won't find anyone else reviewing. It truly is an all in one unit, which really is a plus and most people would be surprised at what 148 watts will run for a day, such as a Sunfrost 4 cubic foot refrigerator or their vaccine refrigerator (50 watts per day), cell or sat phone charging plus LED lighting. A great unit for emergency use in disaster areas (hurricanes, tornadoes, earth quakes) where services may be interrupted for extended periods. Thanks for finding this one!

As usual, a great review and overview of this power station's capabilities. Always so thorough. I just picked up a Vtoman 600 (after watching your review) and didn't know this particular unit was out there. Will certainly consider it for any future purchases. I'm with you in not caring for the battery-style power indicator--too vague. The solar panel is fairly weak but a pretty handy feature to have nonetheless. I expect other companies will jump on this bandwagon soon and it'll be interesting to see who comes out with what over the next couple of years. Again, very good review. Thanks.

even without the rebate, $600 for a ""614.4Wh capacity and 600W pure sine wave AC inverter (1200W surge),"" and built in solar panel is quite nice.
Way better than the Jackery Explorer 500 being ""500 Watt output 518Wh (Surge 1000w)"" with extra cost for panels.
Likely this will be the one I get for my currently PLANNED 1981 Ford "Mobile Traveler" class C motorhome, just mount it to the inside of the kitchen window because I'm too poor to mount external solar panels on the roof

Since there is no European unit i guess I wouldn't be buying it however i would find this great for keeping my Dometic fridge/cooler running all day at the beach without too much of a drop from 100% 🤔. Then it would also keep the fridge/cooler running overnight until the next day. Of course it would need to be a sunny day or days But usually you don't go to the beach when it's too cloudy.
My concern would be if the solar panel is replaceable and if it is, how much would that panel cost? Can the user replace it ?
Something could happen to the panel, a scratch or chip from something falling on it.
Also nice would have been a four fold panel at around 60 or even 80 watts. What's another inch or two on the width or maybe the unit would be a bit longer and wider.
Perhaps a choice of this unit with either 30, 60 or 80 watts. I believe this kind of option will be available after a certain number of these 30's are sold. Just like solar generators, started at small W/hrs to run this and that and now you can power a microwave plus more 🤔
    I like the idea though.

That's interesting and kinda cool, but several key aspects of it miss the mark. For that price range, the EF River Pro 2 is a whole lot more power station for not much more money. The limited solar charging, especially from the built-in panel, is especially disappointing.

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Год назад +2

Fair points, Jason. I think the reason you might prefer something like this is if you find the form factor particularly appealing...and like the idea of having that small panel always there for emergencies. But if those things aren't things you care about, it IS probably better to look at something like the River 2 Pro.

Hi James. Thanks for your question. The PD65W port is output only, so far as I could tell. Also, that 12V car socket seems to hold at 11.5V even when the SOC is very low, so it appears regulated at that 11.5V output, which is fine for all the 12v fridges I have (which going on about 9 I think at the moment haha... it's ridiculous around here).

This is a cool idea, but IMHO, the solar panel should fold out in 4 directions, to allow at least a 100 watt panel to be attached to the power station. Anything of less wattage in a solar panel, is to weak IMHO and more of a gimmick.

From the user's perspective, this product takes portability, durability and reliability into consideration, as well as emergency use, this charger has been built with two charging methods (cable and solar).
Due to the large battery capacity and small solar panel size, along with variable sunlight intensity, the solar charging results may not be as fast as we may have expected. Normally, we use adapters to charge this product, and only rely on using solar power in the event of power outages, natural disasters or other conditions where an adapter can’t be used. When we have a greater need for solar charging, we can use this product in conjunction with solar panels.

I bought two 500 watt power stations for 260 each, and two 100w glass solar panels for 65 each. I assume the "30 watt" panel will never produce 30 watts. Placing this outside in our Louisiana heat in the sunlight would very quickly degrade the battery. You can buy a 100ah LiFeP04 battery, solar panel, inverter, and 10 amp in line solar charge controller for about the same price.

      Thanks for your question.
      1. We have overheat protection, when the product overheats due to high temperature and power during AC use, the fan will start to drive away the interior high temperature to make sure the power bank is working properly. So the normal solar charging will not cause damage to the battery.
      2. Solar can be considered a reserve capacity for charging when other charging methods are unavailable. When you are in an environment where there is no power to charge your low battery phone, the built-in 30W solar panel can give us a chance to try.
We suggest customers charge it from an electricity source before taking a trip, as solar charging is an additional feature for emergency use only. Thanks for your understanding.
